A critical unaddressed problem in Parkinson’s disease is the lack of therapy that slows or hampers *** medications effectively manage symptoms,they offer no long-term benefit because they fail to address the underlying neuronal *** highlights that the elusive goals of halting progression and restoring damaged neurons limit the long-term impact of current *** clinical trials using gene therapy have demonstrated the safety of various vector delivery systems,dosages,and transgenes expressed in the central nervous system,signifying tangible and substantial progress in applying gene therapy as a promising Parkinson’s disease ***,at diagnosis,many dopamine neurons remain in the substantia nigra,offering a potential window for recovery and *** propose that modulating these surviving dopamine neurons and axons in the substantia nigra and striatum using gene therapy offers a potentially more impactful therapeutic approach for future ***,innovative gene therapies that focus on preserving the remaining elements may have significant potential for enhancing long-term outcomes and the quality of life for patients with Parkinson’s *** this review,we provide a perspective on how gene therapy can protect vulnerable elements in the substantia nigra and striatum,offering a novel approach to addressing Parkinson’s disease at its core.

INTRODUCTION Resilience refers to the quality of being able to overcome adversity.[1]Studies conducted in the United States[2]and China[3]following the 2019 coronavirus disease(COVID-19)pandemic reported reduced resilience levels among medical *** resilience levels are associated with low burnout levels among residents.[4]Physician burnout affects patients’safety and quality of care.[5]In particular,emergency physicians(EPs)are more prone to exhaustion or poor resilience,as their turnover intention tends to be higher.[6]Therefore,improving EPs’resilience is imperative.

The resveratrol-enriched transgenic rice line Iksan526(IS526),first developed by the Rural Development Administration of Korea using genetic engineering techniques,shows beneficial health effects in mitigating metabolic syndrome and ***,the effects of IS526 on the differentiation of chondrocytes and the underlying mechanism have not been investigated in *** this study,the effects and cellular regulatory mechanisms of IS526 on rabbit articular chondrocytes were *** IS526 callus extract treatment,the expression levels of differentiation-related proteins were detected via western blotting,Alcian blue staining and immune-luorescence ***526 decreased the type Ⅱ collagen and proteoglycan levels in dose-and time-dependent *** further analyzed the effects of IS526 on skeleton genesis in zebrafish larvae using Alcian blue staining,which showed a reduction in cartilage formation along with increased production of matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)-***526 also increased the phosphorylation of ERK1/2 and p38 kinase but inhibited the phosphorylation of *** inhibition of MMP-13 blocked the IS526-induced decrease in type Ⅱ collagen *** of p38 kinase or PI-3K/Akt with SB203580 and LY294002 enhanced the suppression of type Ⅱ collagen,but the blockage of ERK-1/2 by PD98059 rescued IS526-induced *** results suggested that IS526 regulates type Ⅱ collagen and MMP-13 expression via the ERK1/2 and PI-3K/Akt pathways in rabbit articular chondrocytes.

Deforestation or clear-cut logging affects forest ecosystems,including soil microbial *** purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of clearcut logging on the soil bacterial community in a temperate deciduous broad-leaved forest on ***,South *** investigated the physicochemical characteristics and bacterial diversity of the soil in clear-cut logging and control *** available phosphorus(AP)level in soil was significantly lower in the clear-cut sites than in the control;however,the other physicochemical properties of soil were similar at the two *** examining the bacterial 16S rRNA gene using next-generation sequencing,we found that the number of bacterial taxa at the species and phylum level were similar at the control and clear-cut *** with the high resilience of bacterial communities and absence of change in the soil physicochemical properties—with the exception of AP—we found similar levels of bacterial diversity at the two *** most taxa showed similar composition ratios at the control and the clear-cut sites,some taxa such as Deltaproteobacteria,Ktedonobacteriales,Myxocccales,Polyangiaceae,Pedosphaera_f,and Solibacter showed differences after clear-cut *** conclude that AP was significantly associated with those bacterial taxa that showed differences in their composition ratios following clear-cut logging.

The soil microbiome that plays important ecological roles in mountains and forests is influenced by anthropogenic and natural *** activity,particularly harvesting or thinning,affects the soil microbiome in forests by altering environmental conditions,such as vegetation,microclimate,and soil physicochemical *** purpose of this study was to investigate the effects on forest thinning on the diversity and composition of the soil bacterial *** next-generation sequencing results of the 16S rRNA gene,we examined differences in soil bacterial diversity and community composition before and after thinning at ***,South *** identified 40 phyla,103 classes,192 orders,412families,947 genera,and 3,145 species from the soil *** and Proteobacteria were the most dominant bacterial phyla in the forest soil of *** bacterial diversity measures(richness,Shannon diversity index,and evenness)at the phylum level increased after thinning,whereas species-level taxonomic richness decreased after *** provided new opportunities for bacterial species in Chloroflexi,Verrucomicrobia,Nitrospirae,and other nondominant bacterial taxa,especially for those not found in *** before thinning,to settle and adapt to the changing *** results suggested that thinning affected the diversity and composition of soil bacterial communities in forests and mountains.

17-4 precipitation-hardened(PH)stainless steel(SS)exhibits high strength and good corrosion resistance via Cu-precipitation *** conventional wrought 17-4PH SS,Cu segregation andε-Cu pre-cipitates are observed in additively manufactured(AM)17-4PH SS owing to the repeated rapid cooling after heating,which characterizes the AM *** this study,solution treatment was conducted under various temperatures(1,000,1,050,1,100,and 1,200℃)and durations(1,2,4,and 8 h)to minimize the negative effects of Cu segregation andε-Cu precipitates on precipitation *** mechanical prop-erties and microstructures of each condition for the Cu precipitation behavior were *** theε-Cu precipitates did not disappear after solution treatment,the average diameter of theε-Cu precipi-tates tended to decrease with increasing solution treatment temperature and ***,solution treatment at a temperature of 1,200℃ for 8 h was the best,resulting in improved strength compared to the conventional solution treatment at 1,050℃.Solution treatment on at least 1,100℃ is effective in AM.

AIM: To investigate the impact of systemic inflammationbased prognostic markers on overall survival in relapsed/refractory metastatic colorectal cancer(m CRC) patients. METHODS: To investigate prognostic markers in m CRC patients,this study was performed with patients who have experienced relapsed/refractory m CRC with standard chemotherapy or were inapplicable to conventional treatment modality because of poor performance status,age,or comorbidity. We reviewed the medical records of 177 m CRC patients managed with Korean Medicine(KM) treatment modality using an anticancer agent of Rhus verniciflua Stokes extract from June 2006 to April 2013. The clinicopathologic characteristics,laboratory test,the systemic inflammation markers including the modified Glasgow prognostic score(m GPS),neutrophil lymphocyte ratio(NLR),platelet lymphocyte ratio(PLR),lymphocyte monocyte ratio(LMR),and prognostic nutritional index(PNI) were analyzed. The overall survival of patients was calculated with the Kaplan-Meier method and the statistical significance was compared using with the log-rank test. To compare the impact of systemic inflammation based markers,the hazard ratio(HR) of m GPS,NLR,PLR,LMR,and PNI for overall survival were evaluated with the Cox proportional hazards ***: The majority of m CRC patients had relapsed/refractory to standard chemotherapy; 128 patients(72.3%) had undergone more than second line chemotherapy,and the median time from diagnosis of m CRC to initiation of KM was 9.4 mo. The median overall survival of enrolled patients was 8.3 mo. On univariate analyses,the inflammation markers of higher m GPS(P 300(P = 0.004),LMR ≤ 3.4(P < 0.001),and PNI ≤ 45.3(P = 0.001) were significantly associated with decreased survival time. Objective:To elucidate the potential anti-inflammatory mechanisms of Rhamnus crenata leaf extracts using RAW264.7 ***:We used 3-[4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2,5 diphenyl tetrazolium bromide assay to measure cell *** oxide(NO)production was measured using Griess *** blotting and RT-PCR assays were carried out for analyzing the protein and gene expressions of pro-inflammatory mediators,***,PD98059(ERK1/2 inhibitor),SB203580(p38 inhibitor),SP600125(JNK inhibitor),and BAY11-7082(NF-κB inhibitor)were used to evaluate the anti-inflammatory mechanism of Rhamnus crenata leaf ***:Rhamnus crenata leaf extracts significantly inhibited the production of the pro-inflammatory mediators such as NO,iNOS,COX-2,IL-1β,and TNF-αin lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-stimulated RAW264.7 *** crenata leaf extracts also suppressed LPS-induced degradation of IκB-αand nuclear accumulation of p65,which resulted in the inhibition of NF-κB activation in RAW264.7 ***,the extracts attenuated the phosphorylation of p38,ERK1/2,and JNK in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 ***,HO-1 expression induced by Rhamnus crenata leaf extracts was significantly downregulated by SB230580,PD98059,SP600125 and ***:Rhamnus crenata leaf extract may upregulate HO-1 expression through inhibition of p38,ERK1/2,and NF-κB activation,which may contribute to the anti-inflammatory activity of the *** crenata leaf extracts may have great potential for the development of anti-inflammatory drugs to treat acute and chronic inflammatory diseases.

Objective:Aqueous extracts of Zapoteca portoricensis are used traditionally as antidiarrhea agent and in the treatment of diverse gastrointestinal disorders here in Nigeria specifically,the southern ***,the aqueous extract of the plant is also used traditionally as anticonvulsant,antispasmodic and in the treatment of *** too,the anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activities of the methanol extracts of the root of Zapoteca portoricensis was *** this research,we are set to investigate the trypanocidal activity of Zapoteca ***:The methanol extract of the root of Zapoteca portoricensis was investigated for both in vitro and in vivo trypanocidal activity following established *** summary,phytochemical analysis was carried out on both the crude powdered root and on the methanol extract following standard procedures.
