Changing dietary n-6:n-3 ratio using different oil sources affects performance,behavior,cytokines mRnA expression and meat fatty acid profile of broiler chickens

Typical formulated broiler diets are deficient in n-3 poly-unsaturated fatty acids(PUFA) due to widening n-6:n-3 PUFA ratio which could greatly affect performance,immune system of birds and,more importantly,meat *** study was conducted to evaluate the effect of modifying dietary n-6:n-3 PUFA ratio from plant and animal oil sources on performance,behavior,cytokine m RnA expression,antioxidative status and meat fatty acid profile of broiler ***(n=420) were fed 7 diets enriched with different dietary oil sources and ratios as follows: sunflower oil in control diet(C); fish oil(FO); 1:1 ratio of sunflower oil to FO(C1 FO1); 3:1 ratio of sunflower oil to fish oil(C3 FO1); linseed oil(LO); 1:1 ratio of sunflower oil to linseed oil(C1 LO1); 3:1 ratio of sunflower oil to linseed oil(C3 LO1),resulting in dietary n-6:n-3 ratios of approximately 40:1,1.5:1,4:1,8:1,1:1,2.5:1 and 5:1,*** best final body weight,feed conversion ratio as well as protein efficiency ratio of broilers were recorded in the C1 FO1 and C1 LO1 *** with the control group,the dressing percentage and breast and thigh yield were highest in the C1 FO1 and C1 LO1 *** the dietary n-6:n-3 ratio increased(P n-3 PUFA content of breast ***,the breast meat contents of eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid increased(P ncreasing dietary FO whereas a-linolenic acid content was higher with LO ***,enriching the diets with n-3 PUFA from FO and LO clearly decreased(P nd very low-density lipoproteins and enhanced antioxidative *** feeding frequency was decreased(P n the C1 FO1 and C1 LO1 ***,n-3 PUFA-enriched diets enhanced the frequency of preening,wing flapping and *** oil source addition,compared to plant oil,to broiler diets enhanced the relative m RnA expression of interferon gamma,interleukin-1 beta,interleukin-2 and

Securing digital data from unauthorized access throughout its entire lifecycle has been always a critical concern.A robust data security system should protect the information assets of any organization against cybercriminal *** Twofish algorithm is one of the well-known symmetric key block cipher cryptographic algorithms and has been known for its rapid *** when it comes to security,it is not the preferred cryptographic algorithm to use compared to other algorithms that have shown better *** applications and social platforms have adopted other symmetric key block cipher cryptographic algorithms such as the Advanced Encryption Standard(AES)algorithm to construct their main security *** this paper,a new modification for the original Twofish algorithm is proposed to strengthen its security and to take advantage of its fast *** new algorithm has been named Split-n-Swap(SnS).Performance analysis of the new modification algorithm has been performed using different measurement *** experimental results show that the complexity of the SnS algorithm exceeds that of the original Twofish algorithm while maintaining reasonable values for encryption and decryption times as well as memory utilization.A detailed analysis is given with the strength and limitation aspects of the proposed algorithm.

AIM:To identify blood donors with occult hepatitis B virus(HBV) infection(OBI) to promote safe blood ***:Descriptive cross sectional study was conducted on 3167 blood donors negative for hepatitis B surface antigen(HBsAg),hepatitis C antibody(HCV Ab) and human immunodeficiency virus *** were subjected to the detection of alanine aminotransferase(ALT) and aspartate transaminase(AST) and screening for anti-HBV core antibodies(total) by two different techniques;[Monoliza antibodies to hepatitis B core(Anti-HBc) Plus-Bio-Rad] and(ARC-HBc total-ABBOT).Positive samples were subjected to quantitative detection of antibodies to hepatitis B surface(anti-HBs)(ETI-AB-AUK-3,Dia Sorin-Italy).Serum anti-HBs titers > 10 IU/L was considered *** HBV DnA by real time polymerase chain reaction(PCR)(QIAGEn-Germany) with 3.8 IU/mL detection limit was estimated for blood units with negative serum anti-HBs and also for 32 whose anti-HBs serum titers were > 1000 IU/***,265 recipients were included,34 of whom were followed up for 3-6 *** were investigated for ALT and AST,HBV serological markers:HBsAg(ETI-MAK-4,Dia Sorin-Italy),anti-HBc,quantitative detection of anti-HBs and ***:525/3167(16.6%) of blood units were positive for total anti-HBc,64% of those were antiHBs *** by ARCHITECT anti-HBc assay were carried out for 498/525 anti-HBc positive samples,where 451(90.6%) confirmed *** for anti-HBc was considered confirmed only if two positive results were obtained for each sample,giving an overall prevalence of 451/3167(14.2%) for total *** DnA was quantified by real time PCR in 52/303(17.2%) of anti-HBc positive blood donors(viral load range:5 to 3.5 x 105 IU/mL) with a median of 200 IU/mL(mean:1.8 x 104 ± 5.1 x 104 IU/mL).AntiHBc was the only marker in 68.6% of *** and multivariate logistic analysis for identifying risk factors associated with anti-HBc and HBV-DnA positivity a

CDYL1 fosters double-strand break-induced transcription silencing and promotes homology-directed repair

Cells have evolved DnA damage response （DDR） to repair DnA lesions and thus preserving genomic stability and impeding carcinogenesis. DnA damage induction is accompanied by transient transcription repression. Here, we describe a previously unrecognized role of chromodomain Y-like （CDYL1） protein in fortifying double-strand break （DSB）-induced transcription repression and repair. We showed that CDYL1 is rapidly recruited to damaged euchromatic regions in a poly （ADP-ribose） polymerase 1 （PARP1）-dependent, but ataxia telangiectasia mutated （ATM）-independent, manner. While the C-terminal region, containing the enoyl-CoA hydratase like （ECH） domain, of CDYL1 binds to poly （ADP-ribose）（PAR） moieties and mediates CDYL1 accumulation at DnA damage sites, the chromodomain and histone H3 trimethylated on lysine 9 （H3K9me3） mark are dispensable for its recruitment. Furthermore, CDYL1 promotes the recruitment of enhancer of zeste homolog 2 （EZH2）, stimulates local increase of the repressive methyl mark H3K27me3, and promotes transcription silencing at DSB sites. In addition, following DnA damage induction, CDYL1 depletion causes persistent G2/M arrest and alters H2AX and replication protein A （RPA2） phosphorylation. Remarkably, the ‘traffic-light reporter’ system revealed that CDYL1 mainly promotes homology-directed repair （HDR） of DSBs in vivo. Consequently, CDYL1-knockout cells display synthetic lethality with the chemotherapeutic agent, cisplatin. Altogether, our findings identify CDYL1 as a new component of the DDR and suggest that the HDR-defective ‘BRCAness’ phenotype of CDYL1-deficient cells could be exploited for eradicating cancer cells harboring CDYL1 mutations.

A new six intraperitoneal injection insulin-mimetic vanadyl(Ⅱ) compounds [(VD3^-1)(VO^+2)(AAn^-1)](where(n=1~6);AA1=isoleucine, AA2=threonine, AA3=proline, AA4=phenylalanine, AA5=lysine and AA6=glutamine) were synthesized by the chemical reactions between vitamin D3(VD3), VOSO4 and amino acids(AAn) with equal molar ratio 1∶1∶1 in neutralized media. The structures of these complexes were elucidated by spectroscopic methods like, infrared and solid reflectance spectroscopes. Magnetic moments and electronic spectra reveal square pyramid geometrical structure of the complexes. The infrared spectra assignments of these complexes revealed that the chelation towards vanadyl(Ⅳ) ions existed via deprotonation of the hydroxyl group of VD3 drug ligand and so amino acids act as bidentate ligand via n-amino and O-carboxylate groups. The anti-diabetic efficiency of these complexes were evaluated against streptozotocin induced diabetic male albino rats.

Association of Human Herpesvirus 6 and 8 in Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis Type during Exacerbation

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic demyelinating disease of the CnS with assumed autoimmune etiology. Human herpes viruses have probable effects on relapsing-remitting MS pathogenesis presumably through molecular mimicry and/or bystander mechanisms. In this study we probed the possible contribution of the two herpes viruses, human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) and human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8), in clinically definite multiple sclerosis (CDMS) pa-tients-relapsing remitting type (RRMS) during clinical exacerbations. All patients had no history of immune modulating or suppressing drugs intake in the last 6 months. The peripheral blood samples, from CDMS patients (n = 20) (13F/7M, age (y) = 30.3 ± 3.21) and other immune mediated neurological disorders (OInD) (11F/9M, age = 25.2 ± 12.1), (My-asthenia Gravis, Guillain Barré Syndrome, ischemic stroke in adolescent and young adult with no clear risk factors), as a control group, had been enrolled within 15 months (January-2007-- March -2008). We investigated the existence of specific deoxyribonucleic acid (DnA) sequences belonging to HHV-6 and HHV-8, using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in the isolated peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and in plasma. PCR demonstrated HHV-6 DnA in 7 cases (35%), HHV-8 sequences in only one cases (5%) in PBMCs from 20 relapsed CDMS patients;all HHV-6 posi-tive cases showed positive plasma results, while the blood samples from 20 OInD patients showed negative results ex-cept one case (5%) out of 9 cases of GBS was positive for HHV-8 in PBMCs. We consequently concluded that there is considerable evidence in this study that proposed the roles of HHV-6 and HHV-8 in MS pathogenesis and clinical ex-acerbation.

The Prognostic and Curative Benefits of Primary Tumor Resection versus no Resection in Stage IV Colorectal Cancer: A Comparative Study

Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) who is initially diagnosed with single or multiple synchronous distant metastases has an incidence of about 20% of all CRC patients. There is a controversy regarding the role of resection of the primary tumors in those patients. The aim of this study was to explore the prognostic roles and survival advantages of surgical excision of the primary colonic tumor in patients with CRC who are primarily diagnosed with distant metastases. Patients and Methods: We included forty patients who were diagnosed initially with stage IV CRC. We have divided the included patients into two categories the first one included 20 patients that underwent surgical excision of the primary cancer followed by administration of chemotherapy and the remaining 20 patients were initially given chemotherapy without excision of the cancer. We followed patients for 24 months to detect progression, response to chemotherapy, recurrence free survival and overall survival rates. Results: There is statistically significant difference between patients underwent different initial management techniques regarding n stage of the tumor (p = 0.039), response to chemotherapy (p = 0.048), occurrence of relapse (p = 0.022), disease free survival (DFS) (p = 0.027) or overall survival (OS) rates (p = 0.001) (DFS and OS were significantly higher among patients who received initial surgical management. Primary surgical removal of the tumor improved OS rate by 8 months (p = 0.001). Conclusion: Surgical removal of the primary malignancy in mCRC patients before chemotherapy administration improves patients’ survival rates and response to chemotherapy that lead to a better prognosis.
