This review looks over the current construction and demolition waste management(C&DWM)situations by scrutinizing the definition,classification,components,compositions,generated sources and causes,impacts of generated construction and demolition wastes(C&DWs),waste management hierarchy(WMH),3R principles(Reduce,Reuse,and Recycle),Circular Economy(CE),frameworks,tools,and approaches of C&*** reviewing the literature this study contributes to the literature by the following means:(a)suitable working definitions of C&DW and C&DWM are provided,(b)an expanded WMH for construction and demolition operations is presented,(c)frameworks of C&DWM are identified and listed as follows:frameworks based on WMH,including 3R principles and CE concept,frameworks focusing on the quantification,estimation,and prediction of generated C&DW,frameworks focusing on effective and sustainable C&DWM,frameworks focusing economic,social,and environmental performance assessment,frameworks based on multi-criteria analysis(MCA),frameworks based on post-disaster recovery period,and other miscellaneous frameworks,and(d)four categories of tools utilized in C&DWM are identified and explained,namely,approaches employed in C&DWM,information technology(IT)tools employed in C&DWM,multi-criteria decision analysis(MCDA)tools employed in C&DWM,and C&DWM ***,this study also found that CE,and green rating system(GRS)are widely used approaches,Building Information Modeling(BIM),Radio Frequency Identification(RFID),Geographic Information System,and Big Data are the extensively used IT tools,Analytical Hierarchy Process,FUZZY,TOPSIS(Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to the Ideal Solution),Weighted Summation,Elimination and Choice Expressing the Reality II,Elimination and Choice Expressing the Reality III,Evaluation of Mixed Data,and REGIME(REG)are the widely used MCA tools in C&DWM,and Prefabricated Construction and Modular Construction are broadly used C&DWM ***

This paper investigates the geotechnical behavior of uranium mill tailings from Saskatchewan, *** 4% tailings were well-graded with 29% fines whereas the 5% and 6% tailings were gap-graded with 49% fines. All samples exhibited a negligible strength(0.4 k Pa) up to 60% solids, followed by a rapid increase. The 4% tailings exhibited a lower rate and amount of settlement than 5% and 6% tailings. The kidecreased from 10^(-2)to 10^(-4)m/s with a decrease in eifrom 16 to 4 and a decrease in ef from 8 to 4 such that 4% tailings showed one order of magnitude lower values than the 5% and 6%tailings. The settling potential decreased ten times(50%–5%) for 4% tailings and four times(60%–15%)for 5% and 6% tailings. The effective stress increased from 80 to 260 Pa in the settling tests. The 4%tailings were less prone to segregation when compared with 5% and 6% tailings. The average solids content after settling was 35% for 4% tailings, 40% for 5% tailings and 39% for 6% tailings with a solids content deviation of ±3%, ±8%, ±6%, respectively. All materials were essentially non-segregating at 40%initial solids.

Although convolutional neural network(CNN)paradigms have expanded to transfer learning and ensemble models from original individual CNN architectures,few studies have focused on the performance comparison of the applicability of these techniques in detecting and localizing rice ***,most CNN-based rice disease detection studies only considered a small number of diseases in their *** these shortcomings were addressed in this *** this study,a rice disease classification comparison of six CNN-based deep-learning architectures(DenseNet121,Inceptionv3,MobileNetV2,resNext101,Resnet152V,and Seresnext101)was conducted using a database of nine of the most epidemic rice diseases in *** addition,we applied a transfer learning approach to DenseNet121,MobileNetV2,Resnet152V,Seresnext101,and an ensemble model called DEX(Densenet121,EfficientNetB7,and Xception)to compare the six individual CNN networks,transfer learning,and ensemble *** results suggest that the ensemble framework provides the best accuracy of 98%,and transfer learning can increase the accuracy by 17%from the results obtained by Seresnext101 in detecting and localizing rice leaf *** high accuracy in detecting and categorisation rice leaf diseases using CNN suggests that the deep CNN model is promising in the plant disease detection domain and can significantly impact the detection of diseases in real-time agricultural *** research is significant for farmers in rice-growing countries,as like many other plant diseases,rice diseases require timely and early identification of infected diseases and this research develops a rice leaf detection system based on CNN that is expected to help farmers to make fast decisions to protect their agricultural yields and quality.

Because roundabouts offer so many beneficial features to a community,it is important that they are made as safe as possible for all users and comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility *** have been several studies conducted with the purpose of creating a safer crossing environment for visually impaired pedestrians at *** studies focus on four methods:crosswalk placement,sound applications,signalized options,and automated yield *** purpose of this review paper is to explore these possible solutions,identifying the advantages and disadvantages,the practicality,and the overall performance of each *** research done here will also address which methods may be most appropriate for low volume roundabouts,moderate volume roundabout,and high volume roundabouts,as well as for one-lane roundabouts and two-lane *** evaluating each option,it’s also important to estimate the effect it will have on the flow of traffic and travel demand *** ideal solution will allow access to all users while maintaining the initial benefits of a roundabout.

This paper presents an unsupervised approach to cluster reviews of products collected from Amazon and then generates its labels of each *** of using a complete review,this paper splits a review into sentences and considers all sentences from the reviews as inputs for *** Agglomerative Clustering(HAC)is used to cluster *** approaches of cluster labeling are also *** labeling,three different methods have been used to find a limited number of essential words for each *** essential words are used to construct *** phrases are used as labels for each *** paper compares the result of the labeling method with baseline *** the result evaluation,all the labeling methods outperform the baseline *** aim of this research is cluster labeling that makes a set of labels to describe a cluster content and distinguishes the labels from other cluster labels.

Factors affecting residual exotropia after two muscle surgery for intermittent exotropia

AIM： To study the factors affecting residual exotropia（〉10 PD） at 4-6wk postoperative visit following two rectus muscle surgery for intermittent exotropia [bilateral lateral rectus（LR） recession or unilateral recess resect procedure].METHODS： A retrospective chart review of patients with intermittent exotropia ≤50 PD who underwent two rectus muscle surgery in between Jan. 2011 to Dec. 2013 was performed. Possible factors were compared between patients with residual exotropia（〉10 PD） and successful outcome（within 10 PD of orthotropia） at the 4-6wk postoperative visit. Effect/dose ratio was calculated by dividing the effect of surgery by the total amount（mm） of muscle surgery ***： One hundred and fifty-seven patients with mean age of 14y（range 3-53y） were included. Twentyseven patients（17.2%） had residual exotropia at 4-6wk postoperative follow up. Age at surgery（P=0.009） and preoperative deviation for distance（P≤0.001） and near（P=0.001） were identified as important predictors of unsuccessful outcome. The occurrence of residual exotropia was not affected by amblyopia, anisometropia, lateral incomitance, pattern deviation, vertical deviation, type of exotropia or type of surgery done（recess-resect or bilateral LR recession）. The effect/dose ratio was more in deviations 〉40 PD in the both recess-resect and bilateral LR recession type of surgery. The effect/dose ratio was less in patients with residual exotropia as compared to the successful outcome group（1.36 PD/mm vs 2.05 PD/mm in the bilateral LR recession surgery and 1.93 PD/mm vs 2.63 PD/mm in the unilateral recess-resect surgery）.CONCLUSION： Residual exotropia is seen in 17% of patients after two muscle surgery for intermittent exotropia. Patients with older age and larger preoperative deviation have greater chances of developing failure of two muscle strabismus surgery for intermittent exotropia.

FATIGUE LIFE PREDICTION OF SUS 630(H900) STEEL UNDER HIGH CYCLE LOADING

The fatigue life prediction of high strength steel SUS 630 （H900） under high cycle loading is conducted with consideration of a characteristic fatigue length of material. Based on the WShler curve of smooth materials, a modified method for fatigue life prediction is approached. The characteristic fatigue length of material under cyclic loading is associated with the polycrystalline material. Rather than the stress at a point, the average stress within the characteristic fatigue length is implemented for the fatigue life prediction. The method can be applied to both the smooth and the defected material. The fatigue life prediction is also verified experimentally by specimens with various small circular holes. Through the comparison, it is found that the method can be adopted to predict the fatigue lives with different size effects.

Diversification evidence of bitcoin and gold from wavelet analysis

To measure the diversification capability of Bitcoin,this study employs wavelet analysis to investigate the coherence of Bitcoin price with the equity markets of both the emerging and developed economies,considering the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent Russia-Ukraine *** results based on the data from January 9,2014 to May 31,2022 reveal that compared with gold,Bitcoin consistently provides diversification opportunities with all six representative market indices examined,specifically under the normal market *** particular,for short-term horizons,Bitcoin shows favorably low correlation with each index for all years,whereas exception is observed for *** addition,diversification between Bitcoin and gold is demonstrated as well,mainly for short-term ***,the diversification benefit is conditional for both Bitcoin and gold under the recent pandemic and war *** findings remind investors and portfolio managers planning to incorporate Bitcoin into their portfolios as a diversification tool to be aware of the global geopolitical conditions and other uncertainty in considering their investment tools and durations.
