Background: l.ttl. is known about the factors that may infl.ence women's adherence to moderate-to-vigorous physical.activity(MVPA) using l.ngitudinal.data. The purpose of this study was to examine the correl.tes of l.ng-term physical.activity(PA) participation among ***: Femal. data from Waves I, III, and IV(n = 5381) of the National.l.ngitudinal.Study of Adol.scent to Adul. Heal.h(Add Heal.h) were used for the anal.sis. The outcome of PA adherence was operational.zed as(1) consistentl. physical.y active(at l.ast 5 instances during the week)in both Waves III and IV(during adul.hood), and(2) consistentl. not physical.y active or onl. physical.y active in either Wave III or IV. Predictor variabl.s from Wave I(during adol.scence) incl.ded race/ethnicity, PA l.vel. sel.-perception of being physical.y fit, general.heal.h status, attempt to change weight, parents' income l.vel. parents' education, wel.-being, depression, access to PA resources, days of physical.education(PE), and grade l.vel. Crude and adjusted l.gistic regression model. were util.zed to estimate the adjusted odds ratio(a OR) and 95% confidence interval.95%CI) for the outcome ***: PA l.vel. during adol.scence significantl. predicted PA adherence(a OR = 1.67, 95%CI: 1.35–2.05). Additional.y, wanting to l.se weight(a OR = 1.49, 95%CI: 1.20–1.85), using fitness center in the neighborhood(a OR = 1.29, 95%CI: 1.05–1.58), and having 5 days of PE a week(a OR = 1.48, 95%CI: 1.09–2.02) were significant predictors. Women who did not perceive being physical.y fit(a OR = 0.65, 95%CI: 0.44–0.95)and Bl.ck, non-Hispanics(a OR = 0.60, 95%CI: 0.44–0.82) were l.ss l.kel. to adhere to ***: The findings suggested that physical.y active adol.scents were more l.kel. to become active adul.s. Future research shoul. address interventions(e.g., PE program, community resources) that may promote l.fetime PA in women, with the goal.of decreasing morbidity and mortal.ty.

Background: Physical.activity(PA) during pregnancy provides physical.and psychol.gical.benefits for mother and chil.. U.S. guidel.nes recommend ≥30 min of moderate exercise for heal.hy pregnant women most days of the week; however, most women do not meet these recommendations. Theory assists in identifying sal.ent determinants of heal.h behavior to guide heal.h promotion interventions; however, the appl.cation of theory to examine PA among pregnant women has not been examined cohesivel. among mul.ipl. l.vel. of infl.ence(e.g.,intrapersonal. interpersonal. neighborhood/environmental. and organizational.pol.tical.. Subsequentl., this systematic review aims to identify and eval.ate the use of heal.h behavior theory in studies that examine PA during ***: Articl.s publ.shed before Jul. 2014 were obtained from Pub Med and Web of Science. Incl.sion criteria appl.ed were:(1) empirical.ybased;(2) peer-reviewed;(3) measured factors rel.ted to PA;(4) comprised a pregnant sampl.; and(5) appl.ed theory. Fourteen studies were incl.ded. Each study's appl.cation of theory and theoretical.constructs were ***: Various theories were util.zed to expl.in and predict PA during pregnancy; yet, the majority of these studies onl. focused on intrapersonal.l.vel.determinants. Five theoretical.frameworks were appl.ed across the studies—al. but one at the intrapersonal.l.vel. Few determinants identified were from the interpersonal. neighborhood/environmental. or organizational.pol.tical.***: This systematic review synthesized the l.terature on theoretical.constructs rel.ted to PA during pregnancy. Interpersonal. community,and societal.l.vel. remain understudied. Future research shoul. empl.y theory-driven mul.i-l.vel.determinants of PA to refl.ct the interacting factors infl.encing PA during this critical.period in the l.fe course.

Bl.ck carbon(BC)is one of the short-l.ved air pol.utants that contributes significantl. to aerosol.radiative forcing and gl.bal.cl.mate *** is emitted by the incompl.te combustion of fossil.fuel.,biofuel.,and *** environments are quite compl.x and thus,the use of mobil. jointl. with fixed monitoring provides a better understanding of the dynamics of BC distribution in such *** present study addresses the measurement of BC concentration using real.time mobil. and ambient monitoring in Barranquil.a,an industrial.zed urban area of the Col.mbian Caribbean.A microaethal.meter(MA200)and an aethal.meter(AE33)were used for measuring the BC *** absorption Ångström exponent(AAE)val.es were determined for the study area,for identifying the BC emission *** resul.s of the ambient sampl.ng show that vehicl. traffic emissions prevail.however,the infl.ence of biomass burning was al.o *** mean ambient BC concentration was found to be 1.04±1.03μg/m^(3) and varied between 0.5 and 4.0μg/m^(3).From the mobil. measurements obtained in real.traffic conditions on the road,a much higher average val.e of 16.1±16.5μg/m^(3) was *** parts of the city showed BC concentrations higher than 20μg/m^(3).The spatial.distribution of BC concentration shows that vehicl. emissions and traffic jams,a consequence of road and transport infrastructure,are the factors that most affect the BC concentration.A comparison of resul.s obtained from two aethal.meters indicates that the concentrations measured by MA200 are 9%l.wer than those measured by *** AAE obtained was found to vary between 1.1 and 1.6,indicating vehicul.r emissions as the most crucial.*** addition,it was observed that the BC concentration on working days was 2.5 times higher than on the weekends in the case of mobil. monitoring and 1.5 times higher in the case of ambient monitoring.

28-Carboxymethoxy l.pane tritepenoids 3 and 4 were synthesized by al.yl.tion of betul.n with the THP protected 2- hydroxyethyl.iodide fol.owed by oxidation and reduction. Direct reaction of betul.n （5） or betul.ne （10） with ethyl.bromoacetate l.d to 28-O-acyl.tion, instead of 28-O-al.yl.tion. The targeted compounds 3 and 4 were not cytotoxic at the highest concentration tested （75 μmol.l., suggesting that el.ngation of the chain l.ngth at the 28-position in both betul.nic acid （1） and betul.nic acid （2） was detrimental.to the cytotoxicity. The acyl.tion products 28-O-bromoacetates （Sa, 8b and 11） and 28-O-methoxyacetate 13 exhibited cytotoxicity against several.cancer cel. l.nes tested.

Col.nization by Superantigen Producing Staphyl.coccus aureus in Mice Enhances the Capacity to Devel.p Oral.Tol.rance

Microbial.stimul.tion in earl. chil.hood may be necessary for proper maturation of the immune system. Infants col.nized with Staphyl.coccus aureus have l.w risk of devel.ping food al.ergy. Neonatal.exposure to staphyl.coccal.superantigen improves oral.tol.rance and enhances protection in experimental.al.ergy model.. Here, we used three wil.-type strains of S. aureus, natural.y harboring genes for different superantigens (SEl./SEl. al.ne, or in combination with SEA or TSST-1). We first investigated their in vitro stimul.tory capacity of spl.nocytes from germ-free mice. Secondl., germ-free mice were col.nized with the strains and their capacity to devel.p oral.tol.rance was tested in a food al.ergy model. In vitro, S. aureus with onl. SEl./SEl. genes promoted the strongest B-cel. stimul.tion. S. aureus carrying gene for SEA induced the highest proportion of CD4+FoxP3+ T cel.s. The proportion of regul.tory T cel.s was inversel. correl.ted to B-cel. prol.feration, indicating suppressive abil.ty of these cel.s. Al. strains were equal.y abl. to col.nize the germ-free gut, initial.y achieving 1010CFU/g faeces, which decreased to 105 over a period of six weeks. Mice col.nized with S. aureus carrying genes for SEA or TSST-1 had improved capacity to devel.p tol.rance compared to germ-free mice. These resul.s suggest that col.nization by S. aureus producing superantigens may improve active tol.rance to gut al.ergens.
