In loss-of-coolant accidents,a passive containment heat removal system protects the integrity of the containment by condensing *** a large amount of air exists in the containment,the steam condensation heat transfer can be significantly *** on previous research,traditional methods for enhancing pure steam condensation may not be applicable to steam–air *** the present study,new methods of enhancing condensation heat transfer were adopted and several potentially enhanced heat transfer tubes,including corrugated tubes,spiral fin tubes,and ring fin tubes were ***-CCM+was used to determine the effect of enhanced heat transfer tubes on the steam condensation heat *** to the calculations,the gas pressure ranged from 0.2 to 1.6 MPa,and air mass fraction ranged from 0.1 to *** effective perturbation of the high-concentration air layer was identified as the key factor for enhancing steam–air condensation heat ***,the designed corrugated tube performed well at atmospheric pressure,with a maximum enhancement of 27.4%,and performed poorly at high *** the design of spiral fin tubes,special attention should be paid to the locations that may accumulate high-concentration ***,the ring-fin tubes generally displayed good performance under all conditions of interest,with a maximum enhancement of 24.2%.

We theoretically propose a scheme to realize the dynamic control of the properties of the terahertz（THz） rainbow trapping effect（RTE） based on a silicon-filled graded grating（SFGG） in a relatively broad band via optical *** the theoretical analysis and finite-element method simulations, it is conceptually demonstrated that the band of the RTE can be dynamically tuned in a range of -0.06 THz. Furthermore, the SFGG can also be optically switched between a device for the RTE and a waveguide for releasing the trapped waves. The results obtained here may imply applications for the tunable THz plasmonic devices, such as on-chip optical buffers, broad band slow-light systems, and integrated optical filters.

The characteristics of the waves around a lagoon entrance in South China Sea were observed during the past one and half years based on the wave *** measured results show that the monsoon plays an important *** summer,waves mostly come from the southeast,among which the wave components of non-dimensional periods larger than 0.2 are fetch-trapped *** winter the waves may be divided into two groups,the fetch-trapped waves and the waves from the open *** skewness of the directional distribution functions is within+8 around *** power relationship between the direction spread and kurtosis is also ***,it is found that the waves with the significant wave heights greater than 1.5 m are caused by typhoons or cold *** frequency components of wave energy driven by cold air appear in the high frequency range at first,and change to the lower frequency range *** waves driven by typhoon mostly come from the open sea.

Alcoholic liver disease is a major health problem in the United States and worldwide. Chronic alcohol consumption can cause steatosis, inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and even liver cancer. Significant progress has been made to understand key events and molecular players for the onset and progression of alcoholic liver disease from both experimental and clinical alcohol studies. No successful treatments are currently available for treating alcoholic liver disease; therefore, development of novel pathophysiological-targeted therapies is urgently needed. This review summarizes the recent progress on animal models used to study alcoholic liver disease and the detrimental factors that contribute to alcoholic liver disease pathogenesis including miRNAs, S-adenosylmethionine, Zinc deficiency, cytosolic lipin-1β, IRF3-mediated apoptosis, RIP3-mediated necrosis and hepcidin. In addition, we summarize emerging adaptive protective effects induced by alcohol to attenuate alcohol-induced liver pathogenesis including FoxO3, IL-22, autophagy and nuclear lipin-1α.
