Bacteria living in sediments play essential roles in marine ecosystems and deeper insights into the ecology and biogeochemistry of these largely unexplored organisms can be obtained from‘omics’***,we characterized metagenome-assembled-genomes(MAGs)from the surface sediment microbes of the Venice Lagoon(northern Adriatic Sea)in distinct sub-basins exposed to various natural and anthropogenic *** were explored for biodiversity,major marine metabolic processes,anthropogenic activity-related functions,adaptations at the microscale,and biosynthetic gene *** from 126 MAGs,a non-redundant dataset of 58 was compiled,the majority of which(35)belonged to(Alpha-and Gamma-)*** the broad microbial metabolic repertoire(including C,n,and S metabolisms)the potential to live without oxygen emerged as one of the most important *** was also found as a successful *** analysis showed that different MAGs encoded the same metabolic patterns(e.g.,C fixation,sulfate oxidation)thus suggesting metabolic *** and toxic compounds resistance genes were coupled,a condition that could promote the spreading of these genetic *** showed a high biosynthetic potential related to antimicrobial and biotechnological classes and to organism defense and interactions as well as adaptive strategies for micronutrient uptake and cellular *** results highlighted that bacteria living in an impacted environment,such as the surface sediments of the Venice Lagoon,may benefit from metabolic plasticity as well as from the synthesis of a wide array of secondary metabolites,promoting ecosystem resilience and stability toward environmental pressures.

Compact stator structure of flux switching machines(FSMs)encompassing both permanent magnets(PMs)and armature winding slots(AWS)attract research interest whenever high power and density are the basic ***,it also results in temperature rises owing to heat generation by electromagnetic power losses degrading the electromagnetic performance and affecting machine *** this study,a segmented permanent magnet(SPM)consequent pole FSM(SPM-CPFSM)is developed,which provides a stator cooling channel(duct)for improved heat dissipation to avoid demagnetization of PM as well as ***,this study investigates detailed electromagnetic performance analysis and prediction of temperature variation in various machine parts owing to the heat generated by iron,copper,and magnet eddy current losses utilizing coupled electromagnetic-thermal analysis accounting for magnetic flux density *** comparison with the 2D analysis,the developed 3D coupled-field analysis more accurately predicts electromagnetic performance and temperature *** reveals that a cooling duct at the stator significantly assists in stator heat dissipation in the axial direction ensuring a safe operating condition of the PMs as well as machine parts to avoid overheating.

Animal model is an essential tool in the life sciences research, notably in understanding the pathogenesis of the diseases and for further therapeutic intervention success. Rodents have been the most frequently used animals to model human disease since the establishment of gene manipulation technique. However, they remain inadequate to fully mimic the pathophysiology of human brain disease, partially due to huge differences between rodents and humans in terms of anatomy, brain function, and social behaviors. nonhuman primates are more suitable in translational perspective. Thus, genetically modified animals have been generated to investigate neurologic and psychiatric disorders. The classical transgenesis technique is not efficient in that model; so, viral vector-mediated transgene delivery and the new genome-editing technologies have been promoted. In this review, we summarize some of the technical progress in the generation of an ad hoc animal model of brain diseases by gene delivery and real transgenic nonhuman primate.

Unique double salient structure of Permanent Magnet Flux Switching Machines(PMFSM)with both Concentrated Armature inding(CAW)and Permanent Magnet(PM)on stator attract researcher's interest for high speed brushless application when high torque density(T den)and power density(P den)are the primal ***,despite of stator leakage flux,high rare-earth PM usage,PMFSM is subjected to slot effects due to presence of both PM and CAW in stator and partial saturation due to double salient structure which generates cogging torque(T cog),torque ripples(Trip)and lower average torque(T avg).To overcomne aforesaid demerits,this paper presents Partitioned PM(PPM)Consequent Pole Flux Switching Machine(PPM-CPFSM)with flux barriers to enhance flux mnodulation,curtail PM usage and diminish stator leakage flux which reduces slotting effects and partial saturation to ultimately reduces T cog and Trip In comparison with the existing state of the art,proposed PPM-CPFSM reduces 46.5390 of the total PM volumne and offer Tavg higher up to 88.8%,suppress Trip naximun up to 24.8%,diminish Tcog up to 22.74%and offer 2.45 times Tden and ***,torque characteristics of proposed PPM-CPFSM is investigated utilizing space harmonics injection *** cosine,inverse cosine with 3rd harmonics and rotor pole shaping techniques i.e.,ecce ntric circle,chanfering and *** electromagnetic perfornance analysis reveals that harmonics injection suppressed Tcog maximun up to 83.5%,Trip up to 40.72%at the cost of 4.71%***,rotor mnechanical stress analysis is utilized for rotor withstand capability and 3D-FEA based Coupled Elctromagnetic Thermal Analysis(CETA)for thermal behavior of the developed PPM *** reveals that open space along PPM act as cooling duct that inprove heat dissipation.

Background:Strength-trained athletes using anabolic androgenic steroids(AAS)have left ventricular(LV)hypertrophy and myocardial fibrosis that can lead to sudden cardiac death.A similar feature was described in athletes with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy(HCM),which complicates the diagnosis for *** this context,we aimed to compare the LV function of the 2 populations by measuring global and regional strain and myocardial work using speckle-tracking ***:Twenty-four strength-trained asymptomatic athletes using AAS(AAS-Athletes),22 athletes diagnosed with HCM(HCM-Athletes),and 20 healthy control athletes(Ctrl-Athletes)underwent a resting echocardiography to assess LV *** evaluated LV global and regional strains and myocardial work,with an evaluation of the constructive work(CW),wasted work,and work efficiency(WE).Results:Compared to Ctrl-Athletes,both AAS-Athletes and HCM-Athletes had a thicker interventricular septum,with maj ored values in *** strain was reduced in AAS-Athletes and even more in ***,global WE was significantly diminished in both AAS and HCM-Athletes(93%±2%in Ctrl-Athletes,90%±4%in AAS-Athletes,and 90%±5%in HCM-Athletes(mean±SD);pnstructive work and WE regional analysis showed specific alterations,with the basal septal segments preferentially affected in AAS-Athletes,and both septal and apical segments affected in ***:The regional evaluation of myocardial work reported specific alterations of the major LV hypertrophy induced by the regular use of AAS compared to the LV hypertrophy due to *** finding could help clinicians to differentiate between these 2 forms of pathological hypertrophy.

The morphology and internal structure of the Horaine Bank(Bay of Saint-Brieuc,nW France)are described based on multibeam echosounder and high-resolution seismic datasets coupled with vibro-core *** Horaine Bank shows large-scale bedforms in the lee of a submerged rocky shoal,which allowed defining it as a Banner *** internal structure of the sandbank reveals four seismic units(U1-U4)on a Cambrian basement(U0).The basal unit U1 is interpreted as reworked lowstand fluvial sediments those infilled micro incised valleys during a rise in sea *** unit is overlain by paleo-coastal barrier sand-spit(U2)whose development was controlled by swell in the context of a rapid rise in sea *** successive prograding unit(U3)is interpreted as flooding deposits in continuity with unit *** unit U4 is characterized by oblique reflectors oriented in two opposite *** last unit,dated post 3500 yr BP,corresponds to migrating dunes superimposed on the bank and observable in the high-resolution bathymetric *** strong correlation between tidal currents and the apparent clockwise migration of dune crests suggests the presence of a tidal gyre controlling the present-day dynamics of most of the Horaine bank *** study proposes a new model for the construction of banner banks characterized by the gradual transition of a sand spit to a banner bank during marine transgression and ensuing hydrodynamic variability.
