The aim of.the study was to bring scientif.c evidence of.the curative action of.the stem bark aqueous extract of.Schumanniophyton magnif.cum (ASMa) on the sexual maturation and f.rtility of.the immature f.male Wistar rat. f.rty immature f.male rats were randomized and divided into 4 groups of.ten animals each and orally treated with the ASMa at doses of.0 (distilled water), 200 mg/kg, 400 mg/kg and 800 mg/kg /BW/day f.r 30 consecutive days. Body weight and f.od intake were recorded throughout the experimental period. The precocity of.the puberty onset in treated animals was evaluated through the determination of.their age at vaginal opening. At the end of.the experimental period, 5 animals in each group were sacrif.ced and blood samples were collected f.r hormonal assay. Their ovaries and uteri were removed, blotted, weighted and prepared f.r biochemical analysis. The remaining rats (5 per group) were crossed with males of.proven f.rtility. Af.er laparotomy (ten days af.er mating) and delivery, f.rtility and gestational parameters were recorded. It was noticed that, body weight gain increased signif.cantly at all doses although there was no signif.cant dif.erence in f.od intake. The sexual maturation of.treated animal was reduced to 5 days when compared to control. This was associated with the simultaneous elevation of.f.H and LH (p f.800 mg/kg and f.H alone (p mg/kg. However, the ovarian cholesterol signif.cantly decreased (p f.cantly increased (p f.400 mg/kg and 800 mg/kg exhibited an early f.rtilization (2 - 3 days) when compared to the control one (9 - 14 days). The number of.implantation site signif.cantly increased (p f.er laparotomy as well as the number of.alive f.tuses af.er delivery and gestational rate (80% and 100%) respectively. This work was designed to investigate the acute and reproductive toxicity activity of.the aqueous extract of.the dry seeds of.Af.amomum daniellii on the f.male rats. The acute toxicity of.the aqueous extract of.Af.amomum daniellii (A. daniellii) was evaluated with 6 f.male rats which were divided into 2 groups (1 Test group and the Control group) of.3 f.male rats each. The control group received distilled water (10 mL/kg/po) and the test group received a single dose of.extract of.A. daniellii at the dose of.2000 mg/kg. The reproductive toxicity was evaluated using 45 adult f.male rats which were divided into 5 groups. Group I, received distilled water (1 mL/100 g/po, neutral control);group II, received Clomiphene citrate (600 μg/kg/po, positive control);Groups III, IV and V (trials) received aqueous extract of.A. daniellii at doses of.100, 200 and 400 mg/kg/po respectively. The animals were treated daily f.r 14 days. f.om the 6th day of.treatment, the rats were mated with males of.proven f.rtility f.r 8 days. On day 22, af.er laparotomy and delivery, the number of.implantation sites, corpora lutea, resorption sites and pups were recorded. Concerning the acute toxicity, it was observed that, af.er the single dose of.2000 mg/kg administration of.the aqueous extract of.the dry seeds of.A. daniellii, no deaths were recorded. Concerning the reproductive toxicity, no implantation and gestation were observed when compared to the control. However, the aqueous extract of.A. daniellii caused a signif.cant (p f.the dry seeds of.A daniellii is weakly toxic, but could negatively af.ect some reproductive parameters.

Aqueous roots extract of.Alchornea cordif.lia was studied to evaluate its traditional antif.rtility claim. Antif.rtility ef.ect of.Alchornea cordif.lia was evaluated according to the stages of.pregnancy of.f.male rats. In the f.rst stage, f.rty f.male rats were randomly divided into f.ur groups (10 rats/group) and respectively treated with 1 ml distilled water (control), 100, 200 and 400 mg/kg body weight (BW) per day of.Alchornea cordif.lia. Af.er laparotomy and at parturition, sites of.implantation and resorption on the uterine horns were determined. The ovaries and uterus were collected and weighed. Blood samples were collected f.r hormonal assay. In the second and third stage of.pregnancy, treatment schedule and antif.rtility parameters were assessed as above f.r the f.rst stage. Treated groups received daily 400 mg/kg bw of.extract of.Alchornea cordif.lia while Control group received distilled water. It was observed in the f.rst stage of.pregnancy that, the number of.resorption sites signif.cantly (p f.er laparotomy as well as the number of.pups at parturition at all doses. The body weight of.ovaries and uterine horns at dose 400 mg/kg signif.cantly (p f.cantly the concentrations of.serum progesterone. In the second stage of.pregnancy af.er laparotomy and at parturition, the number of.live f.tus and the survival ratio signif.cantly (p f.animals. In the third stage of.pregnancy, the extract caused an early parturition associated with a decreased number of.live f.tus and the survival ratio with p The results indicate that aqueous roots extract of.Alchornea cordif.lia could induce inhibitory ef.ects on reproductive f.nctions in f.male albino rats.

Sexual dysf.nction is a group of.diseases, disorders or dif.iculties experienced by men or women during any stage of.normal sexual activity. In Af.ica in general and Cameroon in particular, statistical data concerning the prevelance and the main causes of.male sexual dysf.nction are rare due to socio-cultural and religious burdens and sometimes self.medication. The objective of.this work was to determine the prevalences, comorbidities and the risk f.ctors of.the main sexual dysf.nction in some hospitals in city of.Douala. Through a descriptive retrospective study carried out f.om Novembre 2019 to June 2021, sociodemographic parameter, reasons of.consultation, risk f.ctors and type of.male sexual dysf.nction (erectile dysf.nction or erectile dysf.nction (ED), ejaculation disorders (EjD), libido disorders (LD) and disorders of.sexual activity with pain or painf.l sexual intercourse (PSI)) were collected in the medical f.les of.patients who have made urological consultation between 2016 and 2020 at the Deido District hospital, Laquintinie Douala Hospital and Douala General hospital respectively. At the end of.our data collection, out of.a total of.24995 consultations, 2743 (10.98%) patients were suf.ering f.om at least one male sexual dysf.nction. Moreover, sexual disorders were the 2nd reason of.urological consultation (13.69%) af.er urinary disorders (33.85%). Among sexual disorders, erectile (76%) and ejaculatory (20%) disorders were the predominant pathologies recorded with the prevalences of.9.79 et 2.62% respectively, and were mostly represented in patients f.om [41 - 50] f.r erectile dysf.nction, and [18 - 30] years old f.r ejaculative dysf.nction. In addition, the number of.patients with ejaculatory and erectile dysf.nctions was more important in patients f.om [18 - 30] and [31 - 40] years old respectively. In recent years, the rate of.inf.rtility has not stopped increasing in the world. The aim of.the present study was to evaluate the ef.ects of.the aqueous extract of.Schumanniophyton magnif.cum (Rubiaceae) on cyclicity, ovulation and gestation in mature rats. Methods: Af.er a qualitative phytochemical analysis of.these aqueous extracts, the experimental studies carried out were based on the evaluation of.the pro-f.rtility ef.ects of.this extract in mature rats. f.r this purpose, 35 rats were used f.r the estrous cyclicity test and treated f.r 21 days at the end of.which vaginal smears were taken and the duration, as well as the f.equency of.the appearance of.the phases of.the cycle, were evaluated. The ovulation test was perf.rmed on 80 f.male rats, which were divided into two groups of.40 animals and treated respectively in the morning and evening with distilled water, β-oestradiol or plant extract at doses of.200, 400 and 800 mg/kg. At the end of.estrus, the rats were sacrif.ced, the ovaries were removed and weighed, the hemorrhagic points counted and the blood samples were taken f.r hormonal studies. The last phase of.the study consisted in evaluating the ef.ects of.these plant extracts on the evolution of.gestation. Thus, 42 mature rats were treated during the periods f.om the 1st to the 10th day (1st stage), and f.om the 11th to the 17th day (2nd stage). At the end of.these two phases, a laparotomy was perf.rmed and the number of.implantation sites and corpus luteum was counted. And f.nally, at parturition, f.om the 18th to the 22nd day (3rd stage), the number of.living pups was perf.rmed and the gestational parameters were calculated. Results: Administration at the beginning of.prœstrus allowed a signif.cant increase (p S. magnif.cum extract. On the other hand, a signif.cant decrease in progesterone levels (p S. magnif.cum at doses of.200, 800 mg/kg (p S. magnif.cum when compared to the control (23 ± 0.16 d). Social interactivity in pigeon courtship behavior

A closed-loop teleprompter system was used to isolate and manipulate social interactivity in thenatural courtship interactions of.pigeons Columbia livia. In Experiment 1, a live f.ce-to-f.ce real-time interaction between 2 courting pigeons （Live） was compared to a played back version of.thevideo stimulus recorded during the pairs Live interaction. We f.und that pigeons were behavinginteractively; their behavior depended on the relationships between their own signals and those of.heir partner. In Experiment 2, we tested whether social interactivity relies on spatial cues presentin the f.cing direction of.a partner＇s display. By moving the teleprompter camera 90~ away f.om itsoriginal location, the partner＇s display was manipulated to appear as if.it is directed 90~ away f.omthe subject. We f.und no ef.ect of.spatial of.set on the pigeon＇s behavioral response. In Experiment3, 3 time delays, 1 s, 3s, and 9s, a Live condition, and a playback condition were chosen to investi-gate the importance of.temporal contiguity in social interactivity. f.rthermore, both opposite-sex（courtship） and same-sex （rivalry） pairs were studied to investigate whether social-context af.ectssocial interactivity sensitivity. Our results showed that pigeon courtship behavior is sensitive totemporal contiguity. Behavior declined in the 9 s and Playback conditions as compared to Live con-dition and the shorter time delays. f.r males only, courtship behavior also increased in the 3-sdelay condition. The ef.ect of.social interactivity and time delay was not observed in rivalry inter-actions, suggesting that social interactivity may be specif.c to courtship.

Inf.uence of.Processing Parameters on the Strength of.Air Brazed Alumina Joints Using Aluminium Interlayer

Alumina specimens were joined together with thin aluminium interlayer at 750 and 900°C under dif.erent applied pressures and holding time in air. f.exural strength of.the joints was then measured using a standard f.ur-point bend test method. Characterization of.the interf.ce was carried out to correlate the increase in f.exural strength with the applied pressure, holding temperature and time. The study showed that the strength of.joint is af.ected by all three parameters, i.e., processing temperature, holding time as well as applied pressure.

The birth hour of.mammals:insights f.om intra-specif.c variation in wild blue monkeys
