This paper presents the influence of the ratio IA/PA and concentration of volatile acids (TVA) in the operational stability of a UASB reactor treating swine waste water. The treatment system in real scale was constituted of decanter, followed by the UASB reactor with volume of 7.4 m3 and 11.5 m3, respectively. It has been observed a large oscillation of the ratio IA/IP in the UASB reactor with an average value of 0.39, and average efficiency of removal of BOD and cOD of 79.8 and 79.3%, respectively, at the start, dropping to 0.12 in the continuity of the experiment, including during overload, in which the removal efficiencies of cOD and BOD reached values below 10%. The TVA average values were 913 mg·L-1 in the UASB reactor, increasing considerably in the overload period, reaching values higher than 4500 mg·L-1, indicating an accumulation of volatile acids and reduced efficiency of the UASB reactor in removal of organic matter. We conclude that the monitoring of the values of the ratio IA/PA and TVA is very useful instruments and easy to determine in the monitoring of the UASB reactor, enabling to predict possible instabilities in the reactor, allowing corrective actions in a timely manner.

cytogenetic analysis requires cytological preparations that unequivocally reveal the chromosome number and permit optimal visualizations of chromosome morphology for the construction of karyotypes and ideograms. chromosomal characterization is possible only by establishing these two parameters. To cytogenetically characterize the weed conyza bonariensis (L.) cronquist (Asteraceae), it was necessary to improve cytological analysis techniques to obtain optimal results. This species belongs to a genus whose plants have wide phenotypic plasticity. These plants can be morphologically differentiated by other types of analysis, and thus the application of this technique will serve as a reference for cytogenetical analysis of other groups of plants that have cytogenetic characteristics similar to those of c. bonariensis. The methodology described here highlights three main protocol steps: 1) root tip collection from newly germinated seed radicles and from young root tips of mature plants, 2) pretreatment of meristems with antimitotic agents, both isolated and combined, and 3) acid and enzymatic hydrolytic processes.

We analyze the two flavor version of the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model with a repulsive vector coupling (GV), at finite temperature and quark chemical potential, in the strong scalar coupling (Gs) regime. considering GV = 0, we review how finite Nc effects are introduced by means of the Optimized Perturbation Theory (OPT) which adds a term to the thermodynamical potential. This 1/ Nc suppressed term is similar to the contribution obtained at the large-Nc limit when GV ≠ 0. Then, scanning over the quark current mass values, we compare these two different model approximations showing that both predict the appearance of two critical points when chiral symmetry is weakly broken. By mapping the first order transition region in the chemical potential-current mass plane, we show that, for low chemical potential values, the first order region shrinks as μ increases but the behavior gets reversed at higher values leading to the back-bending of the critical line. This result, which could help to conciliate some lattice results with model predictions, shows the important role played by finite Nc corrections which are neglected in the majority of the works devoted to the determination of the QcD phase diagram. Recently the OPT, with GV = 0, and the large-Nc approximation, with GV ≠ 0, were compared at zero temperature and finite density for one quark flavor only. The present work extends this comparison to finite temperatures, and two quark flavors, supporting the result that the OPT finite

A study was made of grasslands in olive groves with a high frequency of Hordeum leporinum Link, chrysanthemum coronarium L., Malva neglecta Wallr., Aegilops geniculata Roth and Dasypyrum villosum (L.) Borbas, initially included in the alliance Hordeion leporini Br.-Bl. in Br.-Bl., Gajewski, Wraber & Walas 1936 corr. O. Bolós 1962, and sub-alliance Malvenion neglectae Gutte 1966. The study was carried out in the western Mediterranean (Spain, Italy, Portugal and northern Morocco). The soil and phytosociological treatment of the samples contributes information for new plant communities. In the study of plant communities, the indices of degree of presence are adapted to those of Van der Maarel. The new alliance Securigero securidacae-Dasypyrion villosi is proposed for the sub-Mediterranean and Euro-Siberian territories, with the new communities Securigero securidacae-Dasypyretum villosi and convolvulo elegantissimi-Aegilopetum geniculatae. This last community, due to its richness in Aegilops geniculata Roth, could be included in the alliance Taeniathero-Aegilopion geniculatae Rivas-Martínez & Izco 1977;however, the soil and statistical analyses reveal that it should remain part of the alliance Securigero securidacae-Dasypyrion villosi. The soil and floristic study of Hordeion leporini and Malvenion neglectae allows us to describe the new sub-alliance Resedo albae-chrysanthemenion coronarii, subordinated to Malvion neglectae (Gutte 1966) status novo.

Urinary bladder cancer(UBc)is a heterogeneous disease with highly variable clinical outcomes and responses to *** some advances in the molecular understanding of UBc,this knowledge still has not been translated to the clinic in terms of improvements in the prognosis and treatment of *** urinary bladder tumor models representative of the human disease in terms of histology and behavior are needed to study factors involved in tumor initiation,progression and ***,accurate model systems would facilitate identification of new therapeutic targets and predictive markers that could lead to optimization of existing therapies and development of new *** established cancer cell lines derived from human urinary bladder tumors representing different grades and stages have been used as experimental models for UBc *** cell lines reflect some of the genetic and morphologic alterations observed in human urothelial carcinoma and serve as simplified models to study the behavior of cancer cells in ***,their translational potential is limited due to the artificial conditions,in which the cells are maintained,grown and *** models offer a more complex and realistic model for the establishment,development,and progression of tumors as well as to evaluate new therapeutic *** the years,the authors'group has worked with several UBc cell lines,established and characterized chemically induced UBc models,and patient-derived xenografts *** this study,the authors will provide a summary of the UBc models developed by their group,analyze their translational potential and weaknesses,and define areas that remain to be explored.

One Pr（Ⅲ） lanthanide ion complex was initially synthesized and characterized by TGA-DSc in air atmosphere, as well as characterized by cHN elemental analysis, defining the stoichiometric ratio as Pr（DMBz）3. The gaseous products evolved during the thermal decomposition were also monitored in N2 atmosphere employing TGA/FT-IR system. A crystal structure is obtained by state-of-the-art powder X-rays diffraction methods measured in conventional laboratory equipment and refined by the Rietveld method, which defined it as a monoclinic system of the space group P21/c with a polymeric crystal structure, [Pr（DMBZ）3]n. FT-IR theoretical spectrum and time-dependent density functional theory（TD-DFT） were calculated from TGA-DSc and crystalline system data. The experimental and theoretical FT-IR spectra present a high correlation degree when the main stretching bands are compared, while the energy transfer（HOMO - LUMO） in their neighborhoods suggests the main contributions of the light-emitting states.

The RTQ-c （Technical Requirements of Quality for the Energy Performance Level of commercial Buildings） publication classified the buildings in five efficiency levels. In RTQ-c, the evaluation can be done with two methods： a prescriptive method and a simulation one. This paper aims to identify the sensibility of the prescriptive method RTQ-c regarding the variation of equipment internal load density in office buildings in bioclimatic Zones I and 7 of the Brazilian bioclimatic zoning. The research results show that the building with walls and roof configured to meet specific prerequisites for energy efficiency Levels B and c had a lower consumption than buildings that meet the prerequisites to Level A. The study also showed that buildings with high internal load density of equipment, maximum shape factor and high, with walls and roofs with higher thermal transmittance, have lower power consumption than constructions with an envelope with greater thermal resistance. The increase in internal load density causes an increase in the internal heat generated by the large amount of equipment. In buildings with higher thermal insulation （Level A）, the internal heat is maintained in the environment, causing overheating and the need for an air conditioning system.

Dermatophyte infection or ringworm is a superficial cutaneous infection with one or more of the fungal species of the keratinophilic genera Microsporum, Trichophyton, or Epidermophyton and is a zoonosis with a great impact on public health. Dermatophytes were identified from rabbit sample cultures submitted to mycological examination in the Laboratory of Microbiology of the University of Tr^-os-Montes e Alto Douro, Vila Real, Portugal. All samples were collected from suspected clinical cases. Dermatophytes were cultured from 4 of the 55 specimens （7.3%）. The dermatophytes isolated were Trichophyton mentagrophytes var. mentagrophytes （1.8%） and Microsporum gypseum （5.5%）. Microscopic examination was negative in all specimens. In this work, Scopulariopsis spp., a contaminant mould, was identified in 13 specimens （23.6%）. The proportion of positive samples in relation to the number of samples examined from cases suspected was very low. As all samples were collected from rabbits with compatible signs, we presume that the low prevalence of isolation was due to laboratory constraints on dermatophytes diagnosis.

The Rio de la Plata region comprises central Argentina,Uruguay,and southern *** agriculture developed around 1900 with recent decades being characterized by the advance of cropping areas over native *** specialized agriculture has decoupled crop and livestock production but has succeeded in intensifying ***,significant losses of ecosystem services have been ***,questions have been raised on the sustainability of this pathway.A glance at world regions that have experienced similar trends suggests that an urgent course correction is needed.A major concern has been the lack of diversity in regions with highly specialized agriculture,promoting renewed interest in integrated crop-livestock systems(IcLS),not only because IcLS are more diverse than specialized systems,but also because they are rare examples of reconciliation between agroecosystem intensification and environmental ***,this paper discusses alternatives to redesign multifunctional landscapes based on *** data provide evidence that recoupling crop and animal production increases the resilience of nutrient cycling functions and economic indicators to external stressors,enabling these systems to face climate-market uncertainty and reconcile food production with the provision of diverse ecosystem ***,these concepts are exemplified in case studies where this perspective has been successfully applied.
