Self-medica.ion ma. be a.socia.ed with side effects a.d increa.es the cha.ce of drug intera.tions a.d a.so a.fects the a.herence to trea.ment a.d qua.ity of life. This study a.ms a. determining the pa.tern of self-medica.ion, identifying knowledge, a.titude a.d self-reported pra.tices concerning the usa.e of the drugs a.d identifying demogra.hic fa.tors tha. could influence self-medica.ion pra.tices a.ong the genera. popula.ion in El-Minia. Egypt. a.community-ba.ed cross-sectiona. study wa. conducted a.ong 422 ra.domly selected a.ults using a.multi-sta.e ra.dom sa.pling technique. Da.a.were collected by using a.structured interview questionna.re. Respondents who ha. pra.ticed some sort of self-medica.ion during the pa.t month were 73% of the sa.ple. The commonest ca.se of self-medica.ion, illness, wa. perceived a. minor (59.7%). The most common perceived illness for self-medica.ion wa. common cold (90.6%). Older respondents (>40 yea.s) were a.out twice more likely to pra.tice self-medica.ion tha. younger ones. Simila.ly, professiona.s in their work were 3.4 times more likely to pra.tice self-medica.ion tha. unemployed individua.s. Self-medica.ion is a.rela.ively frequent problem in Minia.a.d interventions a. different levels a.e required.

Methods: Pregna.t women with documented COVID-19 infection who visited the a.tena.a. ca.e clinic of El Sha.by Ma.ernity Hospita., a.exa.dria. Egypt, from Ma. 2020 to Ma. 2021 were selected a.d cla.sified into three groups a.cording to the illness severity: mild, modera.e, a.d severe. Feta. well-being wa. exa.ined using the umbilica. a.d cerebra. Doppler a.d nonstress test (NST). The estima.ed feta. weight a.d a.niotic fluid volume were a.so eva.ua.ed. a.ter delivery, the neona.es were eva.ua.ed through a.ga. scoring a. 1 a.d 5 min, cord blood sa.ples, a.d neona.a. na.opha.yngea. swa.s. Results: a.norma. umbilica. a.d cerebra. Doppler findings, a.norma. NST results, higher incidence of cesa.ea. section (CS) a.d emergency CS, a.d poor perina.a. outcomes were observed in severe ca.es. Modera.e a.d mild ma.erna. infections ha. neither a. a.verse perina.a. outcome nor a. effect on the mode of delivery. Conclusion: Severe COVID-19 infection ca. a.fect the perina.a. outcome.

a.new series of benzothia.ole Schiff ba.es 3–29 wa. synthesized a.d screened for a.titumor a.tivity a.a.nst cervica. ca.cer（Hela. a.d kidney fibrobla.t ca.cer（COS-7） cell lines. Results indica.ed tha. compounds 3, 14, 19, 27 a.d 28 ha.e promising a.tivity a.a.nst Hela.cell line with IC50 va.ues of 2.41,3.06, 6.46, 2.22 a.d 6.25 mmol/L, respectively, in compa.ison to doxorubicin a. a.reference a.titumor a.ent（IC50 2.05 mmol/L）. In a.dition, compound 3 displa.ed excellent a.tivity a.a.nst COS-7 cell line with IC50 va.ue of 4.31 mmol/L in compa.ison to doxorubicin（IC50 3.04 mmol/L）. a.m of the study: Exa.ing the role of Methylene tetra.hydrofola.e reducta.e (MTHFR C677T) polymorphisms in unexpla.ned fema.e infertility. Methods: The study wa. conducted on women with unexpla.ned infertility a.tending the Infertility Clinic a. El-Sha.by University Hospita., a.exa.dria. during the period from October 2020 to October 2021. Uterine a.tery Doppler a.sessment a.d detection of MTHFR C677T gene muta.ion were done. The frequencies of homozygous a.d heterozygous gene muta.ions were determined. Results: In group I, 35 ca.es ha. a.norma. uterine a.tery Doppler compa.ed to 22 norma. ca.es in group II. a. rega.ds MTHFR C677T gene muta.ion, 19 ca.es were positive in group I (7 were homozygous a.d 12 were heterozygous) a.d only one ca.e wa. positive in group II (heterozygous) which wa. sta.istica.ly significa.t. Conclusion: MTHFR C677T gene polymorphisms ma. pla. a.role in unexpla.ned infertility.

The Need for Ca.dia. Pa.ing a.ter Isola.ed Corona.y a.tery Bypa.s Gra.t Surgery

Ba.kground: The a.m of this study is to a.sess the necessity of tempora.y ca.dia. pa.ing a.d identify the predictors of pa.ing a.ter corona.y a.tery bypa.s gra.t (Ca.G). Methods: This wa. a.retrospective observa.iona. study of 150 pa.ients who ha. isola.ed Ca.G between November 2013 a.d December 2021. Pa.ients were cla.sified into two groups: group a. (n = 135) who did not need to be pa.ed a.d group B, (n = 15) who needed tempora.y epica.dia. pa.ing. Only 10% (15/150) of pa.ients in the study needed pa.ing. The prima.y outcome va.ia.le wa. a.sessment of the need for postopera.ive tempora.y ca.dia. pa.ing (TCP) (pa.ients were pa.ed during chest closure or a. a.y time during hospita. a.mission). The incidence of pa.ing during the postopera.ive period wa. observed. Univa.ia.e a.d multiva.ia.e predictors for postopera.ive pa.ing were determined a.d specicific predictors for ca.dia. pa.ing were found. Results: In both univa.ia.e a.d multiva.ia.e a.a.ysis, Old a.e > 65 yea.s, dia.etes mellitus, pa.ing to come off ca.diopulmona.y bypa.s (CPB), CPB time > 100 min, ca.dioversion to lea.e OR, a.tia.rhythmics to lea.e OR a.d new onset of a.ria. fibrilla.ion (a.), were found to be significa.t predictors for the need to ca.dia. pa.ing. Conclusion: a.ter corona.y a.tery bypa.s surgery, a.sma.l percenta.e of pa.ients require TCP. We empha.ize unique predictors for postopera.ive pa.ing in this study.

Increa.ed incidence of DNa.fra.menta.ion a.d a.optosis were evident in pups of dia.etic a.d/or a.-intoxica.ed mothers. However, retina.of pups ma.erna.ly received M. a.ba.extra.t plus dia.etes or a.-intoxica.ed a.one or in combina.ion showed ma.ked a.eliora.ion. 背景肥胖是21世纪重要的健康问题之一,是导致死亡的一个重要因素。虽然肥胖在很大程度上是由饮食和生活方式等因素造成。但研究表明,一些与调节能量消耗和食物摄入途径有关的基因也与肥胖相关,其中过氧化物酶体增殖物激活受体γ2(PPa.γ2)特别受关注。目的本研究的目的是探讨湖北汉族人群中PPa.γ2基因Pro12a.a.C161T多态性与肥胖的相关性,并对所有先前报道的这两个多态与肥胖的关联进行Meta.析。材料与方法研究样本包括642例肥胖病患者和499例正常对照。测量的样本临床指标检测包括体重、腰围、臀围、餐后两小时空腹血糖、收缩压、舒张压、总胆固醇、三酰甘油、高密度脂蛋白、低密度脂蛋白和空腹胰岛。共24篇PPa.γ2基因Pro12a.a.态与肥胖相关的研究和5篇C161T多态与肥胖相关性的研究用于Meta.析。采用限制性片段长度多态性(PCR-RFLP)分析对PPa.y2基因Pro12a.a.C161T多态进行基因分型。采用x2检验和Logistic回归分析对Pro12a.a.C161T多态与肥胖进行关联分析。肥胖病例组与正常对照组的组间比较采用t检验。Pa.析中,采用Sta.a.0.0软件分析各研究间的异质性。根据各研究间是否存在异质性选择随机或固定模型计算总OR值。结果在湖北汉族人群中PPa.y2基因Pro12a.a.a.位基因频率在病例-对照组间的分布无显著差异(病例组a.位基因频率为6.7%,对照组a.位基因频率为5.1%),但在男性人群中,病例组a.位基因频率为11%,显著高于对照组的4%。我们鉴定了24篇关于PPa.y2基因Pro12a.a.态与肥胖关联研究的文章,Meta.析表明,中国人群a.位基因的总OR值为1.754(95%CI1.077-2.858,P=0.024),东亚人群中总OR值为1.489(95%CI1.045-2.121,P=0.028),在所有人群的总OR值为1.301(95%CI1.109-1.527,P=0.001),都达到了显著水平。在湖北汉族人群中,PPa.y2基因C161T多态CC基因型频率和C等位基因频率在病例-对照两组间的分布有显著差异(CC：59.2%vs.48.3%,p=0.008;C：76.5%vs.69%,P=0.006)。我们鉴定了5篇PPa.y2基因C161T多态与肥胖关联研究的文章,Meta.析表明,CC+CT基因型与肥胖显著相关(OR=1.713,95%CI1.111-2.642,P=0.015),但C等位基因与肥胖无显著相关性(OR=1.194,95%C10.924-1.543,P=0.176)。结论在湖北汉族人群中,PPa.y2基因C161T多态与肥胖显著相关。所有人群的Meta.析表明PPa.γ2基因C161T和Pro12a.a.态均与肥胖显著关联。
