Cardiovascular diseases are serious pathologies that affect an increasing number of people. Several preventive measures are generally used, including supplementing of oils in foods. Our objective was to compare the effects of tetracarpidum conophorum oil (tC) and corn oil (CO) on serum lipid profiles of normal male rats. 42 Wistar rats were divided into 7 groups. Diets included tC oil (groups tC5, tC10 and tC20) and corn oil (groups CO5, CO10 and CO20) in proportions of 5%, 10% and 20%, with a control group (t). After 5 weeks of feeding, several parameters were measured during and after the study, including body weight, food intake and organ weights (kidney, liver and fat). Lipid profiles (total cholesterol, tG, HDL and LDL), glucose and protein levels were measured in the serum. the increase in body mass was inversely proportional to the amount of oil in the food. the decrease in body mass and adiposomatic index of group tC10 was significant (p th the other groups. the lowest glycaemia (64.17 ± 5.14 mg/dl) was noted with the diet containing 20% tC oil. A significant reduction in total cholesterol, LDL fraction and blood triglycerides was observed in the groups supplemented with tC and corn oils compared to controls. Results were also more beneficial for the tC10 group. HDL-cholesterol levels were significantly higher (p the oil-supplemented groups than in the control group. Castelli’s risk indices decrease significantly (p th increasing oil content for tC. the oils had no impact on blood protein contents. One can conclude that a diet containing 10% crude oil from tC kernels could prevent or alleviate cardiovascular diseases and glycemia.

目的探讨甲状腺激素水平与司法精神医学鉴定中交通事故所致颅脑外伤患者的关系。方法选取2022年5月至2023年5月司法鉴定所进行司法精神医学鉴定为交通事故所致颅脑损伤且存在一定的精神障碍的92例被鉴定人为研究对象,根据其病情将其分为边缘精神障碍组(n=41)、轻度精神障碍组(n=35)、中度精神障碍组(n=10)、重度精神障碍组(n=6),另选取就诊的50例非颅脑损伤和精神障碍患者,分别分析不同程度颅脑损伤、精神障碍患者和非精神障碍患者、精神障碍不同等级患者及重度精神障碍患者存活与死亡的甲状腺激素水平、伤残鉴定结果及其与甲状腺激素、精神障碍分级的关系。结果中、重型颅脑损伤组t_(3)、Ft_(3)水平均低于轻型颅脑损伤组,且3组t_(3)、Ft_(3)水平均随着颅脑损伤程度的加重而呈现出明显下降趋势(Pt_(3)、Ft_(3)水平均较正常组低(Pt_(3)、Ft_(3)水平均低于边缘精神障碍组,且4组t_(3)、Ft_(3)水平均随着精神障碍病情的加重而呈现出明显下降趋势(Pt_(3)、Ft_(3)水平均低于轻度精神伤残组,且3组t_(3)、Ft_(3)水平均随着精神伤残程度的增加而呈现出明显下降趋势(Pt分析检验结果显示,精神障碍分级与颅脑损伤程度有相关性(P0.05),与精神障碍分级之间有相关性(Pt_(3)、Ft_(3)水平与颅脑损伤合并精神障碍、精神伤残鉴定结果存在相关性。

the necessity to saline and sodic waters is sometimes used for irrigating agricultural activities under certain circumstances, but it is important to note that the use of these waters comes with specific considerations and limitations. One way to decrease undesirable effects of sodic waters on the physical and chemical properties of soils is to apply organic and chemical amendments within the soil. this study aimed to assess the effectiveness of saline water on soil acidity, alkalinity and nutrients leaching in sandy loamy soil at Bella flower farm, in Rwamagana District, Rwanda. the water used was from the Muhazi Lake which is classified as Class I (Saline water quality). Column leaching experiments using treated soils were then conducted under saturated conditions. the soil under experimental was first analyzed for its textural classification, soil properties and is classified as sandy loamy soil. the t-test was taken at 1%, 5% and 10% levels of statistical significance compared to control soil. the results indicated that the application of saline water to soils caused an increase in some soil nutrients like increase of Phosphorus (P), Potassium (K+), Magnesium (Mg2+), Sulphur (S), CN ratio and Sodium (Na+) and decreased soil texture, physical and chemical properties and remained soil nutrients. Consequently, the intensive addition of saline water leachates to soil in PVC pipes led to decreased of soil EC through leaching and a raiser Soluble Sodium Percentage (SSP). the rate of saline water application affected the increase accumulation of SAR and Na% in the top soil layers. the study indicated that saline water is an inefficient amendment for sandy soil with saline water irrigation. the study recommends further studies with similar topic with saline water irrigation, as it accentuated the alkalinity levels.

Ammoniated bagasse is a plant-derived organic sorbent that can be used for capturing oil and for supplying slow-release nutrients to oil-degrading microorganisms. We investigated the oil-wicking behavior of this sorbent under various conditions for its effectiveness in remediating oil-contaminated wetlands. Abiotic microcosms simulating a wetland environment were used to assess the influence of sand particle sizes （20x30 and 60x80 U.S. mesh）, degrees of oil saturation （25% and 75%）, water table levels （on top of the clean sand layer, oiled-sand layer, and sorbent layer）, and the presence of sorbent. Results indicated that oil wicking favors higher oil contamination, larger sand particle size, and low water coverage. Water coverage was the predominant factor limiting the effectiveness of sorbent. the most plausible explanation for this limitation was that sorbent captured more water than oil at higher water coverage.

Cancer progression is marked by the infiltration of immunosuppressive cells,such as tumor-associated macrophages(tAMs),regulatory t lymphocytes(tregs),and myeloid-derived suppressor cells(MDSCs).these cells play a key role in abrogating the cytotoxic t lymphocyte-mediated(CtL)immune response,allowing tumor growth to proceed ***,targeting these immunosuppressive cells through the use of peptides and peptide-based nanomedicine has shown promising *** we review the origins and functions of immunosuppressive cells in cancer progression,peptide-based systems used in their targeting,and explore future avenues of research regarding cancer *** success of these studies demonstrates the importance of the tumor immune microenvironment in the propagation of cancer and the potential of peptide-based nanomaterials as immunomodulatory agents.

tight focusing with very small f-numbers is necessary to achieve the highest at-focus ***,tight focusing imposes strong demands on precise target positioning in-focus to achieve the highest on-target irradiance We describe several near-infrared,visible,ultraviolet and soft and hard X-ray diagnostics employed in a~10^(22)W/cm^(2)laser±plasma *** used nearly 10 J total energy femtosecond laser pulses focused into an approximately1.3-μm focal spot on 5±20μm thick stainless-steel *** discuss the applicability of these diagnostics to determine the best in-focus target position with approximately 5μm accuracy(i.e.,around half of the short Rayleigh length)and show that several diagnostics(in particular,3ωreflection and on-axis hard X-rays)can ensure this *** demonstrated target positioning within several micrometers from the focus,ensuring over 80%of the ideal peak laser intensity *** approach is relatively fast(it requires 10±20 laser shots)and does not rely on the coincidence of low-power and high-power focal planes.
