To investigate the physical properties of HII regions and some PNe about 4＇ in size, a DEFPOS Fabry-Perot spectrometer has been redesigned and set up at the coude exit of the 150cm RTT150 telescope （f/48） at TUBITAK National Observatory （Antalya/Baklrhtepe, Turkey）. The spectrometer has a 4＇ circular field of view and a velocity resolution of 27.27 km s^-1 （a spectral resolving power of 11000） over a 200 km s^-1 spectral window near Hα. This work presents the details of the newly redesigned instrument for coude observations, the data reduction techniques and finally presents some physical results of our new Hα observations selected from the Reynolds et al. （2005） and Fich et al. （1990） papers. The DEFPOS system has been fully tested and the first observations of HII regions and PNe in the Galaxy are used to illustrate the power of the instrument. We feel that our first Fabry-Perot observations can provide a powerful tool for the study of objects with small angular size. In the future, we are planning to prepare a catalog including some physical properties such as radial velocity, line width, and intensity of some PNe and HII regions close to the 4＇ field of view.

The multi-source and single-sink(MSSS) topology in wireless sensor networks(WSNs) is defined as a network topology,where all of nodes can gather,receive and transmit data to the *** energy-constrained WSNs with such a topology,the joint optimal design in the physical,medium access control(MAC) and network layers is considered for network lifetime maximization(NLM).The problem of integrating multi-layer information to compute NLM,which involves routing flow,link schedule and transmission power,is formulated as a nonlinear optimization *** under time division multiple access(TDMA) scheme,this problem can be transformed into a convex optimization *** solve it analytically we make use of the property that local optimization is global optimization in convex *** allows us to exploit the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) optimality conditions to solve it and obtain analytical solution expression,i.e.,the globally optimal network lifetime(NL).NL is derived as a function of number of nodes,their initial energy and data rate arrived at them. Based on the analysis of analytical approach,it takes the influence of data rates,link access and routing method over NLM into ***,the globally optimal transmission schemes are achieved by solution set during analytical approach and applied to algorithms in TDMA-based WSNs aiming at NLM on OMNeT++ to compare with other suboptimal schemes.

A new structural optimization method of coupled extended finite element method and bound constrained quadratic optimization method(XFEM-BCQO)is adopted to quantify the optimum values of four design parameters for a circular tunnel lining when it is subjected to *** parameters are:tunnel lining thickness,tunnel diameter,tunnel lining concrete modulus of elasticity and tunnel lining concrete ***-Carlo sampling method is dedicated to construct the meta models so that to be used for the BCQO method using matlab *** simulations of the tensile damage in the tunnel lining due to a real earthquake in the literature are created for three design *** approach is used to show the cracks for the mentioned design *** results of the BCQO method for the maximum design case for the tunnel tensile damage was matching the results obtained from XFEM approach to a fair *** new coupled approach manifested a significant capability to predict the cracks and spalling of the tunnel lining concrete under the effects of dynamic earthquakes.

Although magnesium(Mg) is one of the most important nutrients, involved in many enzyme activities and the structural stabilization of tissues, its importance as a macronutrient ion has been overlooked in recent decades by botanists and agriculturists, who did not regard Mg deficiency(MGD) in plants as a severe health problem. However, recent studies have shown,surprisingly, that Mg contents in historical cereal seeds have markedly declined over time, and two thirds of people surveyed in developed countries received less than their minimum daily Mg requirement. Thus, the mechanisms of response to MGD and ways to increase Mg contents in plants are two urgent practical problems. In this review, we discuss several aspects of MGD in plants, including phenotypic and physiological changes, cell Mg2+homeostasis control by Mg2+transporters, MGD signaling, interactions between Mg2+and other ions, and roles of Mg2+in plant secondary metabolism. Our aim is to improve understanding of the influence of MGD on plant growth and development and to advance crop breeding for Mg enrichment.

This paper presents a novel design of minimalist bipedal walking robot with flexible ankle and split-mass balancing *** proposed approach implements a novel strategy to achieve stable bipedal walk by decoupling the walking motion control from the sideway balancing *** strategy allows the walking controller to execute the walking task independently while the sideway balancing controller continuously maintains the balance of the *** hip-mass carry approach and selected stages of walk implemented in the control strategy can minimize the efect of major hip mass of the robot on the stability of its *** addition,the developed smooth joint trajectory planning eliminates the impacts of feet during the *** this paper,the new design of mechanism for locomotion systems and balancing systems are *** additional degree of freedom introduced at the ankle joint increases the sensitivity of the system and response time to the sideway *** efectiveness of the proposed strategy is experimentally tested on a bipedal robot *** experimental results provide evidence that the proposed strategy is feasible and advantageous.

The braided Jamuna River frequently changes its *** the secondary channel in a braided river acts as a single thread meandering *** the present study an attempt has been made to investigate the flow patterns and to estimate the rate of bank erosion in a bend along the Jamuna *** three dimensional(3D) flow velocities were measured using Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler(ADCP).It is found that the near bank velocity is amplified by 1.1 to 1.3 times as compared with the section averaged velocity.A dominant secondary current is found in the upstream *** evolution as well as decay of the secondary current is not as clear as it is found in the laboratory *** is revealed from the analysis of the flow process that the causes of higher rate of erosion at the study bend are the oblique flow near bankline,six times amplified shear velocity than critical shear velocity near bankline and the secondary current which acts as a sediment transporting agent from the outer bank towards the inner bank or the sand *** on the flow processes,a simplified erosion prediction model is developed and applied to estimate the rate of erosion at a selected *** the predicted results have been compared with the observed data at the bend and all the available data at other bends along the Jamuna River.

There are many certain and uncertain design factors which have unrevealed rational effects on the generation of tensile damage and the stability of the circular tunnels during seismic *** this research paper,we have dedicated three certain and four uncertain design factors to quantify their rational effects using numerical simulations and the Sobol's sensitivity *** effects and interaction effects between the design factors have been determined supporting on variance-based global sensitivity *** results detected that the concrete modulus of elasticity for the tunnel lining has the greatest effect on the tensile damage generation in the tunnel lining during the seismic *** the other direction,the interactions between the concrete density and both of concrete modulus of elasticity and tunnel diameter have appreciable effects on the tensile ***,the tunnel diameter has the deciding effect on the stability of the tunnel *** the interaction between the tunnel diameter and concrete density has appreciable effect on the stability *** is worthy to mention that SoboFs sensitivity indices manifested strong efficiency in detecting the roles of each design factor in cooperation with the numerical simulations explaining the responses of the circular tunnel during seismic actions.

Interactive effects of elevated carbon dioxide and nitrogen availability on fruit quality of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.)

Elevated CO2 and high N promote the yield of vegetables interactively, whilst their interactive effects on fruit quality of cucumber （Cucumis sativus L.） are unclear. We studied the effects of three CO2 concentrations （400 IJmOl mol^-1 （ambient）, 625 pmol mol^-1 （moderate） and 1 200 pmol mol^-1（high）） and nitrate levels （2 mmol L^-1 （low）, 7 mmol L^-1 （moderate） and 14 mmol L^-1 （high）） on fruit quality of cucumber in open top chambers. Compared with ambient CO2, high CO2 increased the concentrations of fructose and glucose in fruits and maintained the titratable acidity, resulting in the greater ratio of sugar to acid in moderate N, whilst it had no significant effects on these parameters in high N. Moderate and high CO2 had no significant effect on starch concentration and decreased dietary fiber concentration by 13 and 18%, nitrate by 31 and 84% and crude protein by 19 and 20% averagely, without interactions with N levels. The decreases in amino acids under high CO2 were similar, ranging from 10-18%, except for tyrosine （50%）. High CO2 also increased the concentrations of P, K, Ca and Mg but decreased the concentrations of Fe and Zn in low N, whilst high CO2 maintained the concentrations of P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn, Cu and Zn in moderate and high N. In conclusion, high CO2 and moderate N availability can be the best combination for improving the fruit quality of cucumber. The fruit enlargement, carbon transformation and N assimilation are probably the main processes affecting fruit quality under CO2 enrichment.

This paper argues that the comparative assessment of the market liberalism-dirigisme in different economies should be done based on some specific forms of the government regulation,which are called the model-shaping forms of government intervention in the *** its measurement a composite indicator,called the Index of Leftness(Rightness)of Economy,is ***(R)E is calculated for 62 countries as a weighted average of six ***,IL(R)E(both the Index in general and each of its sub-indices)is used to identify the dependence of economic growth rates on governments’model-shaping interference in the ***-country regression analysis shows that an increase in model-shaping government intervention in the economy(indicated by IL(R)E’s change towards one)has a negative impact on economic growth,but different forms of that intervention(measured by individual sub-indices)have different ***,there is a rather profound difference between the countries with GDP per capita less and more than 30 thousand International *** the second group of countries the impact is less *** conclusion the authors hypothesize that the process of moving the economy to the right has a more positive impact on the economic growth than its static(unchanging)proximity to the right pole.
