Aim: This study analyzed the effect of different finishing and polishing systems on the surface roughness of a microfilled (Amaris), and a nanofilled resin composite (Clearfil Majesty Esthetic) using Scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis and surface roughness tester. Materials and Methods: Thirty five specimens of each material were prepared in a plexiglass mold (10 mm in diameter and 2 mm in depth) and cured against a Mylar matrix strip to create a baseline surface. The average surface roughness was measured using a surface profilometer (Mahr Perthometer SP4, Germany) in three different positions on each sample before and after finishing with one of the seven finishing procedures: Procedure 1: Mylar strip (control), Procedure 2: Tungsten carbide burs, Procedure 3: Diamond burs, Procedure 4: Procedure 2 + one-step diamond micropolisher (PoGo), Procedure 5: Procedure 2 + multi-step discs (Super-snap), Procedure 6: Procedure 3 + one-step diamond micropolisher (PoGo), Procedure 7: Procedure 3 + multi-step discs (Super-snap). The obtained data were analyzed using two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Duncan test at a p = 0.05 significance level. Results: Nanofilled composite showed significantly lower Ra values than microfilled composite in procedures 4, 6 and 7 (p 0.05). Conclusion: Nanofilled resin composite showed significantly lower Ra values than microfilled resin composite. Regardless of finishing methods, diamond micro-polisher produced smoother surfaces than polishing discs.

In this article, we study the flows of curves in the Galilean 3-space and its equiform geometry without any constraints. We find that the Frenet equations and the intrinsic quantities of the inelastic flows of curves are independent of time. We show that the motion of curves in the Galilean 3-space and its equiform geometry are described by the inviscid and viscous Burgers' equations.

The aim of this study was to examine the prognostic factors and treatment outcomes of cervical esophageal carcinoma(CEC)patients who underwent definitive chemoradiotherapy(CRT).The clinical data of 175 biopsyconfirmed CEC patients treated with definitive CRT between April 2005 and September 2021 were retrospectively *** prognostic factors predicting overall survival(OS),progression-free survival(PFS),and local recurrence-free survival(LRFS)were assessed in uni-and multivariable *** median age of the entire cohort was 56 years(range:26–87 years).All patients received definitive radiotherapy with a median total dose of 60 Gy,and 52%of the patients received cisplatin-based concurrent *** 2-year OS,PFS,and LRFS rates were 58.8%,46.9%,and 52.4%,respectively,with a median follow-up duration of 41.6 ***’performance status,clinical nodal stage,tumor size,and treatment response were significant prognostic factors for OS,PFS,and LRFS in univariate ***-complete treatment response was an independent predictor for poor OS(HR=4.41,95%CI,2.78–7.00,p<0.001)and PFS(HR=4.28,95%CI,2.79–6.58,p<0.001),whereas poor performance score was a predictor for worse LRFS(HR=1.83,95%CI,1.12–2.98,p=0.02)in multivariable ***-two patients(29.7%)experienced grade II or higher *** this multicenter study,we demonstrated that definitive CRT is a safe and effective treatment for patients with *** radiation doses were found to have no effect on treatment outcomes,but a better response to treatment and a better patient performance status did.
