Fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma(FLC)is a rare but aggressive liver cancer of children that occurs predominantly in teenagers without a history of liver *** resection remains the only therapeutic option,and the recurrence rate is extremely high(>50%within 3 years).A newly discovered chromosomal deletion that occurs in the majority of FLCs generates a novel kinase fusion between DnaJ heat shock protein family member B1(DNAJB1)and protein kinase cAMP-activated catalytic subunit alpha(PRKACA)(DNAJB1-PRKACA).Despite its high penetrance and apparent specificity for FLC,the oncogenic role of this fusion event remains *** this review article,we discuss the histology,presentation and diagnosis,current treatment,and roles of the DNAJB1-PRKACA as well as research models contributing to our understanding of this disease.

Chiral β-amino alcohols are important building blocks for the synthesis of drugs, natural products, chiral auxiliaries, chiral ligands and chiral organocatalysts. The catalytic asymmetric β-amination of alcohols offers a direct strategy to access this class of molecules. Herein, we report a general intramolecular C(sp^(3))–H nitrene insertion method for the synthesis of chiral oxazolidin-2-ones as precursors of chiral β-amino alcohols. Specifically, the ring-closing C(sp^(3))–H amination of N-benzoyloxycarbamates with 2 mol% of a chiral ruthenium catalyst provides cyclic carbamates in up to 99% yield and with up to 99% *** method is applicable to benzylic, allylic, and propargylic C–H bonds and can even be applied to completely non-activated C(sp^(3))–H bonds, although with somewhat reduced yields and stereoselectivities. The obtained cyclic carbamates can subsequently be hydrolyzed to obtain chiral β-amino alcohols. The method is very practical as the catalyst can be easily synthesized on a gram scale and can be recycled after the reaction for further use. The synthetic value of the new method is demonstrated with the asymmetric synthesis of a chiral oxazolidin-2-one as intermediate for the synthesis of the natural product aurantioclavine and chiral β-amino alcohols that are intermediates for the synthesis of chiral amino acids, indane-derived chiral Box-ligands, and the natural products dihydrohamacanthin A and dragmacidin A.

The liver is the central organ involved in lipid metabolism. Dyslipidemia and its related disorders, including non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD), obesity and other metabolic diseases, are of increasing public health concern due to their increasing prevalence in the population. Besides their well-characterized functions in cholesterol homoeostasis and nutrient absorption, bile acids are also important metabolic regulators and function as signaling hormones by activating specific nuclear receptors, G-protein coupled receptors, and multiple signaling pathways. Recent studies identified a new signaling pathway by which conjugated bile acids(CBA) activate the extracellular regulated protein kinases(ERK1/2) and protein kinase B(AKT) signaling pathway via sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor 2(S1PR2). CBA-induced activation of S1PR2 is a key regulator of sphingosine kinase 2(Sph K2) andhepatic gene expression. This review focuses on recent findings related to the role of bile acids/S1PR2-mediated signaling pathways in regulating hepatic lipid metabolism.

Racemicα-chloro imidazol-2-yl-ketones undergo an enantioconvergent photoactivated C–C bond formation with N-aryl glycines catalyzed by a single bis-cyclometalated chiral-at-rhodium catalyst in yields of up to 80%and up to 98%enantiomeric excess(ee).Control experiments support a mechanism which is initiated by a single electron transfer from N-aryl glycinate to the photochemically excited rhodium-boundα-chloro imidazol-2-yl-ketone,followed by chloride fragmentation of theα-chloroketone,decarboxylation of the glycinate,and a subsequent highly stereocontrolled radical-radical *** work showcases the ability of the chiral rhodium catalyst to serve a dual function as chiral Lewis acid and at the same time as the photoredox active species upon substrate binding.

Influence of Tropical Cyclones on Hong Kong Air Quality

Tropical cyclones（TCs） constitute one of the major atmospheric activities affecting the air quality of the Pearl River Delta region. In this study, the impact of TCs on air quality in Hong Kong during the TC active season（July–October） from 2000 to 2015 is investigated. It is found that 57.5% of days with concentration of particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter 10 μm（PM（10）） above the 90th percentile are related to TC activity. TCs in three regions, located to the east, southeast, and southwest of Hong Kong, have obvious impacts on pollutant concentration. When TCs are located east of Hong Kong near Taiwan, 65.5%/38.7% of the days have high or extremely high PM（10）/ozone（O3） levels, which are associated with northerly wind, sinking motion, and relatively low precipitation. When TCs are located southeast of Hong Kong, 48.1%/58.2% of the days have high pollution levels, associated mainly with continental air mass transport. When TCs are south or west of Hong Kong, only 20.8%/16.9% of the days have high PM（10）/O3 levels, and the air quality in Hong Kong is generally good or normal due to TC-associated precipitation, oceanic air mass transport, and an enhanced rising motion. The higher chance of high O3 days when TCs are present between Hong Kong and Taiwan, possibly due to lower-than-normal precipitation along the east coast of China under TC circulation. The results in this study highlight the important influence of TC position and associated atmospheric circulations on the air quality in Hong Kong.

Visibility is one of the parameters for indicating air pollution. In this study, visibility variation in Hong Kong during summer and winter is investigated. Visibility in Hong Kong has clear intraseasonai variation. Examination of different environmental parameters suggests that the intraseasonal component dominates the overall circulation anomalies in both summer and winter. Associated with the intraseasonal variation of environmental parameters, obvious variation in visibility impair- ment is found in both summer and winter. In summer, local visibility and air quality are found to be significantly affected by the （MJO） and the 10-30-day intraseasonal oscillation （ISO） through modulation of associated atmospheric circulations. In winter, the modulation effects appear to be weaker due to the southward shift of the associated convection. The results in this study highlight the importance of the ISO in contributing to the overall variation in visibility in Hong Kong, and provide useful implications for the development of possible mitigation strategies associated with visibility impairment and air pollution in Hong Kong.

With the development of Deep Convolutional Neural Networks(DCNNs),the extracted features for image recognition tasks have shifted from low-level features to the high-level semantic features of *** studies have shown that the deeper the network is,the more abstract the features ***,the recognition ability of deep features would be limited by insufficient training *** address this problem,this paper derives an improved Deep Fusion Convolutional Neural Network(DF-Net)which can make full use of the differences and complementarities during network learning and enhance feature expression under the condition of limited ***,DF-Net organizes two identical subnets to extract features from the input image in parallel,and then a well-designed fusion module is introduced to the deep layer of DF-Net to fuse the subnet’s features in ***,the more complex mappings are created and the more abundant and accurate fusion features can be extracted to improve recognition ***,a corresponding training strategy is also proposed to speed up the convergence and reduce the computation overhead of network ***,DF-Nets based on the well-known ResNet,DenseNet and MobileNetV2 are evaluated on CIFAR100,Stanford Dogs,and *** analysis and experimental results strongly demonstrate that DF-Net enhances the performance of DCNNs and increases the accuracy of image recognition.

The reported prevalence of autism spectrum disorder（ASD） has been increasing rapidly in many parts of the world. However, data on its prevalence in China are largely missing. Here, we assessed the suitability of the modi？ed Chinese version of a newly-developed ASD screening tool, the Modi？ed Chinese Autism Spectrum Rating Scales（MC-ASRS） in screening for ASD in Chi nese children aged 6–12 years, through comparison with the Social Responsiveness Scale（SRS） that has been widely used for ASD screening. We recruited the par ents/caregivers of 1588 typically-developing children and190 children with ASD aged 6–12 years to complete the MC-ASRS and SRS, and evaluated the validity of both scales in discriminating children with ASD from those developing typically. The results showed that MC-ASRSperformed as well as SRS in sensitivity, speci？city, and area-under-the-curve（both [0.95） in receiver operating characteristic analysis, with a fair false-negative *** results suggest that MC-ASRS is a promising tool for screening for children with ASD in the general Chinese population.
