Vision rehabilitation using microperimetric biofeedback training in age-related macular degeneration

·AIM: To determine the impact of microperimetric biofeedback training(MBFT) on the quality of vision in patients with age-related macular degeneration(AMD).·METHODS: This study was a prospective, interventional, comparative study with subjects of patients diagnosed with AMD in the National Eye Center Cicendo Eye Hospital, Indonesia. Patients were randomly divided into two groups, intervention and non-intervention with 18 patients in each group. The intervention group would receive six MBFT training sessions of 10-minute time duration each.·RESULTS: A statistically significant improvement of best corrected visual acuity(BCVA) was found after the intervention, from 1.24±0.416 to 0.83±0.242(log MAR;P<0.001). A statistically significant improvement for near vision acuity(NVA) was also observed, from 1.02±0.307 log MAR to 0.69±0.278 log MAR(P<0.001). In addition, reading rate increased, from 40.83±30.411 to 65.06±31.598 words/min(P<0.001). Similarly, a comparison of changes in BCVA, NVA, and reading rate between intervention and non-intervention groups showed a significant difference(P<0.001).·CONCLUSION: MBFT significantly and positively impacts visual acuity, NVA, and reading rate in patients with AMD.

目的:比较超声乳化联合硅油取出术与硅油填充眼手法小切口白内障手术(MSICS)的安全性。方法:回顾性对比研究。162例患者162眼接受白内障手术,超声乳化联合硅油取出术与硅油填充眼手法小切口白内障手术均行玻璃体切除。结果:超声乳化白内障手术组术后低眼压21眼(18.91%)MSICS组术后低眼压8眼(15.68%),两组间无明显统计学差异(P=0.666)。术后1mo两组间视网膜复位率无明显统计学意义;超声乳化白内障手术组8例患者(7.2%)复发,硅油填充眼手法小切口白内障手术组9例(17.64%)复发,两组复发率比较,差异无统计学意义(P=0.055)。结论:硅油填充眼手法小切口白内障手术相较于超声乳化联合硅取出术在低眼压、渗漏、脉络膜脱离、视网膜复位率方面结果无劣效性。

Cloud computing has gained significant use over the last decade due to its several benefits,including cost savings associated with setup,deployments,delivery,physical resource sharing across virtual machines,and availability of on-demand cloud ***,in addition to usual threats in almost every computing environment,cloud computing has also introduced a set of new threats as consumers share physical resources due to the physical co-location ***,since there are a growing number of attacks directed at cloud environments(including dictionary attacks,replay code attacks,denial of service attacks,rootkit attacks,code injection attacks,etc.),customers require additional assurances before adopting cloud ***,the continuous integration and continuous deployment of the code fragments have made cloud services more prone to security *** this study,the model based on the root of trust for continuous integration and continuous deployment is proposed,instead of only relying on a single signon authentication method that typically uses only id and *** underlying study opted hardware security module by utilizing the Trusted Platform Module(TPM),which is commonly available as a cryptoprocessor on the motherboards of the personal computers and data center *** preliminary proof of concept demonstrated that the TPM features can be utilized through RESTful services to establish the root of trust for continuous integration and continuous deployment pipeline and can additionally be integrated as a secure microservice feature in the cloud computing environment.
