The artificial urinary sphincter(AUS)remains the standard of care in men with severe stress urinary incontinence(SUI)following prostate surgery and *** the current AUS provides an effective,safe,and durable treatment option,it is not without its limitations and complications,especially with regard to its utility in some“high-risk”*** article provides a critical review of relevant publications pertaining to AUS surgery in specific high-risk groups such as men with spinal cord injury,revision cases,concurrent penile prosthesis implant,and female *** discussion of each category includes a brief review of surgical challenge and a practical action-based set of *** increased understandings of the pathophysiology of various SUI cases coupled with effective therapeutic strategies to enhance AUS surgery continue to improve clinical outcomes of many patients with SUI.

Objective:The following article explores our evolving understandings of the role of regenerative technology as an effective penile rehabilitation tool in men with erectile dysfunction(ED)in the setting of prostate cancer(PCa)treatment and PCa ***:This narrative clinical review paper summarizes what is currently known about various modalities of regenerative therapy in restoring spontaneous erectile function(EF)in men following PCa treatment with an emphasis on penile rehabilitation ***:Conventional medical therapy often does not reverse underlying endothelial dysfunction or promote neuro-vasculogenesis to preserve penile health in men with *** the past decade,there has been considerable interest in the role of regenerative therapy to restore endothelial dysfunction and ED without future dependency on medical *** therapy can be classified into cellular-based(immunomodulators,stem cells,and platelet-rich plasma),biomaterials(nerve graft transfer),and device-related technology(low-intensity shockwave).Although published literature shows early promise in the role of regenerative technology for ED,there is a paucity of high-quality clinical trials in the setting of penile rehabilitation and PCa survivorship to support their use as standard care and be adopted in clinical guidelines.

The simulation of Rayleigh waves is important in a variety of geophysical *** computational challenge is the fact that very fine mesh is necessary as the waves are concentrated at the free surface and decay exponentially away from the free *** overcome this challenge and to develop a robust high order scheme for the simulation of Rayleigh waves,we develop a mortar discontinuous Galerkin method with staggered *** use of the mortar technique allows one to use fine mesh in only a local region near the free surface,and use coarse mesh in most of the *** approach reduces the computational cost *** staggered hybridization allows the preservation of the strong symmetry of the stress tensor without complicated construction of basis *** particular,the basis functions are piecewise polynomial without any continuity requirement,and the coupling of the basis functions is performed by using carefully chosen hybridized *** resulting scheme is explicit in time,and only local saddle point system are solved for each time *** will present several benchmark problems to demonstrate the performance of the proposed method.

In this paper, we study the classical Allen-Cahn equations and investigate the maximum- principle-preserving (MPP) techniques. The Allen-Cahn equation has been widely used in mathematical models for problems in materials science and fluid dynamics. It enjoys the energy stability and the maximum-principle. Moreover, it is well known that the Allen- Cahn equation may yield thin interface layer, and nonuniform meshes might be useful in the numerical solutions. Therefore, we apply the local discontinuous Galerkin (LDG) method due to its flexibility on h-p adaptivity and complex geometry. However, the MPP LDG methods require slope limiters, then the energy stability may not be easy to obtain. In this paper, we only discuss the MPP technique and use numerical experiments to dem-onstrate the energy decay property. Moreover, due to the stiff source given in the equation, we use the conservative modified exponential Runge-Kutta methods and thus can use rela-tively large time step sizes. Thanks to the conservative time integration, the bounds of the unknown function will not decay. Numerical experiments will be given to demonstrate the good performance of the MPP LDG scheme.

In this paper,we propose and analyze a uniformly robust staggered DG method for the unsteady Darcy-Forchheimer-Brinkman *** formulation is based on velocity gradient-velocity-pressure and the resulting scheme can be flexibly applied to fairly general polygonal *** relax the tangential continuity for velocity,which is the key ingredi-ent in achieving the uniform *** present well-posedness and error analysis for both the semi-discrete scheme and the fully discrete scheme,and the theories indicate that the error estimates for velocity are independent of *** numerical experiments are presented to confirm the theoretical findings.

It is well-known that artificial boundary conditions are crucial for the efficient and accurate computations of wavefields on unbounded domains. In this paper, we investigate stability analysis for the wave equation coupled with the first and the second order absorbing boundary conditions. The computational scheme is also developed. The approach allows the absorbing boundary conditions to be naturally imposed, which makes it easier for us to construct high order schemes for the absorbing boundary conditions. A thirdorder Lagrange finite element method with mass lumping is applied to obtain the spatial discretization of the wave equation. The resulting scheme is stable and is very efficient since no matrix inversion is needed at each time step. Moreover, we have shown both abstract and explicit conditional stability results for the fully-discrete schemes. The results are helpful for designing computational parameters in computations. Numerical computations are illustrated to show the efficiency and accuracy of our method. In particular, essentially no boundary reflection is seen at the artificial boundaries.

Extra-adrenal chromaffin cell-related tumours or paragangliomas are rare, especially in the bladder. In this article, we reported three different clinical cases of bladder paraganglioma, followed by a review of current literature on the pathophysiology and management of bladder paraganglioma. Case 1 involved a 23 years old female patient who complained of a 10-year history of micturition-related headaches, palpitations and diaphoresis; while in case 2, a 58 years old female patient presented with history of painless haematuria and an incidentally diagnosis of a functioning paraganglioma during endoscopic transurethral resection of bladder tumour; and lastly in case 3, a 54 years old male renal transplant recipient was referred to the urology outpatient with a suspicious bladder mass found incidentally on routine transplant workshop.

In this paper,we present an efficient computational methodology for diffusion and convection-diffusion problems in highly heterogeneous media as well as convection-dominated diffusion *** is well known that the numerical computation for these problems requires a significant amount of computermemory and ***,the solutions to these problems typically contain a coarse component,which is usually the quantity of interest and can be represented with a small number of degrees of *** are many methods that aim at the computation of the coarse component without resolving the full details of the *** proposed method falls into the framework of interior penalty discontinuous Galerkin method,which is proved to be an effective and accurate class of methods for numerical solutions of partial differential equations.A distinctive feature of our method is that the solution space contains two components,namely a coarse space that gives a polynomial approximation to the coarse component in the traditional way and a multiscale space which contains sub-grid structures of the solution and is essential to the computation of the coarse *** addition,stability of the method is *** numerical results indicate that the method can accurately capture the coarse behavior of the solution for problems in highly heterogeneous media as well as boundary and internal layers for convection-dominated problems.
