Molecular evidence on the occurrence of co-infection with pichia guilliermondii and Wuchereria bancrofti in two filarial endemic districts of India

Background:Lymphatic filariasis(LF),a vector-borne parasitic disease,is endemic in several parts of India and mostly affects the poor or those with a *** disease results in huge numbers of morbidities,disabilities,and deaths every *** of co-infection with other pathogens makes the condition more *** co-infection is becoming a growing area of research,it is yet to emerge as a frontier research topic in filarial research *** study reports the occurrence of a fungal infection in a large number of patients suffering from bancroftian filariasis in two districts of West Bengal,***:Nocturnal blood samples from filarial patients containing parasites and fungus were initially co-cultured,and further the fungus was isolated and *** identification of the isolate was carried out by pCR-based selective amplification and sequencing of highly-conserved D1/D2 region of 26S rDNA,whereas pathogenicity was determined by amplification of the RpS0 gene.A phylogenetic tree was constructed to study the relationship between the isolate and common pathogenic *** isolate was studied for antibiotic sensitivity,whereas morphological characterization was performed by microscopic ***:The isolate was identified as pichia guilliermondii and this fungus was found to exist in co-infection with Wuchereria bancrofti in filarial *** fungus showed resistance to azole antifungals,griseofulvin,and,amphotericin B,whereas significant susceptibility was evident in cases of nystatin and cycloheximide.A total of 197 out of 222 patients showed this ***:This study revealed,for the first time,that *** exists as a co-infection in microfilaraemic individuals living in a filarial endemic *** findings are important and have relevance to human health,especially for filarial patients.

This paper reports that the experimental excitation functions of reaction （p,n） are measured for ^106pd and ^110pd at proton energy Ep = 6.1 - 7.5 MeV and Ep = 6.0 - 7.7 MeV respectively. The off-resonance excitation functions were compared with calculation values of the statistical model. A new formula used to estimate the peak cross section of isobaric analogue resonance was tested and it was found that calculation values agree reasonably well with the present data within experimental error, which confirms that the excitation strength of isobaric analogue state in （p,n） reaction not only depends on its spin, but also proportionally increases with the projectile proton spatial transmission Tp and the spectroscopic factor S for reaction （d,p） on the same target.

The Upper Devonian Semiluksk(Domanik)and Mendymsk carbonate successions have been identified as the most promising unconventional oil and gas deposits in Russia's Volga-Ural petroleum *** lithofacies were identified:limestones,organic matter-rich siliceous carbonate,and dolomitic limestones/*** sediments are thought to have accumulated in the relatively deep-sea shelf depositional *** to X-ray analysis,calcite is the most common mineral phase in the *** siliceous carbonate rocks'major mineral phases were identified to be quartz,followed by *** rocks have relatively poor reservoir qualities,with porosity ranging from 0.1 to 5%and permeability ranging from 0.01 to 10 *** examination of thin sections reveals four major types of pores:*** pores,which are abundant in all of the examined lithofacies;*** pores formed between dolomite crystals and the very fine components of the siliceous carbonate *** as a result of leaching,and *** as a result of tectonic and/or diagenetic *** the obtained data from the petrographically examined thin sections on the ternary pore plot diagram resulted in the identification of six pore facies and their related diagenetic *** facies 1 depicts the pores that formed during the depositional *** facies 4 displays moldic *** vugs are represented by pore facies *** facies 2 is a mixture between pore facies 1 and pore facies *** facies 3 is a mixture between pore facies 1 and pore facies *** facies 5 is a mixture between pore facies 4 and pore facies *** the petrographic results and the identified pore facies show that pore facies 6 have touching pores and they played the most important role in improving the reservoir *** pore facies 4 which have separate pores have the most influence in the reduction of the reservoir *** diagenetic origin secondary pores are the most

The author constructed a transformer Scp4 of functional programs. The transformer uses the technology known as Turchin's supercompilation. Scp4 was implemented in a functional language Refal 5. The input language for Scp4 is also Refal 5. In the present paper we give an outline of the supercompiler and consider a number of tools of the transformer in details. The tools can be formally thought of as quasi distributive laws.

AIM: To investigate the impact of primary reperfusion therapy(RT) on early and late mortality in acute right ventricular infarction(RVI). METHODS: RVI patients(n = 679) were prospectivelyclassified as without right ventricular failure(RVF)(class A, n = 425, 64%), with RVF(class B, n = 158, 24%) or with cardiogenic shock(CS)(class C, n = 96, 12%). Of the 679 patients, 148(21.7%) were considered to be eligible for thrombolytic therapy(TT) and 351(51.6%) for primary percutaneous coronary intervention(ppCI). TIMI 3-flow by TT was achieved for A, B and C RVI class in 65%, 64% and 0%, respectively and with ppCI in 93%, 91% and 87%, respectively. RESULTS: For class A without RT, the mortality rate was 7.9%, with TT was reduced to 4.4%(p ppCI to 3.2%(p ppCI, ppCI was superior(p p ppCI(p ppCI comparison, ppCI was superior(p pital mortality was 80%, with TT was 100% and with ppCI, the rate decreased to 44%(p ppCI was successful, the longterm mortality was lower than previously reported for the 3 RVI classes(A: 21%, B: 38%, C: 70%; p ppCI is superior to TT and reduces short/long-term mortality for all RVI categories. RVI CS patients should be encouraged to undergo ppCI at a specialized center.

A Chemiluminescence Optical Fiber Glucose Biosensor Based on Co-immobilizing Glucose Oxidase and Horseradish peroxidase in a Sol-gel Film

An optical fiber bienzyme sensor based on the luminol chemiluminescent reaction was developed and demonstrated to be sensitive to glucose. Glucose oxidase(GOD) and horseradish peroxidase(HRp) were co-immobilized by microencapsulation in a sol-gel film derived from tetraethyl orthosilicate(TEOS). The calibration plots for glucose were established by the optical fiber glucose sensor fabricated by attaching the bienzyme silica gel onto the glass window of the fiber bundle. The linear range was 0 2-2 mmol/L and the detection limit was approximately 0 12 mmol/L. The relative standard deviation was 5.3% ( n =6). The proposed biosensor was applied to glucose assay in ofloxacin injection successfully.

Molecular Analysis of the Huntington's Disease with Expanded CAG Trinucleotide Repeat in Chinese

The polymorphic CAG repeats in the IT15 gene in Chinese normal and Huntington’s dis-ease(HD)chromosomes were determined by using nested pCR and denaturing polyacry-lamide gel electrophoretic autoradiography as well as direct sequencing analysis.A total of40 normal individuals and 122 members of 13 unrelated HD families originating from Shang-hai,Jiangsu,Zhejiang,Anhui,Shandong,Guangdong and Henan,respectively,were in-volved in this *** results showed that the(CAG)n repeat numbers in 270 normal al-leles ranged from 13 to 26 but most in 16;while in 54 HD alleles,the CAG repeats from 40to 94,with an unstable inheritance of expanded repeats in some *** was no over-lap between the normal and affected ***,the presymptomatic diagnosis in103 family members at risk for HD disclosed that 35 individuals had HD alleles,which were-in accordance with the pedigree analysis and clinical *** these results indicatedthat the dynamic mutation in IT15 gene was responsible for the genetic defect in the ChineseHD patients and that a correlation existed between the numbers of(CAG)n repeat and theonset age of the ***-of these provide valuable data for HD molecular diagnosis,ge-netic counselling and genetic health.

Baiyun Cave in Naigu Shilin,Yunnan Karst,China

The Baiyun cave is a 380 m long karst cave in the Naigu Shilin, situated 70 km southeast of Kunming, Yunnan province, China. The prevailing orientations of the cave passages are N110°–120°E and N0°-10°W and those of the fissures in the cave are N30°–40°W and N20°–30°W. The cave is developed in the thick-bedded Lower permian Qixia Formation. The cave has an active water flow and is currently at the near water-table stage. There are large amounts of different infills of cave sediments. The cave shows different stages of paragenesis. The palaeomagnetic analysis of cave sediments shows that their ages are younger than 780 ka B.p. (the Brunhes Chron). The upper part of the sampled profile belongs to the reverse Blake event (112.3–117.9 ka B.p.). The formation of the Baiyun cave is directly connected with the development of the Naigu Shilin. The formation of karst underground and surface features depends on the regional tectonic deformation and the Cenozoic extension of the study area.
