Utilization of Logistical Regression to the Modified Sine-Gordon Model in the MST Experiment

In this paper, a logistical regression statistical analysis (LR) is presented for a set of variables used in experimental measurements in reversed field pinch (RFP) machines, commonly known as “slinky mode” (SM), observed to travel around the torus in Madison Symmetric Torus (MST). The LR analysis is used to utilize the modified Sine-Gordon dynamic equation model to predict with high confidence whether the slinky mode will lock or not lock when compared to the experimentally measured motion of the slinky mode. It is observed that under certain conditions, the slinky mode “locks” at or near the intersection of poloidal and/or toroidal gaps in MST. However, locked mode cease to travel around the torus;while unlocked mode keeps traveling without a change in the energy, making it hard to determine an exact set of conditions to predict locking/unlocking behaviour. The significant key model parameters determined by LR analysis are shown to improve the Sine-Gordon model’s ability to determine the locking/unlocking of magnetohydrodyamic (MHD) modes. The LR analysis of measured variables provides high confidence in anticipating locking versus unlocking of slinky mode proven by relational comparisons between simulations and the experimentally measured motion of the slinky mode in MST.

In Vitro assessment of the nutritive value of expanded soybean meal for dairy cattle

Little information is available about the nutritive value of expanded soybean meal, which is produced by expansion of soybeans prior to solvent extraction of the oil. During processing, expanded soybean meal is subjected to additional heat, which might increase the concentration of ruminally undegraded protein. Processing of soybeans with heat during oil extraction could affect lysine availability by increasing ruminally undegraded protein or by impairing intestinal digestion. Our objective was to compare solvent and expanded soybeans with regard to chemical composition and nutritive value for dairy cattle. Samples of expanded soybean meal （n = 14） and solventextracted soybean meal （n = 5） were obtained from People＇s Republic of China to study effects of the expansion process on nutritive value for dairy cattle. Solvent-extracted soybean meal （n = 2） and mechanically extracted （heated） soybean meal （n = 2） from the United States served as references for comparison. Samples were analyzed for crude fat, long-chain fatty acids, crude protein, amino acids, chemically available lysine, in situ ruminal protein degradation, and in vitro intestinal digestibility. No differences were found between solvent-extracted soybean meals from China and expanded soybean meals from China for crude fat, crude protein, amino acids, or chemically available lysine. In situ disappearance of nitrogen, ruminally undegraded protein content, and in vitro intestinal digestion of the ruminally undegraded protein were generally similar between solvent-extracted soybean meals made in China and expanded soybean meals made in China; variation among soybean meals was small. Results indicate that the additional heat from the expansion process was not great enough to affect the nutritive value of soybean meal protein for ruminants. Colorectal cancer(CRC) is a devastating disease, mainly because of metastasis. As a result, there is a need to better understand the molecular basis of invasion and metastasis and to identify new biomarkers and therapeutic targets to aid in managing these tumors. The actin cytoskeleton and actin-binding proteins are known to play an important role in the process of cancer metastasis because they control and execute essential steps in cell motility and contractility as well as cell division. Caldesmon(CaD) is an actin-binding protein encoded by the CALD1 gene as multiple transcripts that mainly encode two protein isoforms: High-molecular-weight CaD, expressed in smooth muscle, and low-molecular weight CaD(l-CaD), expressed in nonsmooth muscle cells. According to our comprehensive review of the literature, CaD, particularly l-CaD, plays a key role in the development, metastasis, and resistance to chemoradiotherapy in colorectal, breast, and urinary bladder cancers and gliomas, among other malignancies. CaD is involved in many aspects of the carcinogenic hallmarks, including epithelial mesenchymal transition via transforming growth factor-beta signaling, angiogenesis, resistance to hormonal therapy, and immune evasion. Recent data show that CaD is expressed in tumor cells as well as in stromal cells, such as cancerassociated fibroblasts, where it modulates the tumor microenvironment to favor the tumor. Interestingly, CaD undergoes selective tumor-specific splicing, and the resulting isoforms are generally not expressed in normal tissues, making these transcripts ideal targets for drug design. In this review, we will analyze these features of CaD with a focus on CRC and show how the currently available data qualify CaD as a potential candidate for targeted therapy in addition to its role in the diagnosis and prognosis of cancer.

Linezolid versus Vancomycin for the Treatment of Methicillin-Resistant <i>Staphylococcus aureus</i>in Hospital-Acquired, Ventilator-Associated, and Healthcare-Associated Pneumonia at Tertiary Care Hospital

Aim: To evaluate morbidity and mortality rate, clinical cure rate and cost of linezolid versus vancomycin in patients who have hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP), ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) or Healthcare-associated pneumonia (HCAP) caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Methods: Retrospective analysis data. Data were collected for adult patients admitted to King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre-jeddah (KFSH & RC-j) from january 2010 to May 2015. Method: A total of 88 patients with HAP, VAP and HCAP caused by MRSA treated with vancomycin (IV) or linezolid (IV or PO) either as empirically or directed therapy ≥ 7 days. They are retrospectively evaluated and analyzed. The primary end points are morbidity and mortality rate as well as clinical cure rate. The secondary end point is the cost analysis for each medication. Results: A total of 40 patients (ICU, n = 13 (32.5% and non ICU, n = 27 (67.5%)) were included in the study. Among vancomycin, n = 21 (52.5%);age (54.95 ± 18.255) and linezolid, n = 19 (74.5%);age (48.684 ± 25.593), there was no statistical differences in mortality and morbidity rate (P = 0.375). Clinical cure rate (fever improvement, 12 (57.1%) vs 12 (63.2%);P = 0.698, leukocytosis improvement, 15 (71.4%) vs 14 (73.7%);P = 0.873, purulent sputum improvement, 6 (28.6%) vs 4 (21.1%);P = 0.429, dyspnea improvement, 8 (38.1%) vs 3 (15.8%);P = 0.115,cough improvement 4 (19.0%) vs 4 (21.1%);P = 0.592, microbiological eradication of MRSA from sputum culture, 2 (9.5%) vs 6 (31.6%);P = 0.089 and improvement of radiographic finding (pulmonary infiltration), 17 (81.0%) vs 16 (84.2%);P = 0.559) of vancomycin vs linezolid, respectively. The cost analysis in the treatment of MRSA pneumonia with linezolid is statistical significantly higher than vancomycin. Synthesis,antimicrobial, antiquorum-sensing and cytotoxic activities of new series of benzothiazole derivatives

New series of benzothiazole derivatives were designed and synthesized. The newly synthesized compounds were screened for their antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus cereus. Compounds 6j and 6o showed the highest activity against E. coli and S. aureus. The antifungal activity of these compounds was also tested against Candida albicans and Aspergillus fumigatus293. Compounds 4c, 4g and 6j exhibited the highest activity against C. albicans. In addition, compounds4 a and 6j displayed promising activity against A. fumigatus 293. The same compounds were examined for their antiquorum-sensing activity against Chromobacterium violaceum ATCC 12472, whereas compounds4 a, 6j and 6p showed moderate activity. The in vitro cytotoxicity testing of the synthesized compounds was performed against cervical cancer（Hela） and kidney fibroblast cancer（COS-7） cell lines. Results indicated that all tested compounds have IC50 values 〉50 mmol/L against both cell lines. Molecular properties, toxicities, drug-likeness, and drug score profiles of compounds 4a–c, 5a, 6g,h, 6j, 6l, 6o and7 c,d were also assessed.

The bioactive triterpenoid 3-oxo-6-β-hydroxy-β-amyrin(1)has been isolated from multiple plant *** this study,chloroform fraction of Pistacia integerrima extract was processed for the isolation of the *** compound identity was confirmed by advanced spectroscopy technique.X-ray crystallography was applied for molecular structure *** addition,compound 1 was screen for its activity on reversal of MDR(multidrug resistance)mediated by P-gp(P-glycoprotein).This was accomplished by using rhodamine123 exclusion on multidrug-resistant human ABCB1 gene transfected mouse T-lymphoma cell *** revealed that MDR reversing effect was comparable to verapamil as positive control in *** of TPA-induced tumor promotion with 3-oxo-6β-hydroxy-β-amyrin led to reduction in the applied anti-tumor promotion *** chemo-preventive effect of 3-oxo-6β-hydroxy-β-amyrin was comparable to curcumin as positive control based on the reduction of immediate early tumor antigen *** docking by applying Autodock Vina 1 and i-GEMDOCK v 2.1 tools indicated that compound 1 gives good docking results,as determined by their fitness score and ***,results showed that compound 1 isolated from Pistacia integerrima precisely attached to a region where co-crystallized ligand for receptor previously *** findings may explain the use of Pistacia integerrima plant extracts as an anticancer agent in folk medicine.

语义Web服务组合的形式化描述和验证,是保证组合服务能正确运行的重要前提基础。首先描述基于答案集编程(Answer Set Programming)的OWL-S建模方法,并分析基于答案集编程建模的优势。然后给出OWL-S流程模型中几种控制结构到中间模型Petri网的映射,并提出由Petri网生成答案集编程的算法。同时将时态约束引入到组合服务验证中,利用时态约束表达待验证性质,将验证问题转换为求解逻辑程序的答案集。最后通过一个具体的实例说明该方法的有效性。
