Autoimmune cholangitis arises from abnormal innate and adaptive immune responses in the liver,and T cells are critical drivers in this ***,little is known about the regulation of their functional behavior during disease *** previously reported that mice with T cell-restricted expression of a dominant negative form of transforming growth factor beta receptor type Ⅱ(dnTGFβ RII)spontaneously develop an autoimmune cholangitis that resembles human primary biliary cholangitis(PBC).Adoptive transfer of CD8^(+) but not CD4^(+) T cells into Rag1^(−/−)mice reproduced the disease,demonstrating a critical role for CD8^(+) T cells in PBC ***,we used SOmAscan technology to perform proteomic analysis of serum samples from dnTGFβRII and B6 control mice at different *** addition,we analyzed CD8 protein profiles after adoptive transfer of splenic CD8^(+) cells into Rag1^(−/−)*** use of the unique SOmAscan aptamer technology revealed critical and distinct profiles of CD8 cells,which are key to biliary *** total,254 proteins were significantly increased while 216 proteins were significantly decreased in recipient hepatic CD8^(+) cells compared to donor splenic CD8^(+) *** contrast to donor splenic CD8^(+) cells,recipient hepatic CD8^(+) cells expressed distinct profiles for proteins involved in chemokine signaling,focal adhesion,T cell receptor and natural killer cell-mediated cytotoxicity pathways.

In a composite medium that contains close-to-touching inclusions, the pointwise values of the gradient of the voltage potential may blow up as the distance S between some inclusions tends to 0 and as the conductivity contrast degenerates. In a recent paper [9], we showed that the blow-up rate of the gradient is related to how the eigenvalues of the associated Neumann-Poincare operator converge to ±1/2 as δ→ 0, and on the regularity of the contact. Here, we consider two connected 2-D inclusions, at a distance 5 〉 0 from each other. When δ=0, the contact between the inclusions is of order m 〉 2. We numerically determine the asymptotic behavior of the first eigenvalue of the Neumann- Poincare operator, in terms of 5 and rn, and we check that we recover the estimates obtained in [10].

Animals communicate with potential mates using species-specific signals,and pheromones are powerful sexual signals that modify conspecific behavior to facilitate mate *** the vertebrates,snakes are especially adept in mate searching via chemical trailing,which is particularly relevant given that many snake species are invasive outside their native *** signals used in mate choice are,thus,potentially valuable tools for management of invasive snake *** Burmese python(Python bivittatus)is an invasive snake in the Florida Everglades where it is negatively impacting native *** this study,we sought to:(i)determine if males can follow conspecific chemical trails in a Y-maze;and(ii)describe the mate searching behaviors exhibited by males while *** males consistently followed a single female scent trail in the maze,but when only a male scent trail was present they did not discriminate between the male and blank *** of tongue-flicking,a proxy for chemosensory sampling,was also marginally higher when males were following female versus male scent ***,when both female and male scent trails were simultaneously present in the Y-maze,males did not show a preference for the female arm,although the tongue-flick rate was higher in the female-only trial compared to female versus *** of multiple male behaviors individually and using an ethogram revealed that behaviors were more frequent and complex in the female-only trials compared to male-only *** behavioral trials are needed to determine if an effective pheromonal approach to Burmese python management is possible.

Organometallic nanosheets are a versatile platform for design of efficient electrocatalyst materials due to their high surface area and uniform dispersion of metal active *** this paper,we systematically investigate the electrocatalytic performance of the first transition metal series Tm3–C12S12 monolayers on CO2 using spin-polarized density functional *** calculations show that m3–C12S12 exhibits excellent catalytic activity and selectivity in the catalytic reduction in *** main reduction products of Sc,Ti,and Cr are CH4.V,mn,Fe and Zn mainly produce HCOOH,and Co produces HCHO,while CO is the main product for Ni and *** Sc,Ti,and Cr,the overpotentials are>0.7 V,while for V,mn,Fe,Co,Ni,Cu,Zn,the overpotentials are very low and range from 0.27 to 0.47 ***,our results indicate that many of the m3–C12S12 monolayers are expected to be excellent and efficient CO2 reduction catalysts.

Animal habitat selection, among other ecological phenomena, is spatially scale dependent. Habitat selection by American beavers Castor canadensis （hereafter, beaver） has been studied at singular spatial scales, but to date no research addresses multi-scale selection. Our objectives were to determine if beaver habitat selection was specialized to semiaquatic habitats and if variables explaining habitat selection are consistent between landscape and fine spatial scales. We built maximum entropy （maxEnt） models to relate landscape-scale presence-only data to landscape variables, and used generalized linear mixed models to evaluate fine spatial scale habitat selection using global positioning system （GPS） relocation data. Explanatory variables between the landscape and fine spatial scale were compared for consistency. Our findings suggested that beaver habitat selection at coarse （study area） and fine （within home range） scales was congruent, and was influenced by increasing amounts of woody wetland edge density and shrub edge density, and decreasing amounts of open water edge density. Habitat suitability at the landscape scale also increased with decreasing amounts of grass frequency. As territorial, central-place foragers, beavers likely trade-off open water edge density （i.e., smaller non-forested wetlands or lodges closer to banks） for defense and shorter distances to forage and obtain construction material. Woody plants along edges and expanses of open water for predator avoidance may limit beaver fitness and subsequently determine beaver habitat selection.

We analyze spacetimes with horizons and study the thermodynamic aspects of causal horizons, suggesting that the resemblance between gravitational and thermodynamic systems has a deeper quantum mechanical origin. We find that the observer dependence of such horizons is a direct consequence of associating a temperature and entropy to a spacetime. The geometrical picture of a horizon acting as a one-way membrane for information flow can be accepted as a natural interpretation of assigning a quantum field theory to a spacetime with boundary, ultimately leading to a close connection with thermodynamics.
