In <i>Silico</i>Analysis of Cross Reactivity between Lipocalin of Domestic Animals

Lipocalins are one of the groups of allergens derived from domestic animals with clinical importance for the development of allergic responses. They have been characterized in different animals. With allergenic capacity characterized, little is known about the epitopes involved in allergic responses. Here, potential antigenic regions involved in cross-reactivity among lipocalins were explored through bioinformatics tools. The amino acid sequences of several lipocalins from different domestic animals (mouse, dog, cat, bull, hamster, horse and pig) were used to determine the degree of kinship by phylogenetic studies. Groups with highest phylogenetic relation were obtained by using MEGA software. 3D models of lipocalins not reported in the protein data bank were modeled by homology to identify potential antigenic regions compromised in the cross-reactivity of this group of allergens. The alignment of the entire database of allergenic lipocalins and the inferred maximum likelihood tree segregate lipocalins into five monophyletic clades (referenced here as A, B, C, D and E). According to the multiple pairing analyzes, group C (Fel d 4, Rat n 1 and Equ c 1) showed the highest degree of identity among their amino acid sequences (58%). The analysis of conserved and exposed residues showed that group C shares three antigenic regions that could potentially contribute to its cross-reactivity. Potential antigenic sites were identified for the generation of cross-reactivity between the different lipocalins analyzed in this study. These studies support the need to carry out directed mutagenesis tests to confirm their relevance in the allergenic capacity of lipocalins.

Investigation of WZ Sge-type Dwarf Nova ASASSN-19oc: Optical Spectroscopy and Multicolor Light Curve Analysis

In this study,we present an investigation of the newly discovered dwarf nova ASASSN-19oc during its superoutburst on 2019 June *** carried out detailed UBVRcIc-photometric observations and also obtained a spectrum on day 7 of the outburst,which shows the presence of hydrogen absorption lines commonly found in dwarf nova *** of photometric data reveals the occurrence of early superhumps in the initial days of observations,followed by ordinary and late *** have accurately calculated the period of the ordinary superhumps as Pord=0.05681（10） days and determined the periods at different stages,as well as the rate of change of the superhump period (Pdot=（5）P/P=8.1×10-5).Additionally,we have derived the mass ratio of the components （q=0.09）,and estimated the color temperature during the outburst as～11,000 K,the distance to the system （d=560 pc） and absolute magnitude of the system in outburst （MV=5.3）.We have shown that outbursts of this star are very rare:based on brightness measurements on 600 archival photographic plates,we found only one outburst that occurred in *** fact,as well as the properties listed above,convincingly shows that the variable ASASSN-19oc is a dwarf nova of WZ Sge type.

Transcript Accumulation Dynamics of Phenylpropanoid Pathway Genes in the Maturing Xylem and Phloem of Picea abies during Latewood Formation

In temperate regions, latewood is produced when cambial activity declines with the approach of autumnal dormancy. The understanding of the temporal （cambium activity vs dormancy） and spatial （phloem, cambial region, maturing xylem） regulation of key genes involved in the phenylpropanoid pathway during latewood formation represents a crucial step towards providing new insights into the molecular basis of xylogenesis. In this study, the temporal pattern of transcript accumulation of 12 phenylpropanoid genes （PAL1, C4H315, C4H4, 4CL3, 4CL4, HCT1, C3H3, CCoAOMT1, COMT2, COMT5, CCR2） was analyzed in maturing xylem and phloem of Picea abies during latewood formation. Quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction analyses revealed a well-defined RNA accumulation pattern of genes involved in the phenylpropanoid pathway during latewood formation. Differences in the RNA accumulation patterns were detected between the different tissue types analyzed. The results obtained here demonstrated that the molecular processes involved in monolignol biosynthesis are not restricted to the cambial activity timeframe but continued after the end of cambium cell proliferation. Furthermore, since it has been shown that lignification of maturing xylem takes place in late autumn, we argue on the basis of our data that phloem could play a key role in the monoliqnol biosynthesis process.

Dear Editor, Flavonols are synthesized by flavonol synthase （FLS） enzymes （Martens et al., 2010）. These compounds absorb UV-B light in the 280-320-nm region and their concentration increases in plants exposed to environmental abiotic and biotic stresses, including UV-B; consequently, flavonols are thought to act as UV-B filters （Agati et al., 2011）. It has been also suggested that these metabolites function as reactive oxygen species （ROS） scavengers, as they contain an OH- group in the 3-position of the flavonoid skeleton, which allows them to chelate metals, inhibiting the formation of free radicals and ROS accumula- tion, once formed （Agati et al., 2009）. For these reasons, it has been suggested that flavonols play uncharacterized roles in UV responses （Verdan et al., 2011）. Nevertheless, despite the fact that the role of flavonols in UV-B protection has been inferred, the protection conferred by flavonols on the target sites of UV-B-damage has not been directly proven in planta.

本研究以印度尼西亚班达亚齐的拾荒者儿童教育园开展的信息素养教育为研究对象,通过对教育园任教教师和家长的访谈和问卷调查,分析印度尼西亚班达亚齐的拾荒者儿童教育园儿童信息素养教育的现状及开展儿童信息素养教育的条件,分析印度尼西亚班达亚齐的拾荒者儿童教育园儿童信息素养技能教育存在的主要问题,并提出改进的建议。研究结果表明:目前印度尼西亚班达亚齐的拾荒者儿童教育园对幼儿信息素养教育没有达到预期的影响和效果,从课堂所使用的教学媒体状况可以看出,学校还没有创造一个有利于儿童信息素养技能学习的环境。在信息素养教育和学习过程中,印度尼西亚班达亚齐的拾荒者儿童教育园目前没有实施和设计信息素养相关的学习课程。此外,除了学校条件并不良好的学习课程外,教师的作用也表明,教师的教学能力和创造有利环境的能力较差,教师在课堂上很少与孩子交谈。同时调查表明,儿童早期的信息素养教育离不开父母的作用,但是老师与家长的交流存在一定问题,家长对于信息素养教育的重要性也比较模糊,没有给与孩子正确的鼓励,家长和孩子一起阅读的活动较少。

本研究探索印度尼西亚广告中的女性形象,消费资本主义和伊斯兰教。使用批判性研究分析了印度尼西亚第一个清真化妆品Wardah广告里的穆斯林女性形象。本研究共收录了六十四个Wardah电视广告案例,主要采取社会符号学法和深度访谈法。通过社会符号学发现,穆斯林女性在广告中最为突出的特征为善良和被赋权。此外,通过对十二为印度尼西亚穆斯林女性的深访发现,由于被受访者认为这两个特征理想化了她们的自我形象及符合伊斯兰价值观的女性形象,因此给她们带来鼓舞。本研究呈现出了世界上穆斯林人口最多的国家印度尼西亚如何在广告中塑造其代表性的穆斯林女性形象,同时女性受众如何解读广告中的理想形象。

Impact of the adherence to medical treatment on the main urinary metabolic disorders in patients with kidney stones

Objective:To assess the effect of the adherence to medical treatment on urinary parameters in the 24-h metabolic study of patients with kidney ***:A retrospective,longitudinal,descriptive,and observational study was carried out by reviewing the hospital electronic medical record from 2014 to *** adherence to drug treatment was measured 6 months after its initiation,and the numerical values of the metabolic studies were *** tests were performed to compare the difference before and after ***:Ninety patients were evaluated,with 73.3% of *** 180-day overall adherence rate was 61.2% in patients treated with a single drug and 85.4% in patients treated with multiple *** is a statistically significant increase in citrate levels in patients with good adherence in comparison with non-adherent patients(p=0.031 vs.p=0.528).Conclusions:Medical treatment and dietary measures in patients with kidney stones have an initial impact at 6 months on the values of the main urinary metabolic alterations that predispose to calculi formation;the most significant is seen in those patients with adherence to medical treatment for hypocitraturia.

Prognostic factors for recurrence of gastrointestinal bleeding due to Dieulafoy's lesion

AIM:To analyze the effectiveness of the endoscopic therapy and to identify prognostic factors for recurrent ***:Retrospective study of patients with gastrointestinal bleeding secondary to Dieulafoy's lesion(DL) from 2005 to *** analyzed the demographic characteristics of the patients,risk factors for gastrointestinal bleeding,endoscopic findings,characteristics of the endoscopic treatment,and the recurrence of *** included cases in which endoscopy described a lesion compatible with *** excluded patients who had potentially bleeding lesions such as angiodysplasia in other areas or had undergone other gastrointestinal endoscopic ***:Twenty-nine patients with DL were *** of them were men with an average age of 71.5 ***-five percent of the patients received antiaggregatory or anticoagulant *** most common location for DL was the stomach(51.7%).The main type of bleeding was oozing in 65.5% of *** 27.6% of cases,there was arterial(spurting) bleeding,and 6.9% of the patients presented with an adherent clot.A single endoscopic treatment was applied to nine patients(31%);eight of them with adrenaline and one with argon,while 69% of the patients received combined *** patients(20.7%) presented with recurrent bleeding at a median of 4 d after endoscopy(interquartile range = 97.75).Within these six patients,the new endoscopic treatment obtained a therapeutic success of 100%.The presence of arterial bleeding at endoscopy was associated with a higher recurrence rate for bleeding(50% vs 33.3% for other type of bleeding) [P = 0.024,odds ratio(OR) = 8.5,95% CI = 1.13-63.87].The use of combined endoscopic treatment prevented the recurrence of bleeding(10% vs 44.4% of single treatment)(P = 0.034,OR = 0.14,95% CI = 0.19-0.99).CONCLUSION:Endoscopic treatment of DL is safe and *** monotherapy and arterial(spurting) bleeding are associated with a high rate of bleeding recurrence.

Comparative Analysis of Three Torbangun Clones (<i>Plectranthus amboinicus</i>(Lour.) Spreng) Based on Phenotypic Characteristics and Phenolic Content

Torbangun is a folk herb that has been used especially as a breast milk stimulant in North Sumatra, Indonesia. Plant bioactive compound composition is influenced by many factors such as genotype, geographical origin, and environment. Therefore, identifying plant clones with superior chemical composition is a necessity for optimal large-scale production. In this study, three clones of torbangun (hereafter referred to as A, B, and C clones) were analyzed through their phenotypic and foliar phenolic characteristics. The phenotypic results showed that the A clone was distinct from the B and C clones. Nevertheless, the result of multivariate analysis using phenolic data showed that these three clones had three distinct patterns of phenolic compounds. The B clone torbangun was identified as the best clone to be used in larger production scale due to its highest quantity of most phenolic compounds.
