Lung cancer remains a major concern in modern oncology due to its high mortality rates and multifaceted origins, including hereditary factors and various clinical changes. It stands as the deadliest type of cancer and a significant cause of cancer-related deaths globally. Early diagnosis enables healthcare providers to administer appropriate treatment measures promptly and accurately, leading to improved prognosis and higher survival rates. The significant increase in both the incidence and mortality rates of lung cancer, particularly its ranking as the second most prevalent cancer among women worldwide, underscores the need for comprehensive research into efficient screening methods. Advances in diagnostic techniques, particularly the use of computed tomography (CT) scans, have revolutionized the identification of lung cancer. CT scans are renowned for their ability to provide high-resolution images and are particularly effective in detecting small, calcified areas, crucial for identifying early-stage lung cancer. Consequently, there is growing interest in enhancing computer-aided detection (CAD) systems. These algorithms assist radiologists by reducing false-positive interpretations and improving the accuracy of early cancer diagnosis. This study aims to enhance the effectiveness of CAD systems through various methods. Initially, the Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) algorithm is employed to preprocess CT scan images, thereby improving their visual quality. Further refinem.nt is achieved by integrating different optimization strategies with the CLAHE method. The CutMix data augmentation technique is applied to boost the performance of the proposed model. A comparative analysis is conducted using deep learning architectures such as Inception-V3, Resnet101, Xception, and Efficientnet. A cheap method allowing fabrication of biocompatible,ultra-small(2-10 nm)and fluorescent(λ_(em)=425-500 nm)nanohybrids(nHs)from coffee wastes is *** gadolinium-doped nanohybrids(GDnHs)or gadolinium-free carbon dots(GFCDs)can be synthesized in a domestic microwave oven according to green synthesis *** sizes,chemical composition,impact on proton magnetic resonance relaxation time and optical properties of the GDnHs and GFCDs were studied in details and *** particular,doping of the nHs with Gd^(3+)ions,up to 1.87%w/w of gadolinium per particles’weight,will allow their application for magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).Furthermore,cell culture tests on human adenocarcinomic alveolar basal epithelial cells line(A549)have shown high biocompatibility of the GDnHs and in a wide concentration range 100-1000μg/ml.

以研究漂浮绿藻中的缘管浒苔(Ulva linza)为出发点,根据绿藻的形态学特征,选取漂浮绿藻中具有***重要特征的藻体进行形态学、分子生物学的分类学研究.结果显示,具有***重要特征的漂浮藻体大多为LPP复合体(***-procera-prolifera)类群(15个样品),而且采自江苏的DF05、山东的QD03以及浙江的XS01、XS02等4个固着类型的样品也在该分支中.Ulva flexuosa分支中有2个样品(均为采自福建的固着种类),Ulva compressa分枝包含了如东的4个漂浮样品.采自如东内河、射阳沿海池塘的漂浮藻体也均被包含在LPP复合体中.25个样品中只有4个被鉴定为***,与其形态特征研究结果相符合.漂浮绿藻的形态学特征与分子生物学研究结果存在很大差别.这说明单纯地依靠传统分类学特征或分子生物学手段对漂浮绿藻中的缘管浒苔(***)进行分类是不可取的,甚至对漂浮绿藻都不能适用.在同一地点采集到的漂浮绿藻中,大都存在不同形态特征的类型,经过分子生物学分析后被鉴定为不同的种类.根据ITS序列的系统进化树分析结果,绿潮藻中至少存在LPP复合体中的种类以及***.

Recurrence of inflammatory pseudotumor in the distal bile duct: Lessons learned from a single case and reported cases

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors （IMTs） or inflammatory pseudotumors （IPs） have been extensively discussed in the literature. They are usually found in the lung and upper respiratory tract. However, reporting of cases involving the biliopancreatic region has increased over recent years. Immunohistochemical study of these lesions limited to the pancreatic head or distal bile duct seems to be compatible with those observed in a new entity called autoimmune pancreatitis, but usually intense fibrotic reaction （zonation） predominates producing a mass. When this condition is limited to the pancreatic head, the common bile duct might be involved by the inflammatory process and jaundice may occur often resembling adenocarcinoma of the pancreas. We have previously reported a case of IMT arising from the bile duct associated with autoimmune pancreatitis which is an extremely rare entity. Four years after Kaush-Whipple resection, radiological examination on routine follow-up revealed a tumor mass, suggesting local recurrence. Ultrasound-guided FnA confirmed our suspicious diagnosis. This present case, as others, suggests that persistent follow-up is necessary in order to prevent irreversible liver damage at this specific location.

ng>Objectives:ng> To study the change of CD16 + 56 in zona. ng>Materials and Methods:ng> 62 zona patients admitted at Inpatient Department of Dermatology, Venereology Allergy, 108 Military Central Hospital, and 30 healthy volunteers who were matched for age and sex participated in this study. Prospective, cross-sectional study with controls was conducted. We measured the number of CD16 + CD56 by flow cytometry using FACS Callibur. ng>Results:ng> The mean level of CD16 + 56 in zona patients was 253 ± 200 (106 cells/l), which was lower than that of control group but then increased after treatment. The change of CD16 + 56 did not correlate with patients’ age. Patients who were in severe condition or had affected size from 3% or more had a lower number of CD16 + 56 than control group. ng>Conclusion:ng> The number of CD16 + 56 in zona patients were lower than that of healthy people.

Shape of the geometrically active atomic states of carbon

We have developed a computer code for {／em ab initio} the variational configuration interaction calculation of the electronic structure of atoms via variationally optimized Lagurre type orbitals, treating the orbital effective charges as variational parameters. Excited states of the same symmetry, in order to avoid the inherent restrictions of the standard method of Hylleraas--Unheim and MacDonald, are computed variationally by minimizing the recently developed minimization functionals for excited states. By computing, at the minimum, the one-electron density and the probability distribution of the two-electron angle, and the most probable two-electron angle, we investigate the atomic states of the carbon atom. We show that, without resorting to the （admittedly unproven） concept of hybridization, as an intrinsic property of the atomic wave function, the most probable value of the two-electron angle is around the known angles of carbon bonding, i.e. either 109^／circ or 120^／circ or 180^／circ, depending on each low-lying state of the bare carbon atom.
