Privacy-preserved learning from non-i.i.d data in fog-assisted IoT:A federated learning approach

With the prevalence of the Internet of Things(IoT)systems,smart cities comprise complex networks,including sensors,actuators,appliances,and cyber *** complexity and heterogeneity of smart cities have become vulnerable to sophisticated cyber-attacks,especially privacy-related attacks such as inference and data poisoning *** Learning(FL)has been regarded as a hopeful method to enable distributed learning with privacypreserved intelligence in IoT *** though the significance of developing privacy-preserving FL has drawn as a great research interest,the current research only concentrates on FL with independent identically distributed(i.i.d)data and few studies have addressed the non-i.i.d *** is known to be vulnerable to Generative Adversarial Network(GAN)attacks,where an adversary can presume to act as a contributor participating in the training process to acquire the private data of other *** paper proposes an innovative Privacy Protection-based Federated deep Learning(PP-FdL)framework,which accomplishes data protection against privacy-related GAN attacks,along with high classification rates from non-i.i.d ***-FdL is designed to enable fog nodes to cooperate to train the FdL model in a way that ensures contributors have no access to the data of each other,where class probabilities are protected utilizing a private identifier generated for each *** PP-FdL framework is evaluated for image classification using simple convolutional networks which are trained using MNIST and CIFAR-10 *** empirical results have revealed that PF-dFL can achieve data protection and the framework outperforms the other three state-of-the-art models with 3%–8%as accuracy improvements.

Solute transport and geochemical modeling of the coastal quaternary aquifer, delta dahab Basin, South Sinai, Egypt

The wadi dahab delta is in a dry, arid coastal zone within Egypt’s south Sinai Peninsula’s eastern portion. The primary water source is the Quaternary coastal alluvial aquifer. The groundwater salinity varies from 890to 8213 mg/L, with a mean value of 3417 mg/L. The dissolved major ions have been used to calculate the seawater mixing index(SWMI) using a linear equation that discriminates the groundwater mostly affected by water–rock interaction(SWMI 1>) and other samples mixed with Seawater(SWMI dwater for specifically chosen groundwater samples ranges from-0.645‰ to +5.212‰ for δ^(18)O and from-9.582‰ to + 22.778‰ for δ^(2)H, where the seawater represented by a Red Sea water sample(δ^(18)O + 1.64‰-δ^(2)H + 9.80‰) and reject brine water are considerably enriched the isotopic groundwater values. The geochemical NETPATH model constrained by the dissolved significant ions, isotopes, and the rock aquifer forming minerals as phases indicate the mixing percent with the seawater ranges from 9% to 97% of seawater from 91% to 3% of original recharge water. According to the SEAWAT 3-d flow models, seawater has penetrated the Northeastern dahab delta aquifer, with the intrusion zone extending1500 m inland. The salt dissolution, upwelling of saline water, recharge from the upstream mountain block, and seawater encroachment are the primary aspects contributing to the deterioration of groundwater quality. These findings may have significance for effective groundwater withdrawal management in arid locations worldwide with similar hydrogeological systems.

Introduction: Non-communicable diseases (NCds) are on the increase in several sectors of activity. The aim of the study was to determine the frequencies of cardiovascular risk factors (CVRF) and factors associated with hypertension among hotel workers in the city of Bohicon. Methods: This was a descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study conducted in the period from december 2018 to January 2019. The variables studied were sociodemographic, occupational, anthropometric and behavioral. Participant recruitment was exhaustive. A standardized questionnaire inspired by the STEPS-WHO questionnaire was used for data collection. After the descriptive analysis, a bivariate analysis was performed using Pearson’s Chi-square test or Fisher’s test at the 5% threshold. Results: A total of 101 workers, 53 (52.47%) of them male, participated in the study. The mean age was 30.60 ± 8.20 years, with extremes of 18 and 55 years. The frequencies of the main risk factors were: 68.32% sitting position > 6 hours/day;38.61% shift work;21.78% high psychological demand, 82.18% low decision latitude, 24.75% low social support, 21.78% occupational stress;7 (6.93%) harmful alcohol consumption;6.93% tobacco consumption;48.51% insufficient physical activity;98.02% insufficient fruit and vegetable consumption;59.41% overweight;14.85% HTA. Factors associated with hypertension were: sex, age and marital status. Conclusion: Occupational factors need to be taken into account when assessing CVRFs. NCd control programs are needed in all sectors of activity. A larger study is needed in the hotel sector.

Simulation of a molten salt fast reactor using the COMSOL Multiphysics software

In this study,COMSOL v5.2 Multiphysics software was utilized to perform coupled neutronics and thermal–hydraulics simulations of a molten salt fast reactor,and the SCALE v6.1 code package was utilized to generate the homogenized cross-section data *** library’s 238 cross-section groups were categorized into nine groups for the simulations in this *** results of the COMSOL model under no fuel flow conditions were verified using the SCALE v6.1 code results,and the results of the neutronics and thermal–hydraulics simulations were compared to the results of previously published *** results indicated that the COMSOL model that includes the cross-section library generated by the SCALE v6.1 code package is suitable for the steady-state analysis and design assessment of molten salt fast ***,this model was utilized to investigate the neutronics and thermal–hydraulics behaviors of the *** designs were simulated and analyzed in this model,and the results indicated that even if the wall of the core is curved,hot spots occur in the upper and lower portions of the core’s center near the reflectors.A new design was proposed that utilizes a flow rate distribution system,and the simulation results of this design showed that the maximum temperature in the core was approximately 1032 K and no hot spots occurred.

Numerical and Experimental Analysis of A ducted Propeller designed by A Fully Automated Optimization Process Under Open Water Condition

A fully automated optimization process is provided for the design of ducted propellers under open water conditions, including 3d geometry modeling, meshing, optimization algorithm and CFd analysis techniques. The developed process allows the direct integration of a RANSE solver in the design stage. A practical ducted propeller design case study is carried out for validation. Numerical simulations and open water tests are fulfilled and proved that the optimum ducted propeller improves hydrodynamic performance as predicted.

High-throughput computational screening for twodimensional magnetic materials based on experimental databases of three-dimensional compounds

We perform a computational screening for two-dimensional(2d)magnetic materials based on experimental bulk compounds present in the Inorganic Crystal Structure database and Crystallography Open database.A recently proposed geometric descriptor is used to extract materials that are exfoliable into 2d derivatives and we find 85 ferromagnetic and 61 antiferromagnetic materials for which we obtain magnetic exchange and anisotropy parameters using density functional *** the easy-axis ferromagnetic insulators we calculate the Curie temperature based on a fit to classical Monte Carlo simulations of anisotropic Heisenberg *** find good agreement with the experimentally reported Curie temperatures of known 2d ferromagnets and identify 10 potentially exfoliable 2d ferromagnets that have not been reported *** addition,we find 18 easy-axis antiferromagnetic insulators with several compounds exhibiting very strong exchange coupling and magnetic anisotropy.

Nowadays,tandem structures have become a valuable competitor to conventional silicon solar cells,especially for perovskite over silicon,as metal halides surpassed Si with tunable bandgaps,high absorption coefficient,low deposition,and preparation *** led to a remarkable enhancement in the overall efficiency of the whole cell and its ***,this expands the usage of photovoltaic technology in various fields of applications not only under conventional light source spectrum in outdoor areas,i.e.,AM1.5G,but also under artificial light sources found indoors with broadband intensity values,such as Internet of things(Io Ts)applications to name a *** introduce a numerical model to analyze perovskite/Si tandem cells(PSSTCs)using both crystalline silicon(c-Si)and hydrogenated amorphous silicon(a-Si:H)experimentally validated as base *** proposed layers have been studied with J-V characteristics and energy band diagrams under AM1.5G by using SCAPS-1d software version_(3).***,the proposed architectures were tested under various artificial lighting *** proposed structures of Li_(4)Ti_(5)O_(12)/CsPbCl_(3)/MAPbBr_(3)/CH_(3)NH_(3)PbI_(3)/Si recorded a maximum power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 25.25%for c-Si and 17.02%for a-Si:H,with nearly 7%enhancement concerning the Si bare cell in both cases.
