A tribute to Dr Arnold *** This perspective was written in celebration of Dr Arnold ***'s 80th birthday.I chose to write this prospective about restoration of p53 activity in tumors for two reasons:Arnie (as we all know him) has become interested in restoring p53 activity in tumor cells and such a review did not *** was also my postdoctoral advisor and writing this perspective is just a small tribute for the huge impact he has had on my research career (and that of many others),from supporting me when I left his laboratory for a faculty position before I had even published a paper,to serving as a sounding board for numerous ideas.

Objective: To assess the temporal and geographical distribution of confirmed cases of cutaneous, mucocutaneous and visceral leishmaniasis in the Argentine Republic from 2013 to 2017. Methods: A retrospective study was carried out using data collected from the Integrated surveillance Bulletin database of the National system of Health surveillance. Confirmed cases of cutaneous, mucocutaneous and visceral leishmaniasis up to the 52 nd epidemiological week of each year was included. Results: In the 5 years period, 1 295 confirmed leishmaniasis cases were reported in the Argentine Republic. One thousand twenty-eight(1 028) cases corresponded to cutaneous leishmaniasis(87.10%), being the most common type of leishmaniasis. Mucocutaneous leishmaniasis was in the second place in the country with 115 cases reported, mostly in the Northwest and Northeast regions. A total of 52 individuals with visceral leishmaniasis were identified and Misiones Province was the most affected. Conclusions: It is important to analyze the temporal and geographical distribution of leishmaniasis in order to provide an adequate management and surveillance.

Utilizing high-speed schlieren photography and particle-tracking-velocimetry,the wake flow of tethered houseflies is *** high-speed schlieren photography is implemented on tethered houseflies inside an air container with a stable vertical temperature gradient to visualize the disturbed wake flow from the *** resulting photography images were then processed with the physics based optical flow method to derive the light-path averaged flow ***,the state of the art:shake-the-Box system is implemented on a tethered housefly to measure the volumetric flow field in the wake of the insect,revealing interesting flow behavior and structures that can also be observed and correlated to the schlieren photography *** the dimensionless velocity magnitude of the wake flow from the two experiments,a good qualitative agreement is reached,suggesting the viability of high-speed schlieren photography in investigating the wake flow of small ***,the high-speed schlieren photography is successfully applied on a housefly that is taking off from the ground,visualizing the disturbed wake flow on the freely flying insect that is challenging to visualize with other methods.

Researchers are paying increasing attention to the development of low-cost and microcontroller-based accelerometers,in order to make structural health monitoring feasible for conventional bridges with limited monitoring *** with the low-cost sensor development,the use of the embedded accelerometers of smartphones for eigenfrequency analysis of bridges is becoming popular in the civil engineering *** paper,for the first time in the literature,studies these two promising technologies by comparing the noise density and eigenfrequency analysis of a self-developed,validated and calibrated low-cost Internet of things based accelerometer LARA(low cost adaptable reliable accelerometer)with those of a state of the art smartphone(iPhone XR).The eigenfrequency analysis of a footbridge in san sebastian,spain,showed that the embedded accelerometer of the iPhone XR can measure the natural frequencies of the under study bridge.
