Fishway research is important for mitigating the fragmentation of river habitats caused by hydraulic *** vertical slit fishway is a broadly used fishway type because of its high efficiency and adaptability to water ***,the resulting vortex current disrupts the fish passage hence directly affecting fish *** study aims to accurately capture the vortex structure in the fishway and analyze the effect of vortex elements(vortex structure,vortex intensity,etc.)on *** conducted an analysis of the 3-D current flow field in the fishway through the utilization of an experimental model and the large eddy simulation(LES)***,we captured the vortex information in the fishway at different flow rates using the Liutex vortex identification method and investigated the effect of the vortex on fish *** results revealed that the structures inside the fishway pool occupy most of the room,however,the areas with higher vortex strength were primarily located in the vortex near the vertical seam and the mainstream,the vortex strength inside the fishway gradually increases with increasing flow,suppressing fish *** experienced significantly increased resistance when encountering strong *** suggests that the vortex may act as a physical barrier to fish *** findings highlight the potential negative effects of vortex on fish movement and reiterate the importance of understanding vortex dynamics for aquatic environmental *** an effective tool for identifying vortices in fluid flow,the Liutex method demonstrates features of vortex within the fishway,thereby providing important insights into the interaction between fluid dynamics and aquatic organisms.

Topological zero-line modes(ZLMs) with spin and valley degrees of freedom give rise to spin, valley and spinvalley transport, which support a platform for exploring quantum transport physics and potential applications in spintronic/valleytronic devices. In this work, we investigate the beam-splitting behaviors of the charge current due to the ZLMs in a three-terminal system. We show that with certain combinations of ZLMs, the incident charge current along the interface between different topological phases can be divided into different polarized currents with unit transmittance in two outgoing terminals. As a result, fully spin-polarized, valley-polarized and spin-valley-polarized electron beam splitters are generated. The mechanism of these splitters is attributed to the cooperative effects of the distribution of the ZLMs and the intervalley and intravalley scatterings that are modulated by the wave-vector mismatch and group velocity mismatch. Interestingly, half-quantized transmittance of these scatterings is found in a fully spin-valley-polarized electron beam ***, the results indicate that these splitters can be applicable to graphene, silicene, germanene and stanene due to their robustness against the spin–orbit coupling. Our findings offer a new way to understand the transport mechanism and investigate the promising applications of ZLMs.

BACKGROUND: Hypoxia up-regulates vascular endothelialgrowth factor (VEGF) and stimulates the growth of hepa-tocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells. This study was designedto investigate the association between changes in plasmaVEGF levels after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE) and HCC progression, especially in relation ***: Plasma VEGF levels were measured by quati-tative sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA R&D system). Plasma VEGF levels were measuredbefore, 3 days and 4 weeks after TACE in 30 patients withHCC. The development of metastasis was evaluated at theend of the third month after ***: The plasma VEGF levels of the 30 patients withHCC were 154.47±90.17 pg/ml. The total plasma VEGFlevels after TACE increased compared with their basal levels(Pendency toincrease in patients with heterogenous uptake of iodizdoiland portal vein thrombosis. Follow-up for six monthsshowed metastatic foci in 20 patients (74%) with increasedplasma VEGF, but none of the patients with decreased plas-ma VEGF developed ***: Increased plasma VEGF expression is asso-ciated with the development of metastasis in HCC after TA-CE.

Developing new polymeric semiconductors with excellent device performance is essential for organic electronics. Herein, we synthesized two new thiazoloisoindigo(Tz II)-based polymers, namely, P(Tz II-d Th-d Th) and P(Tz II-d Th-d Tz), by copolymerizing thiophene-flanked Tz II with bithiophene and bithiazole, respectively. Owing to the more electron-deficient nature of bithiazole than bithiophene, P(Tz II-d Th-d Tz)possesses deeper LUMO/HOMO levels of-3.45/-5.47 e V than P(Tz II-d Th-d Th)(-3.34/-5.32 e V). The organic field-effect transistor(OFET) devices based on P(Tz II-d Th-d Th) exhibited p-type behaviors with an average hole mobility value as high as 1.43 cm^(2)·V^(-1)·s^(-1), while P(Tz II-d Th-d Tz)showed typical ambipolar characteristics with average hole and electron mobilities of 0.38 and 0.56 cm^(2)·V^(-1)·s^(-1). In addition, we compared the performances of both polymers with other Tz II-based polymers reported in our previous work, and showed that the charge carrier polarity can be manipulated by adjusting the number of the thiophene units between the acceptor unit. As the increase of the number of thiophene rings,charge carrier polarity shifts from electron-dominated ambipolar transport to hole-dominated ambipolar transport and then to unipolar hole transport in OFETs, which provides an effective molecular design strategy for further optimization of polymer OFET performance.
