div style="text-a.ign:justify;"> Ba.kground: Cardiac involvement and the consequences of inflammation induced by SARS-CoV2 infection could have catastrophic long-term consequences. Left ventricular mechanics could identify a specific pattern of myocardial fiber damage in patients infected with COVID-19. To our knowledge there are no publications referring to the global description of ventricular mechanics in patients with COVID-19. Objective: To describe left ventricular mechanics in hospitalized patients with COVID-19. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, we included 40 hospitalized patients with confirmed diagnostic of COVID-19, from April 11, 2020, to September 6, 2020. Demographic and laboratory data, clinical and echocardiographic characteristics were collected, as well as events during hospitalization. Left ventricular deformation was analyzed and reported. Results: Subclinical dysfunction was observed in 82.5% (left ventricular longitudinal strain [LVGLS] -17.05% and global circumferential strain [GCS] -18.6%) of the patients, likewise, the mean twist and apical rotation were preserved, and even increased as part of the compensating mechanism to maintain the ejection fraction. Conclusion: In patients hospitalized with COVID-19, despite having a normal left ventricular ejection fraction, subclinical myocardial damage was found, manifested by a decrease in Global Longitudinal Strain (GLS) and Global Circumferential Strain (GCS). This behavior is similar to that of cardiomyopathies in the early stage of the disease, and given the pathophysiological mechanisms involved in the disease, its long-term consequences should be monitored and evaluated. div>

Typica.ly, this idea.ha. been tested in monomorphic species, but ra.ely ha. been eva.ua.ed in polymorphic ma.e species. We used Pa.a.hlebia.zoe, a.da.selfly with two ma.e morphs： the bla.k-winged morph （Bla.k-W） develop bla.k spots a. sexua. tra.ts a.d the hya.ine-winged morph （Hya.ine-W） resembles a.fema.e in size a.d wings color. We predicted tha. Bla.k-W should ha.e a.lower immune response tha. Hya.ine-W, but tha. the la.ter ma.es should not differ from fema.es in this respect. Nitric oxide （NO） a.d phenoloxida.e （PO） production, a. well a. hemolymph protein content, were used a. immune ma.kers. Body size （wing length） wa. used a. a. indica.or of the ma.e condition. The results show tha., a. we predicted, fema.es a.d Hya.ine-W ha. higher va.ues of NO tha. Bla.k-W, corresponding to differences in size. However, the opposite wa. found in rela.ion to PO production. Fema.es ha. the highest levels of hemolymph protein content, wherea. no differences were found between Bla.k-W a.d Hya.ine-W. These results pa.tia.ly support the sexua. selection hypothesis a.d a.e discussed in the context of the life history of this species. Bla.k-W, Hya.ine-W, a.d fema.es could express the immune ma.kers tha. a.e prioritized by their pa.ticula. condition, a.d proba.ly neither of them could express a.l immune ma.kers in a. eleva.ed ma.ner, a. this would result in a. excessive a.cumula.ion of free ra.ica.s.

There a.e different types of polluta.ts tha. a.e ha.mful to the environment, including smog, chemica.s tha. a.e dumped into rivers, scra. tires, etc. The la.ter ha.e the pa.ticula.ity tha. it is not possible to recycle them to ma.ufa.ture new tires. In the present work, hydra.lic concrete pla.es a.ded with wa.te tire rubber were ma.ufa.tured to modify their sound a.sorption ca.a.ity. It wa. found tha. the rubber a.ditions produce cha.ges in the density of the ma.eria. a.d in the sound a.sorption ca.a.ity. When the ma.eria. is exposed to high-frequency sounds tha. correspond to high-pitched sounds, its a.sorption ca.a.ity increa.es. On the contra.y, when the test frequency is low, tha. is, ba.s sounds, the sound a.sorption ca.a.ity decrea.es. The results obta.ned in this work suggest tha. the proposed mixtures a.e suita.le for the possible ma.ufa.ture of a.oustic insula.ing shields.

a.M：To compa.e the effect of pha.oemulsifica.ion on intra.cula. pressure（IOP）in pa.ients with prima.y open a.gle gla.coma.POa.）a.d pseudoexfolia.ion gla.coma.PXG）.METHOdS：a.retrospective compa.a.ive ca.e series conducted a. the Gla.coma.depa.tment a. the a.socia.ion to Prevent Blindness in Mexico.The study enrolled consecutive pa.ients ha.ing pha.oemulsifica.ion with intra.cula. lens（IOL）impla.ta.ion a.d a.dia.nosis of POa. or PXG.da.a.a.out IOP va.ues a.d number of gla.coma.medica.ions used wa. collected a. ba.eline,1,3,6 a.d12mo postopera.ively.RESULTS：The study enrolled 88 pa.ients（88 eyes）.a.ter pha.oemulsifica.ion,there wa. a.sta.istica.ly significa.t reduction in IOP va.ues a.d gla.coma.medica.ions use compa.ed to ba.eline in both POa. a.d PXG pa.ients（P〈0.001）.In the POa. group,a.20%decrea.e in IOP va.ues wa. evidenced,a.d a.56.5%reduction in the number of medica.ions used a. the one-yea. follow-up.The PXG group showed a.20.39%,a.d a.34.46%decrea.e in IOP a.d number of medica.ions used,respectively.a.significa.t difference in the mea.ΔIOP（postopera.ive cha.ges in IOP）wa. evidenced between groups（P=0.005）.The reduction of the postsurgica. IOP mea. va.ues in both groups,the POa. group showed a.grea.er reduction in IOP va.ues compa.ed to the PXG group.CONCLUSION：In both types of gla.coma.pha.oemulsifica.ion ca.a.a.t surgery ca. result in a.significa.t IOP reduction（20%）over a.12mo follow-up period.The number of medica.ions used is a.so significa.tly reduced up to 12mo a.ter surgery,especia.ly in the PXG group.

旨在开发一种组织渗透性好的35 kda.明质酸片段(Ha.5),探究Ha.5对红细胞的生物活性作用及其种属特异性。分别利用足量或轻度过量的重组人透明质酸酶PH20和牛提取透明质酸酶PH20,酶解切割平均分子量1600 kda.透明质酸原料,制备一种能通过220 nm孔径的平均分子量35 kda.透明质酸片段Ha.5,并进一步使用Ha.5与人和不同动物的红细胞共同孵育,研究Ha.5对红细胞的生物活性作用及其种属特异性。结果表明:Ha.5和其他平均分子量不同的透明质酸片段,通过Cd44受体诱发人和多种实验动物的红细胞呈钱串状聚集,但存在种属特异性。Ha.5和其他平均分子量不同的透明质酸片段,诱发红细胞钱串状聚集的透明质酸片段的最小浓度与其分子量呈负相关,这种负相关关系首次被用来准确测定低分子透明质酸片段的分子量。Ha.5不仅诱发人和动物红细胞钱串状聚集,还诱发红细胞沉降率增加,被用于Ha.5产品的生产质控。
