Hepatic fibrosis is a pathological lesion, characterized by the progressive accumulation of extracellularmatrix （ECM） in the perisinusoidal space and it is a major problem in chronic liver diseases. Phenotypicactivation of hepatic stellate cells （HSC） plays a central role in the progression of hepatic fibrosis. Retardation of proliferation and clearance of activated HSCs from the injured liver is an appropriate therapeuticstrategy for the resolution and treatment of hepatic fibrosis. Clearance of activated HSCs from the injuredliver by autophagy inhibitors, proapoptotic agents and senescence inducers with the high affinity towardthe activated HSCs may be the novel therapeutic strategy for the treatment of hepatic fibrosis in the nearfuture.

We construct, through a further extension of the tanh-function method, the matter-wave solutions of Bose-Einstein condensates （BECs） with a three-body interaction. The BECs are trapped in a potential comprising the linear magnetic and the time-dependent laser fields. The exact solutions obtained include soliton solutions, such as kink and antikink as well as bright, dark, multisolitonic modulated waves. We realize that the motion and the shape of the solitary wave can be manipulated by controlling the strengths of the fields.

Liver cell transplantation presents clinical benefit in patients with inborn errors of metabolism as an alternative,or at least as a bridge,to orthotopic liver *** success of such a therapeutic approach remains limited by the quality of the transplanted *** remains the best option for long-term storage of hepatocytes,providing a permanent and sufficient cell ***, isolated adult hepatocytes are poorly resistant to such a process,with a significant alteration both at the morphological and functional ***,the aim of the current review is to discuss the state of the art regarding widely-used hepatocyte cryopreservation protocols,as well as the assays performed to analyse the post-thawing cell quality both in vitro and in vivo. The majority of studies agree upon the poor quality and efficiency of cryopreserved/thawed hepatocytes as compared to freshly isolated *** ice formation or exposure to hyperosmotic solutionsremains the main phenomenon of cryopreservation process,and its effects on cell quality and cell death induction will be *** increased knowledge and understanding of the cryopreservation process will lead to research strategies to improve the viability and the quality of the cell suspensions after *** strategies,such as vitrification,will be discussed with respect to their potential to significantly improve the quality of cell suspensions dedicated to liver cell-based therapies.

对大别山南部新店超高压榴辉岩两件锆石样品进行了详细的阴极发光、微区U-Pb年龄和氧同位素研究,发现存在两类锆石.一类为短粗、等轴状锆石,量大,是原岩岩浆锆石,并遭受了一定程度的重结晶,形成时间在811±22Ma.另一类为自形、棱柱状锆石,量少,有核-边结构,边部是超高压变质时期形成的变质增生锆石,变质作用发生在221~217Ma.所有原岩岩浆锆石的Th/U比均在1.3左右,随变质重结晶程度增加,Th/U比下降,变质增生锆石Th/U比均低于0.1.锆石阴极发光强度主要由U和Th含量控制.无论是岩浆锆石还是变质锆石的δ^(18)O值都很低,平均值分别为1.8‰和2.8‰.原岩锆石的低δ^(18)O值表明其形成时源区有显著的大气降水加入,这可能和全球范围内晚前寒武纪雪球地球事件有关,也表明在大别山变质环境下,榴辉岩相变质作用不能使原岩锆石氧同位素发生明显再造.

AIM： To investigate the presence and role of liver epithelial cells in the healthy human adult liver. METHODS： Fifteen days after human hepatocyte primary culture, epithelial like cells emerged and started proliferating. Cell colonies were isolated and sub- cultured for more than 160 d under specific culture conditions. Cells were analyzed for each passage using immunofluorescence, flow cytometry and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction （RT-PCR）. RESULTS： Flow cytometry analysis demonstrated that liver epithelial cells expressed common markers for hepatic and stem cells such as CD90, CD44 and CD29 but were negative for CD34 and CDl17. Using immunofluorescence we demonstrated that liver epithelial cells expressed not only immature （α-fetoprotein） but also differentiated hepatocyte （albumin and CK-18） and biliary markers （CK-7 and 19）, whereas they were negative for OV-6. RT-PCR analysis confirmed immunofluorescence data and revealed that liver epithelial cells did not express mature hepatocyte markers such as CYP2B6, CYP3A4 and tyrosine amino-transferase. Purified liver epithelial cells were transplanted into SCID mice. One month after transplantation, albumin positive cell foci were detected in the recipient mouse parenchyma. CONCLUSION： According to their immature and bipotential phenotype, liver epithelial cells might represent a pool of precursors in the healthy human adult liver other than oval cells.

In many sexually reproducing species, individuals can gather information about potential mates by observing their mating success. This behavioral pattern, that we call mate-copying, was reported in the fruit fly Drosophila rnelanogaster where females choosing between 2 males of contrasting phenotypes can build a preference for males of the phenotype they previously saw being chosen by a demonstrator female. As sex ratio is known to affect mate choice, our goal was to test whether mate-copying is also affected by encountered sex ratios. Thus, we created a gradient of sex ratio during demonstrations of mate-copying experiments by changing the number of females observ- ing from a central arena 6 simultaneous demonstrations unfolding in 6 peripheral compartments of a hexagonal device. We also tested whether the sex ratio experienced by females during demon- strations affected their choosiness （male courtship duration and double courtship rate） in subse- quent mate-choice tests. Experimental male：female sex ratio during demonstrations did not affect mate-copying indices, but positively affected the proportion of both males courting the female during mate-choice tests, as well as male courtship duration, the latter potentially explaining the for- mer relationship. As expected, the sex ratio affected female choosiness positively, and Drosophila females seem to have evolved a mate-copying ability independently of sex ratio, and a capacity to adapt their choosiness to male availability. This suggests that, as in many animal species, individuals, especially females, can adapt their mate choice depending on the current sex ratio.

We estimate weighted character sums with determinants ad-bc of 2×2 matrices modulo a prime p with entries a,b,c and d vary ing over the interval [1,N].Our goal is to obtain non-trivial bounds for values of N as small as *** particular,we achieve this goal,with a power saving,for N≥p^(1/8+ε) with any fixed ε>0,which is very likely to be the best possible unless the celebrated Burgess bound is improved,By other techniques,we also treat more general sums but sometimes for larger values of N.
