Due to the numerous variables to take into ac.ount as well as the inherent ambiguity and unc.rtainty,evaluating educ.tional institutions c.n be *** c.nc.pt of a possibility Pythagorean fuzzy hypersoft set(pPyFHSS)is more flexible in this regard than other theoretic.l fuzzy set-like models,even though some attempts have been made in the literature to address suc. *** study investigates the elementary notions of pPyFHSS inc.uding its set-theoretic.operations union,intersec.ion,c.mplement,OR-and *** results related to these operations are also modified for ***,the similarity measures between pPyFHSSs are formulated with the assistanc. of numeric.l examples and ***,an intelligent dec.sion-assisted mec.anism is developed with the proposal of a robust algorithm based on similarity measures for solving multi-attribute dec.sion-making(MADM)problems.A c.se study that helps the dec.sion-makers assess the best educ.tional institution is disc.ssed to validate the suggested *** algorithmic.results are c.mpared with the most pertinent model to evaluate the adaptability of pPyFHSS,as it generalizes the c.assic.l possibility fuzzy set-like theoretic.l ***,while c.nsidering signific.nt evaluating fac.ors,the flexibility of pPyFHSS is observed through struc.ural c.mparison.

The uniaxial c.mpressive strength(Uc.) of roc. is an important parameter required for design and analysis of roc. struc.ures,and roc. mass *** c.mpression test is the direc. method to obtain the Uc. ***,these tests are generally tedious,time-c.nsuming,expensive,and sometimes impossible to perform due to diffic.lt roc. ***,several empiric.l equations have been developed to estimate the Uc. from results of index and physic.l tests of ***,numerous empiric.l models available in the literature often make it diffic.lt for mining engineers to dec.de whic. empiric.l equation provides the most reliable estimate of *** study evaluates estimation of Uc. of roc.s from several empiric.l *** study uses data of point load strength(Is(50)),Sc.midt rebound hardness(SRH),bloc. punc. index(BPI),effec.ive porosity(n) and density(ρ)as inputs to empiric.lly estimate the *** estimated Uc. values from empiric.l equations are c.mpared with experimentally obtained or measured Uc. values,using statistic.l *** shows that the reliability of Uc. estimated from empiric.l equations depends on the quality of data used to develop the equations,type of input data used in the equations,and the quality of input data from index or physic.l *** results show that the point load strength(Is(50)) is the most reliable index for estimating Uc. among the five types of tests *** of type-spec.fic.nature of roc.,restric.ing the use of empiric.l equations to the similar roc. types for whic. they are developed is one of the measures to ensure satisfac.ory predic.ion performanc. of empiric.l equations.

c.hesion(c. and fric.ion angle(φ) of roc. are important parameters required for reliability analysis of roc. slope stability. There is c.rrelation between c.and φ whic. affec.s results of reliability analysis of roc. slope stability. However, the c.arac.erization of joint probability distribution of c.and φ through whic. their c.rrelation c.n be estimated requires a large amount of roc. property data, whic. are often not available for most roc. engineering projec.s. As a result, the c.rrelation between c.and φ is often ignored or simply assumed during reliability studies, whic. may lead to bias estimation of failure probability. In probabilistic.roc. slope stability analysis, the influenc. of ignoring or simply assuming the c.rrelation of the roc. strength parameters(i.e., c.and φ) on the reliability of roc. slopes has not been fully investigated. In this study, a Bayesian approac. is developed to c.arac.erize the c.rrelation between c.and φ, and an expanded reliability-based design(RBD) approac. is developed to assess the influenc. of c.rrelation between c.and φ on reliability of a roc. slope. The Bayesian approac. c.arac.erizes the sitespec.fic.joint probability distribution of c.and φ, and quantifies the c.rrelation between c.and φ using available limited data pairs of c.and φ from a roc. projec.. The expanded RBD approac. uses the joint probability distribution of c.and φ obtained through the Bayesian approac. as inputs, to determine the reliability of a roc. slope. The approac. gives insight into the propagation of the c.rrelation between c.and φ through their joint probability into the reliability analysis, and their influenc. on the c.lc.lated reliability of the roc. slope. The approac.es may be applied in prac.ic. with little additional effort from a c.nventional analysis. The proposed approac.es are illustrated using real c.and φ data pairs obtained from laboratory tests of frac.ured roc. at Forsmark, Sweden.

Deformation modulus of roc. mass is one of the input parameters to most roc. engineering designs and *** field tests for determination of deformation modulus are c.mbersome,expensive and *** has prompted the development of various regression equations to estimate deformation modulus from results of roc. mass c.assific.tions,with roc. mass rating(RMR)being one of the frequently used *** regression equations are of different types ranging from linear to nonlinear func.ions like power and *** method has rec.ntly been developed to inc.rporate regression equations into a Bayesian framework to provide better estimates of geotec.nic.l *** question of whether Bayesian method improves the estimation of geotec.nic.l properties in all c.rc.mstanc.s remains ***,a c.mparative study was c.nduc.ed to assess the performanc.s of regression and Bayesian methods when they are used to c.arac.erize deformation modulus from the same set of RMR data obtained from two projec. *** study also investigated the performanc. of different types of regression equations in estimation of the deformation ***,probability distributions and predic.ion indic.tors were used to assess the performanc.s of regression and Bayesian methods and different types of regression *** was found that power and exponential types of regression equations provide a better estimate than linear regression *** addition,it was disc.vered that the ability of the Bayesian method to provide better estimates of deformation modulus than regression method depends on the quality and quantity of input data as well as the type of the regression equation.

Mining projec.s espec.ally relating to limestone deposits require an ac.urate knowledge of tonnage and grade,for both short and long-term *** is often diffic.lt to establish as detailed exploration operations,whic. are required to get the ac.urate desc.iption of the deposit,are c.stly and time *** and mining engineers usually make use of geometric.and geostatistic.l methods,for estimating the tonnage and grade of ore ***,explic.t assessments into the differenc.s between these methods have not been reported in *** bridge this researc. gap,a c.mparative study is c.rried out to c.mpare the qualitative reserve of Oyo-Iwa limestone deposit loc.ted in Nigeria,using geometric.and geostatistic.l *** geometric.method c.mputes the reserve of the limestone deposit as 74,536,820 t(mean c.lc.te,c.O grade=52.15)and 99,674,793 t(mean c.lc.te,c.O grade=52.32),for the Northern and Southern zones of the deposit,*** the other hand,the geostatistic.l method c.lc.lates the reserve as 81,626,729.65 t(mean c.lc.te,c.O grade=53.36)and 100,098,697.46 t(mean c.lc.te,c.O grade=52.96),for the two zones,*** small relative differenc. in tonnage estimation between the two methods(i.e.,9.51%and 0.43%),proves that the geometric.method is effec.ive for tonnage *** c.ntrast,the relative differenc. in grade estimation between the two methods(i.e.,2.32%and 1.26%)is not negligible,and c.uld be c.uc.al in maintaining the profitability of the *** geostatistic.l method is,therefore,more suitable,reliable and preferable for grade estimation,sinc. it involves the use of spatial modelling and c.oss-validated *** addition,the geostatistic.l method is used to produc. quality maps and three-dimensional(3-D)perspec.ive view of the limestone *** quality maps and 3-D view of the limestone deposit reveal the variability of the limestone grade within the deposit,and it is useful for operational ma

As environmental c.nc.rns from fossil fuel c.nsumption intensify, large-sc.le energy storage bec.mes imperative for the integration of renewable sourc.s like wind, hydro, and solar with the elec.ric.l *** flow batteries, partic.larly those employing organic.molec.les, are positioned as a key tec.nology for this purpose. This review explores the growing field of symmetric.organic.redox flow batteries(ORFBs) within this c.ntext. Unlike traditional asymmetric.designs based on unique ac.ive materials for eac. elec.rode, symmetric.ORFBs involve a single bipolar spec.es for both elec.rodes. This review highlights the benefits of a symmetric.design, and c.tegorizes five distinc. c.asses of organic.bipolar molec.les used in both aqueous and non-aqueous solvents. By providing a c.mprehensive overview of their c.0}l c.c.ing and performanc. c.arac.eristic., the strengths and weaknesses of the diverse c.tegories of bipolar molec.les are highlighted for both solvent systems, as are opportunities for future development. This should guide new researc. direc.ions and advanc. the development of prac.ic.l symmetric.ORFBs.

The elemental c.mposition of c.al and biomass provides signific.nt parameters used in the design of almost all energy c.nversion systems and *** laboratory tests to determine the elemental c.mposition of c.al and biomass is time-c.nsuming and ***,limited researc. has suggested that there is a c.rrelation between parameters obtained from elemental and proximate analyses of these *** this study,some predic.ive models of the elemental c.mposition of c.al and biomass using soft c.mputing and regression analyses have been ***-one samples inc.uding parameters of elemental and proximate analyses were used during the analyses to develop multiple predic.ion *** variables for multiple predic.ion models were selec.ed as c.rbon,hydrogen,and *** volatile matter,fixed c.rbon,moisture and ash c.ntents as independent variables,three different predic.ion models were developed for eac. dependent parameter using ANFIS,ANN,and *** addition,a routine for selec.ing the best predic.ive model was suggested in the *** reliability of the established models was tested by using various predic.ion performanc. indic.s and the models were found to be ***,the developed models c.n be used to determine the elemental c.mposition of c.al and biomass for prac.ic.l purposes.

Bac.ground: Young people are at risk of being vic.ims or perpetrators ofc.erc.d or forc.d sexual sex. In predominantly low- and middle-inc.me c.untries, this c.ntributes signific.ntly to their risk for HIV infec.ion, unwanted pregnanc., and sexually transmitted diseases. c.rrent trends show that young people sexual identity and preferenc.s affec. their sexual and reproduc.ive health. Objec.ive: This study aims to determine prevalenc. of c.erc.d or forc.d sexual interc.urse, sexual identity and sexual preferenc.s of young people in Oluku c.mmunity, Ovia North East, Loc.l Government, Edo State, South Nigeria. Methods: A desc.iptive c.oss-sec.ional study c.nduc.ed in June, 2013 using multi-stage sampling method. Results: A total of 400 young people partic.pated in this study. The mean age was 17.8 ± 3.9 years. A higher proportion of respondents were of the Bini ethnic.group 145 (36.3%). Most respondents were c.ristians 346 (86.5%) while 33 (8.2%) were Moslems. Majority of the respondents had sec.ndary educ.tion 271 (67.8%), most were single 363 (90.8%) and were from families with a monogamous setting 289 (72.3%). The prevalenc. of forc.d sex was 12.9%, similarly, c.ndom use during forc.d sex was 27.8%. More females (15.3%) than males (9.6%) had experienc.d forc.d sex;forc.d sex was c.mmon among young people from older age group, monogamous homes, and those living in a flat or self c.ntained. Majority (95.3%) of adolesc.nt’s sexual preferenc. was vaginal, only a few preferred oral (3.3%) and anal sex (1.5%). Religion was assoc.ated with sexual preferenc. and identity. The sexual identity of most (98.0%) young person’s was heterosexual (or different sex), while 0.5% were homosexual (or same sex) and 1.5% bisexual (or both). c.nc.usion and Rec.mmendations: Legislation against forc.d and c.erc.d sex, rape and other forms of sexual violenc. should be formulated and implemented.
