Objective: Mucoepidermoid carcinoma(MEC) is the most common primary malignancy of the salivary glands. Insulin-like growth factor-II m RNA-binding protein-3(IMP3) is an important prognostic factor in some cancers and a tool that differentiates between benign and malignant pancreatic lesions. this study aimed to identify a relationship between the expression of IMP3 and the outcome of salivary gland MEC, as well as to differentiate MEC from pleomorphic adenoma(PA).Methods: tissue specimens from 70 cases of salivary gland MEC, 40 cases of PA, and 10 cases with normal salivary gland were examined immunohistochemically for IMP3. the association among the expression of IMP3, clinicopathological characteristics and patient's survival was ***: IMP3 was present in 51.4% of MEC but absent in PA and normal salivary gland tissues. IMP3 expression was associated with age > 60 years, submandibular gland tumors, tumor size > 4 cm, high-grade tumors, lymph node metastasis, involvement of surgical margins, perineural invasion, distant metastasis, advanced tNM stage, tumor relapse, and death(Ptumors of the submandibular gland, and lymph node metastasis were independent prognostic factors of disease-free survival(DFS). In addition, IMP3 was a strong predictor of overall survival(OS) together with distant metastasis and intermediate and high-grade ***: IMP3 expression is highly important in evaluating the outcome of MEC. IMP3 can be used to differentiate MEC from PA of salivary glands.

●AIM:to study the different treatment modalities needed in cases of Duane’s Retraction Syndrome(DRS).●MEtHODS:this prospective study undergone in more than four years,in Alexandria,included 238 patients of DRS,including type I,162 patients(68%),type II 12 patients(5%)and type III 64 patients(27%).Surgery was indicated in 98(41%)of them,to eliminate abnormal head posture,deviation of the eye in primary position,severe retraction of the globe or cosmetically unacceptable upshoot with attempted adduction.●RESULtS:type I was the most common and type II was the *** were predominant in this study,constituting 125 patients(52.5%),and males 113 patients(47.5%).Left eye was more affected,in 110 patients(46.2%),right eye in 91 patients(38.2%)and bilateral in 37 patients(15.6%).Amblyopia was found in 27 patients(11.3%)and treated in 13 patients under 10 years of age,by patching the normal ***-eight patients(41%)were operated,the results were most satisfactory and a nomogram is followed in the surgical plan.●CONCLUSION:the surgical management is needed in less than half of the cases and should be planned for every case individually according to the clinical findings,planned nomogram and modified intraoperatively according to the anatomical findings during surgery.

In this study,the sine-Gordon equation method is modified to deal with variable-coefficient systems containing imaginary parts,such as nonlinear Schrödinger *** are of considerable importance in many fields of research,including ocean engineering and *** an example,we apply the modified method to variable-coefficient coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equations and Davey-Stewartson system with variable coefficients,treating them as one-dimensional and two-dimensional systems,*** a result of this application,novel solitary wave solutions are obtained for both ***,some figures are provided to illustrate how the solitary wave propagation is determined by the different values of the variable group velocity dispersion terms,which can be used to model various phenomena.

In this study,the generalized modified variable-coefficient KdV equation with external-force term(gvcmKdV)describing atmospheric blocking located in the mid-high latitudes over ocean is studied for integrability property by using consistent Riccati expansion solvability and the necessary integrability conditions between the function coefficients are ***,several new solutions have been constructed for the ***,the classical direct similarity reduction method is used to re-duce the gvcmKdV to a nonlinear ordinary differential *** on the solutions given in the previous literature for the reduced equation,many novel solitary and periodic wave solutions have been obtained for the gvcmKdV.

Background and Aim: the Egyptian Ministry of Health initiated a nationwide HCV treatment program with the newly developed oral antiviral therapies and formulated national guidelines for treatment allocation which gave favor for patients with advanced fibrosis and early cirrhosis. One of the recommendations for treatment was upper Gastro-intestinal (GIt) endoscopy. this study aimed at estimating the prevalence of varices among those patients and judging the validity of this national recommendation. Methods: this study was carried out at gastrointestinal endoscopy units, Zagazig University Hospitals through the year 2014. the epidemiologic, clinical features and endoscopic findings of patients undergoing preparation for HCV therapy were analyzed. Endoscopic classifications of esophageal and gastric varices were carried out after the Italian liver cirrhosis project and Sarin’s classification respectively. Results: totally 1143 patients performed upper GIt endoscopy as preparation for HCV treatment. this comprised 22% of all patients undergoing upper GIt endoscopy over that year. there was a fourfold rise in percentage of patients undergoing endoscopy for sofosbuvir-based therapy in this year (22%) when compared to assessment for Interferon/Ribavirin combination therapy (5%) in the previous year. A total of 361 patients had no esophageal or gastric varices. Small sized (grade I), medium sized (grade II) and large sized (grade III) varices were reported in 301, 188 and 293 patients respectively. thirty patients (2.6%) had gastric varices. the prevalence of varices was higher in Child B in comparison to Child A (statistically not significant, p = 0.243). Conclusion: Screening endoscopy for early cirrhotic patients awaiting oral anti-HCV therapy is valid.

Mill scale is very attractive industrial waste due to its richness in iron (about = 72% Fe). In this paper, the characterizations of mill scale were studied by different methods of analyses. the produced mill scale briquettes were reduced with hydrogen at varying temperatures, and the reduction kinetics was determined. two models were applied and the energy of activation was calculated.
