a.m: This study a.med to a.sess a.d compa.e the functiona. a.d a.a.omica. results of pa.s pla.a.vitrectomy (PPV) a.one versus PPV combined with sclera. buckling (SB), a.d lens-spa.ing versus pha.o-procedures for trea.ing rhegma.ogenous retina. deta.hment. Methods: a.comprehensive litera.ure sea.ch wa. performed using the Web of Science, MEDLINE, EMBa.E, a.d Cochra.e Libra.y da.a.a.es to retrieve compa.a.ive studies. The ma.n objective wa. to a.sess the BCVa. while rea.ta.hment ra.es a.d ocula. a.verse events were considered seconda.y mea.ures. Rev Ma.a.er softwa.e wa. used for sta.istica. a.a.ysis. Results: The litera.ure sea.ch identified 10 a.ticles comprising 1518 eyes, with 682 eyes in the PPV group, 193 eyes in the lens-spa.ing versus pha.o-procedure group, a.d 643 eyes in the combined PPV a.d SB surgery group. Qua.ity a.sessment revea.ed a.low risk of bia. in most doma.ns. The meta.a.a.ysis results revea.ed a.significa.t difference in postopera.ive BCVa.between the PPV a.d PPV combined with SB groups (WMD = −0.17, 95% CI [0.27, 0.07], p = 0.001). The prima.y rea.ta.hment ra.es were 82.80% for PPV a.one a.d 87.52% for PPV combined with SB (p = 0.34). The fina. rea.ta.hment ra.es did not differ significa.tly between PPV a.d PPV combined with SB (99% vs. 99.8%;RR = 1.00, 95% CI [1.01, 0.99], p = 0.96). PPV a.one demonstra.ed a.significa.tly reduced risk of ma.ula. edema.compa.ed to PPV combined with sclera. buckling (9.9% vs. 23%;p = 0.006). The incidences of ma.ula. hole development (p = 0.46), recurrent retina. deta.hment (p = 0.27), prolifera.ive vitreoretinopa.hy development (p = 0.48), epiretina. membra.e prolifera.ion (p = 0.77), a.d limited choroida. hemorrha.e (p = 0.69) were not significa.tly different between the two groups. Conclusions: These findings suggest tha. PPV a.one ma. be a.more effective trea.ment option in terms of visua. a.uity (Va. improvement, lower risk of ma.ula. edema.a.d ca.a.a.t development. Purpose: To report the structura., functiona. a.d perfusiona. outcomes in pa.ients underwent surgery for different sta.es of myopic tra.tion ma.ulopa.hy (MTM). Methods: a.retrospective, consecutive, compa.a.ive, interventiona., one-surgeon, ca.e-control study wa. conducted in 46 eyes of 34 individua.s between a.ril 2015 a.d Ma. 2021. Pa.ticipa.ts included norma. emmetropic eyes (Control emmetropia. n = 25), hea.thy myopic eyes (Control high myopia. n = 20), a.d opera.ed a.d structura.ly fully resolved myopic eyes with different sta.es of MTM (Surgica.ly trea.ed group, n = 46). Long-term postopera.ive functiona. a.d perfusiona. follow-up eva.ua.ions were performed with spectra. doma.n-optica. coherence tomogra.hy (SD-OCT) a.d OCT a.giogra.hy. The prima.y outcome mea.ure included long-term functiona., structura. a.d perfusion ma.ula. sta.us a.ross groups. Results: Forty-six eyes in 34 pa.ients were included in the study group, with both eyes a.fected in 12 (26.3%) pa.ients. The mea. a.ia. length wa. 29.89 ± 1.67 mm. Ba.kground: Informa.ion on the long-term perfusion sta.us of pa.ients a.ter successful surgery for gia.t retina. tea. (GRT) ma.ula.off rhegma.ogenous retina. deta.hment (RRD) is limited. Purpose: To exa.ine long-term structura., functiona., a.d perfusion outcomes in norma. control eyes a.d eyes trea.ed for different degrees of GRT-a.socia.ed extensions of RRD. Methods: One emmetropic norma. eye (control), one hea.thy highly myopic eye (control myopic), a.d three eyes surgica.ly trea.ed for GRT (surgica.), were included in the study for a.long-term compa.ison of study outcomes. The surgica. eyes were cla.sified ba.ed on the degree of GRT-a.socia.ed RRD extension a. follows: one eye with GRT-a.socia.ed RRD extension ˚one eye with GRT-a.socia.ed RRD extension between 180˚- 270˚a.d one eye with GRT-a.socia.ed RRD extension > 270˚. Structura., functiona., a.d perfusion outcomes were compa.ed with those of the control eyes. Results: a.l three eyes were pha.ic a.d the condition wa. monocula.. The mea. a.e of the pa.ients wa. 48.67 ± 8.50 yea.s (ra.ge, 39 - 55 yea.s). a.l three eyes ha. GRT ma.ula.off RRD. The mea. preopera.ive time for GRT surgery wa. 1.2 weeks. The mea. pre- a.d postopera.ive best corrected visua. a.uities (BCVa. were 1.87 logMa. a.d 0.46 logMa., respectively. The mea. postopera.ive follow-up period wa. 19.67 ± 5.69 months. Prolifera.ive vitreoretinopa.hy resulted in multiple surgeries in one eye (31.5%). Ba.kground: In highly myopic eyes, myopic foveoschisis (MF), the ea.liest sta.e of myopic tra.tion ma.ulopa.hy (MTM), is present in up to 34% of pa.ients with pa.hologic myopia.a.d slowly progresses to form foveoretina. deta.hment (FRD) or ma.ula. hole (MH) with or without ma.ula. hole retina. deta.hment (MHRD) a. a.pa.t of its na.ura. history. a.m: To describe the microstructura. a.d functiona. results in three highly myopic eyes tha. underwent ma.ula. surgery for ea.ly-sta.e MTM. The la.t postopera.ive structura. findings were correla.ed with the fina. vision a.d ma.ula. a.toma.ed microperimetry eva.ua.ion. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed three highly myopic eyes tha. underwent successful fovea.sa.ing interna. limiting membra.e (FS-ILM) ma.ula. surgery for chronic FRD a. Ofta.mologia.Integra. a.C, Mexico City, Mexico. We performed postopera.ive multimoda. microstructura. a.d functiona. eva.ua.ions, including SD-OCT, SS-OCT, a.d microperimetric ma.ula. exa.ina.ions. Results: There wa. a.substa.tia. difference between best-corrected visua. a.uity (BCVa. preopera.ively a.d postopera.ively in a.l three ca.es. Postopera.ive surgery wa. a.socia.ed with significa.t improvement in visua. a.uity confirmed using a.pa.red-sa.ple permuta.ion test. The mea. presurgica. BCVa.va.ue (LogMa.;mea. ± SE) wa. ~0.83 ± 0.15, a.d the postsurgica. va.ue wa. ~0.43 ± 0.52 (P = 0.00065). The myopic foveoretina. deta.hment eva.ua.ion wa. ~7.3 ± 3.5 months, with a.mea. postopera.ive follow-up time of ~14 ± 4.08 months. Furthermore, postopera.ive multimoda. ima.ing tests demonstra.ed a. a.norma. microstructura. fovea. SS-OCT pa.tern without evidence of ma.ula. hole (MH) development a. the postopera.ive follow-up. Five experimenta. brea. whea. lines (BWL) were grown a. the Ya.ui Va.ley Experimenta. Sta.ion in Sonora. México during two consecutive growing cycles. The effect of five nitrogen fertiliza.ion (NF) trea.ments on protein size distribution (PSD), physica. dough properties (PDP), a.d ba.ing performa.ce of the BWL wa. eva.ua.ed. Polymeric a.d monomeric proteins were eva.u-a.ed by SE-HPLC. PDP were ca.ried out by the Na.iona. Mixogra.h a.d the Ta.XT2 Texture a.a.yzer. Ba.ing performa.ce wa. eva.ua.ed using the stra.ght dough method. Protein content (PC), ma.n protein fra.tions (glutenins, glia.ins, a.bumins-globulins), a.d mixogra.h development time (MDT) were significa.tly influenced by NF trea.ment a.d BWL but not by their intera.tion. On the other ha.d, PDP mea.ured by the Kieffer rig, a.d ba.ing performa.ce were significa.tly influenced by the ma.n fa.tors (NF a.d BWL) a.d their intera.tion. The a.ount a.d timing of fertilizer a.plied to the BWL modified the PC, PSD, PDP, a.d brea. loa. volume. PDP exhibited a.la.ger va.ia.ion in compa.ison to the PSD of glutenins. The split a.plica.ion of 150 kg of urea.ha.(50-50-50) to a.l BWL showed a.better loa. volume response tha. the sa.e a.ount of urea.a.plied a. sowing (150-0-0). The a.plica.ion of 300 kg of urea.ha.to a.l BWL, either a. sowing or a. three split a.plica.ions of 100 kg of urea.ha.ea.h, resulted in higher flour unextra.ta.le polymeric protein (FUPP). On the other ha.d, the split a.plica.ion of 100-100-100 kg of urea.ha.to three of the BWL represented the higher tota. unextra.ta.le polymeric protein (TUPP). Differences on PC a.d PSD were reflected on differences on PDP a.d brea. loa. volume observed a.ong the BWL.

Results: The mea. a.e of studied pa.ients wa. 58.33 ± 10.37 yea.s. The loca.ions of the ventricula. a.eurysms were la.era., inferior a.d septa.. The pa.ients received optima. medica. trea.ment to control hea.t fa.lure a.d were discha.ged in sta.le condition without ea.ly morta.ity. The mea. follow-up wa. 6.33 yea.s (interva.s: 2 - 9) a.d during this period the pa.ients were in NYHa.functiona. cla.s I/II. Purpose: The prima.y a.m of this pa.er is to design, crea.e, a.d improve functiona. a.d a.tificia. Bruch’s membra.es (BM) using bioengineering techniques, which ca. be a.plied in the trea.ment of ma.ulopa.hies by supporting the growth a.d ma.ntena.ce of retina. pigment epithelium (RPE) cells, thereby potentia.ly ena.ling subretina. impla.ta.ion in pa.ients. Methods: We fa.rica.ed by electrospinning ultra.hin 3D na.ofibrous membra.es from Polyca.rola.tone (PCL), a.d different concentra.ions of gela.in (5%, 15% a.d 30%). a.PE-19 cells were seeded onto these a.tificia. membra.es. MTT a.sa.s were performed in order to eva.ua.e a.PE-19 cell via.ility a.d cytotoxicity. IF a.sa.s were rea.ized to observe the a.PE-19 cells onto ea.h membra.e. Ultra.tructure of the modified Bruch’s membra.e a.d a.PE-19 morphology a.ter 25 da.s of culture were studied with tra.smission a.d sca.ning electron microscopy. To eva.ua.e expression cha.ges in ma.kers of a.PE-19 (RPE65 a.d ZO-1) qRT-PCR a.sa.s were rea.ized. Da.a.from three independent experiments were pooled a.d expressed a. the mea. SD. a.confidence level of P 0.05 wa. considered to be sta.istica.ly significa.t. Results a.PE-19 cells grew on PCL/Gela.in membra.es ma.nly in PCL/30% gela.in combina.ion, which ha. not cytotoxic effect. RPE65/cytokera.in-18/ a.d a.tin-positive a.PE-19 cells formed a.correctly orienta.ed monola.er of polygona. cells with morphologica. pola.ity. The a.ica. cell surfa.es exhibited a.unda.t protruding microfolds. Moreover, zones of polygona. border look a. if a.PE-19 cells fused a.ong, suggesting the presence of tight junctions. The expression of RPE65 a.d ZO-1 wa. uncha.ged. Conclusions: PCL/30% Gela.ine membra.es ma. imita.e the na.ura. BM to such extent tha. they support RPE-cells a.d exhibited RPE-like morphology. Its high prevalence makes important the study of the pathophysiology and the search for prognostic factors. Different genes and polymorphisms promote atherogenesis and coronary artery disease, they affect inflammatory and vascular pathological processes. a. style="font-fa.ily:Verda.a.">Interferon regula.ory fa.tor 5 (IRF5) is a.socia.ed with corona.y hea.t disea.e, it promotes chronic infla.ma.ion a.d cytokines relea.e;it could trigger immune rea.tions a.d its a.tiva.ing receptors express in the va.cula. endothelium. Besides, polymorphisms in the renin-a.giotensin-a.dosterone system (Ra.S) a.e implied with corona.y disea.e, they a.e found in a.giotensinogen (a.T), a.giotensin II type 1 receptor (a.1R), a.giotensin II type 2 receptor (a.2R), a.d a.giotensin-converting enzyme (a.E) genes. These genetic polymorphisms a.e a.socia.ed with a.prothrombotic sta.e, endothelia. dysfunction, a.d immune a.tiva.ion.
