In this paper, a time-dependant calculation of flow in a lobe pump is presented. Calculations are performed using the arbitrary Lagrangean eulerean (ALe) method. A grid manipulator is needed to move the nodes between time steps. The used grid manipulator is based on the pseudo-force idea. This means that each node is fictitiously cormeeted with its 8 neighbours via fictitious springs. The equilibrium of the resulting pseudo spring forces defines the altered position of the nodes. The grid manipulator was coupled with a commercial flow solver and the whole was tested on the flow through a three-lobe lobe pump. Results were obtained for a rotational speed of 460 rpm and incompressible silicon oil as fluid.

To investigate the HBV infection and its replication in Chinese patients with chronic liver disease, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was employed to detect hepatitis B virus DNA in sera of 410 patients with chronic liver disease and liver samples from 188 patients. The HBV DNA detectability in all serum samples was 58%. Among them 100% HBeAg-positive and 58% anti-HBe cases were HBV DNA detectable respectively. However, HBV DNA was also found in 23% HBsAg-negative/anti-HBc postitive chronic cases. Furthermore, 30% anti-HBs positive chronic cases who had neutralizing antibody against HBV infection, continued to contain HBV DNA. Our findings indicate that HBV infection and its replication are dominant cause of chronic liver disease and some HBV variants may escape from the protective antibody to induce chronic liver disease, even anti-HBs antibody circulated.

This paper focuses on the use of models for increasing the precision of estimators in large-area forest surveys. It is motivated by the increasing availability of remotely sensed data, which facilitates the development of models predicting the variables of interest in forest surveys. We present, review and compare three different estimation frameworks where models play a core role： model-assisted, model-based, and hybrid estimation. The first two are well known, whereas the third has only recently been introduced in forest surveys. Hybrid inference mixes design- based and model-based inference, since it relies on a probability sample of auxiliary data and a model predicting the target variable from the auxiliary *** review studies on large-area forest surveys based on model-assisted, model- based, and hybrid estimation, and discuss advantages and disadvantages of the approaches. We conclude that no general recommendations can be made about whether model-assisted, model-based, or hybrid estimation should be preferred. The choice depends on the objective of the survey and the possibilities to acquire appropriate field and remotely sensed data. We also conclude that modelling approaches can only be successfully applied for estimating target variables such as growing stock volume or biomass, which are adequately related to commonly available remotely sensed data, and thus purely field based surveys remain important for several important forest parameters.

AIM: To provide an overview of the clinical outcomes of self-expandable metal stent(SeMS) placement for malignant gastric outlet obstruction(MGOO).MeTHODS: A systematic literature search was performed in Pub Med of the literature published between January 2009 and March 2015. Only prospective studies that reported on the clinical success of stent placement for MGOO were included. The primary endpoint was clinical success,defined according to the definition used in the original article. Data were pooled and analyzed using descriptive statistics. Subgroup analyses were performed for partially covered SeMSs(PCSeMSs) and uncovered SeMSs(UCSeMSs) using Fisher's exact ***: A total of 19 studies,including 1281 patients,were included in the final analysis. Gastric(42%) and pancreatic(37%) cancer were the main causes of MGOO. UCSeMSs were used in 76% of patients and PCSeMSs in 24%. The overall pooled technical success rate was 97.3% and the clinical success rate was 85.7%. Stent dysfunction occurred in 19.6% of patients,mainly caused by re-obstruction(12.6%) and stent migration(4.3%),and was comparable between PCSeMSs and UCSeMSs(21.2% vs 19.1%,respectively,P = 0.412). Re-obstruction was more common with UCSeMSs(14.9% vs 5.1%,P ent migration was more frequent after PCSeMS placement(10.9% vs 2.2%,P e overall perforation rate was 1.2%. Bleeding was reported in 4.1% of patients,including major bleeding in 0.8%. The median stent patency ranged from 68 to 307 d in five studies. The median overall survival ranged from 49 to 183 d in 13 ***: The clinical outcomes in this large population showed that enteral stent placement was feasible,effective and safe. Therefore,stent placement is a valid treatment option for the palliation of MGOO.

From a Darwinian perspective we live to reproduce, but in various situations genetic males elect not to reproduce by choosing medical treatments leading to infertility, impotence, and, in the extreme, emasculation. For many men, infertility can be psychologically distressing. However, for certain genetic males, being infertile may improve their quality of life. examples include （1） men who seek vasectomy, （2） individuals with Gender Dysphoria （e.g., transwomen, and modern day voluntary eunuchs）, （3） most gay men, and （4） men treated for testicular and prostate cancer. Men who desire vasectomy typically have a Darwinian fitness W 〉1 at the time of their vasectomies; i.e., after they have their desired number of offspring or consider themselves past an age for parenting newborns. In contrast, prostate and testicular cancer patients, along with individuals with extreme Gender Dysphoria, do not necessarily seek to be sterile, but accept it as an unavoidable consequence of the treatment for their condition undertaken for survival （in case of cancer patients） or to achieve a better quality of life （for those with Gender Dysphoria）. Most gay men do not father children, but they may play an avuncular role, providing for their siblings＇ offspring＇s welfare, thus improving their inclusive fitness through kin selection. In a strictly Darwinian model, the primary motivation for all individuals is to reproduce, but there are many situations for men to remove themselves from the breeding populations because they have achieved a fitness W 〉1, or have stronger medical or psychological needs that preclude remaining fertile.

The high Li-ion conductivity of the Li7P3S11 sulfide-based solid electrolyte makes it a promising candidate for all-solid-state lithium batteries. The Li-ion transport over electrode-electrolyte and electrolyteelectrolyte interfaces, vital for the performance of solid-state batteries, is investigated by impedance spectroscopy and solid-state NMR experiments. An all-solid-state Li-ion battery is assembled with the Li7P3S11 electrolyte, nano-Li2S cathode and Li-In foil anode, showing a relatively large initial discharge capacity of 1139.5 m Ah/g at a current density of 0.064 m A/cm^ 2 retaining 850.0 m Ah/g after 30 cycles. electrochemical impedance spectroscopy suggests that the decrease in capacity over cycling is due to the increased interfacial resistance between the electrode and the electrolyte. 1D exchange ^7Li NMR quantifies the interfacial Li-ion transport between the uncycled electrode and the electrolyte, resulting in a diffusion coefficient of 1.70(3) ×10^-14cm^2/s at 333 K and an energy barrier of 0.132 e V for the Li-ion transport between Li2S cathode and Li7P3S11 electrolyte. This indicates that the barrier for Li-ion transport over the electrode-electrolyte interface is small. However, the small diffusion coefficient for Li-ion diffusion between the Li2S and the Li7P3S11 suggests that these contact interfaces between electrode and electrolyte are relatively scarce, challenging the performance of these solid-state batteries.

在气候变化背景下,全球极端事件近年来显著增加,严重威胁湖泊生态系统健康及生态服务功能.本研究基于2000~2022年MODIS卫星遥感数据,量化了2022年罕见极端高温事件对我国湖泊的影响.结果表明,该极端高温事件导致中国湖泊表层水温平均升高了1.63℃,远超过去20年的增温幅度.其中,淮河流域和西南诸河流域湖泊受此影响最为明显,分别升高了2.01和1.81℃.不仅如此,该事件引发了长江流域严重干旱,造成鄱阳湖水位下降了55.07%、面积减少了73.32%,从而导致鱼类等水生生物大量死亡、鸟类失去栖息地,多地饮用水短缺.
