Phage-inducible chromosomal islands(PICIs)are a widespread family of mobile genetic elements,which have an important role in bacterial *** elements mobilize among bacterial species at extremely high frequencies,representing an attractive tool for the delivery of synthetic ***,tools for their genetic manipulation are limited and timing ***,we have adapted a synthetic biology approach for rapidly editing of PICIs in saccharomyces cerevisiae based on their ability to excise and integrate into the bacterial chromosome of their cognate host *** proof of concept,we engineered several PICIs from staphylococcus aureus and escherichia coli and validated this methodology for the study of the biology of these elements by generating multiple and simultaneous mutations in different PICI *** biotechnological purposes,we also synthetically constructed PICIs as Trojan horses to deliver different CRIsPR-Cas9 systems designed to either cure plasmids or eliminate cells carrying the targeted *** results demonstrate that the strategy developed here can be employed universally to study PICIs and enable new approaches for diagnosis and treatment of bacterial diseases.

Modern and paleoclimate changes may have altered species dynamics by shifting species’niche suitability over space and *** analyze whether the current genetic structure and isolation of the two large American felids,jaguar(Panthera onca)and puma(Puma concolor),are mediated by changes in climatic suitability and connection routes over modern and paleoclimatic *** estimate species distribution under 5 climatic landscapes(modern,Holocene,last maximum glaciations[LMG],average suitability,and climatic instability)and correlate them with individuals’genetic isolation through causal modeling on a resemblance *** species exhibit genetic isolation patterns correlated with LMG climatic suitability,suggesting that these areas may have worked as“allele refuges.”However,the jaguar showed higher vulnerability to climate changes,responding to modern climatic suitability and connection routes,whereas the puma showed a continuous and gradual transition of genetic *** differential responsiveness to climate change,both species are subjected to the climatic effects on genetic configuration,which may make them susceptible to future climatic changes,since these are progressing faster and with higher intensity than changes in the ***,the effects of climatic changes should be considered in the design of conservation strategies to ensure evolutionary and demographic processes mediated by gene flow for both species.

several previous papers have been published about radioactive contamination in Mexican soil, marine sediments and foodstuffs. Ever since, results have been according to expectation, mainly consisting of natural isotopes in small concentration. Continuous research leads with the surprising finding of fission product sup>137sup>Cs (tsub>1/2sub> = 30 years) in strawberries produced in different states, about 2000 km away from each other. Never before, such contaminant has been observed in foodstuffs, produced in this country. The aim of this work is to report the presence of sup>137sup>Cs in Mexican strawberries and compare the activity of such contaminant with the natural radioactivity of sup>40sup>K (tsub>1/2sub> = 1.28 × 10sup>9sup> years), through gamma spectrometry. Eventually, the specific activity of sup>137sup>Cs observed in samples FM4, FM5 and FBC is respectively 0.7, 0.8 and 0.3 Bq/kg. The limits established in CODEX-sTAN-193-1995 for sup>137sup>Cs are 1000 Bq/kg, so all samples meet the recommendation. It’s presence now in vegetables result with enough interest to be known and considered in the near future to measure the possible effect that radioactive contamination could reach after nearly 80 years from second world war, where no nuclear test has been performed, nuclear accident occurred, neither nuclear weapon has ever been used.

3β-(p-iodobenzoyloxy)-16α,17α-epoxypregn-4-en-6,20-dione (7), C28H31O5I, was synthesized from the commercially available 16-dehydropregnenolone acetate. X-ray diffraction analysis of (1) demonstrated that it consisted of four rings, three six-membered rings (A, B and C) and one five-membered ring (D). A, B, C and D rings occur in an envelope, deformed chair, deformed chair, and the half chair conformations, respectively. The absolute configurations of 7 for the chiral centers are 3s, 8s, 9s, 10R, 13s and 14s. The crystal of 3β-(p-iodobenzoyloxy)-16α,17α-epoxypregn-4-en-6,20-dione is in monoclinic crystal system with space group P21, lattice constants: a = 10.8567 (11), b = 7.5479 (7), c = 16.0391 (16) Å, β = 109.473 (1)°, V = 1239.1 (2) Å3, Dx = 1.518 g/cm3 and z = 2. The molecules in the crystal are stabilized by C-H···O interactions and van der Waals forces.

Epithelioid sarcoma(es), a mesenchymatous malign neoformation, is often diagnosed in later stages and associated with high recurrence index, metastasis and mortality. We report a case of a 65 years old male, with history of abdominal pain and upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Endoscopy demonstrated a posterior duodenal wall perforation communicating with a solid retroperitoneal neoformation. Endoscopic biopsy was performed, with a final report of es. The patient was submitted for surgical palliation due to the tumor's unresectability. Retroperitoneal es is an extremely rare condition with limited reports in the literature where guidelines for its optimal treatment are not well established.

Concordance in the Interpretation of Cervical Cytology for the Early Diagnosis of Cervical Cancer

Objective: To identify the diagnostic concordance in the interpretation of cervical smears. Material and Methods: Cross-sectional study from October 2011 to January 2013. 50 samples were read by every 4 cyto-technologists who are the total staffs that read and interpret cytological specimens from a public health institution of the city of san Luis Potosí, México. The cytological diagnosis was confirmed by a certified pathologist. checklist was developed to determine the quality of the interpretation composed of three sections: adequate sample, inadequate sample and cytological diagnosis. The diagnostic report was made by Bethesda system 2001 classification. Diagnostic concordance was measured through the Kappa coefficient. To establish the differences in cytological diagnosis between each cyto-technologist, chi square test was applied. Results: The concordance is acceptable in the classification of samples as inadequate (k = 0.66). The negative diagnosis was a significant concordance between each cytotechnologist and pathologist;however, no case had very good concordance. In the epithelial abnormalities, only the cytotechnologist 2 had significant concordance with the pathologist, however, its concordance is low. In the case of glandular abnormalities, only cytotechnologist 1 had no significant concordance with the pathologist. The percentage of true negatives was 30%, true positives 20%, false negatives 50% and false positives 0 %. There are significant differences between the readings of cyto-technologist 1 and 2 (p sions: The concordance between cyto-technologists and pathologists is below the required minimum level set by national and international standards.

Introduction and Aims: Acute appendicitis is a commonly established diagnosis in the approach of abdominal pain. It is usually due to an acute inflammatory process in the appendix. Nevertheless, there is a small percentage of cases due to non-frequent etiologies that are only identifiable based on histopathological analysis. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence and characterization of these unusual findings. Materials and Methods: The present study was a cross-sectional study in a third-level hospital in Mexico City. Clinical information was collected from unusual findings in the histopathological analysis of 1018 appendectomy specimens between January 2012 and April 2017. Results: In total, 1018 appendectomy specimens were included. In 11 of those appendices (1.08%), unusual findings compatible with appendicular tumors were identified. Carcinoid tumor found in the tip of the appendix was the most frequently reported finding. The muscular layer was affected in most cases;up to 25% of regional ganglia were invaded. Most of the patients presented with abdominal pain and clinical signs suggestive of acute appendicitis. The preferred approach for surgical treatment was laparoscopic. Discussion and Conclusion: The prevalence of unusual findings in our population was 1.08%, with carcinoid tumors the most frequently established diagnosis among those (0.58%), according to previously reported literature data.

The complete and incomplete fusion cross sections for ^(6)Li+^(209)Bi were measured using the in-beamγ-ray method around the Coulomb *** cross sections of(deuteron captured)incomplete fusion(ICF)products were re-quantified experimentally for this reaction *** results reveal that the ICF cross section is equivalent to that of complete fusion(CF)above the Coulomb barrier and dominant near or below the Coulomb barrier.A theoretical calculation based on the continuum discretized coupled channel(CDCC)method was performed for the aforementioned CF and ICF cross sections;the result is consistent with the *** universal fusion function(UFF)was also compared with the measured CF cross section for different barrier parameters,demonstrating that the CF suppression factor is significantly influenced by the choice of potential,which can reflect both dynamic and static effects of breakup on the fusion process.
