Introduction: Patient satisfaction is a quality-of-care measure and reveals patients’ appreciation of healthcare delivery. We sought to measure patient satisfaction following major gynaecological surgeries in 2 University Teaching Hospitals in Yaounde, Cameroon. methods: This study was a cross-sectional, prospective study over 9 months (October 1st, 2018, to June 30th, 2019) at the Yaounde Gynaeco-Obstetric and Paediatric Hospital (YGOPH) and the Yaounde Central Hospital (YCH). By administering a modified Surgical Satisfaction Questionnaire (SSQ-8) via phone call 6 months after surgery, we appreciated and scored key aspects linked to patient satisfaction and obtained information on post-operative complications. Data were analysed using microsoft Excel 18 and SPSS 21 setting significance at p Results: We recruited 72 patients aged 24 to 68 years. Our participants had a mean satisfaction score of 26 ± 7.854 (59.7% satisfied and 40.3% dissatisfied). All aspects tested on the SSQ-8 questionnaire influenced patient satisfaction. Patients who said they were satisfied with pain control after surgery (OR = 0.207 CI = 0.070 - 0.609, p = 0,003), and with surgical results in the SSQ-8 questionnaire (OR = 0.053, CI = 0.011 - 0.254, p mplications (OR = 7.922, CI = 2.241 - 28.004, p med a good post-operative current health status. Following multivariate analysis, satisfaction with the results of surgery (OR = 0.071, CI = 0.008 - 0.657, p = 0.020) and the occurrence of complications (OR = 7.284, CI = 1.146 - 46.273, p = 0.035) were the main determinants of patient satisfaction. AIm： To investigate the anti-inflammatory effect of an aqueous whole plant extract of Heliotropium indicum（HIE） on endotoxin-induced uveitis in New Zealand white rabbits.·mETHODS： Clinical signs of uveitis including flares,iris hyperemia and miosis, were sought for and scored in1.0 mg/kg lipopolysaccharide（LPS）-induced uveitic rabbits treated orally with HIE（30-300 mg/kg）,prednisolone（30 mg/kg）, or normal saline（10 m L/kg）. The number of polymorphonuclear neutrophils infiltrating, the protein concentration, as well as levels of tumor necrosis factor-α（TNF-α）, prostaglandin E2（PGE2）, and monocyte chemmoattrant protein-1（mCP-1） in the aqueous humor after the various treatments were also determined. A histopathological study of the anterior uveal was performed.· RESULTS： The extract and prednisolone-treatment significantly reduced（P ≤0.001） both the clinical scores of inflammation（1.0-1.8 compared to 4.40 ±0.40 in the normal saline-treated rabbits） and inflammatory cells infiltration. The level of protein, and the concentrationsof TNF-α, PGE2 and mCP-1 in the aqueous humor were also significantly reduced（P ≤0.001）. Histopathological studies showed normal uveal morphology in the HIE and prednisolone-treated rabbits while normal saline-treated rabbits showed marked infiltration of inflammatory cells.· CONCLUSION： The HIE exhibits anti-inflammatory effect on LPS-induced uveitis possibly by reducing the production of pro-inflammatory mediators.

研究一种用氯化钡(BaCl_(2)∙2H_(2)O)和磷酸钠(Na_(3)PO_(4))去除饱和溶液中(0.016 mol/L CaSO_(4))硫酸钙的化学方法。主要目的是通过沉淀出两种固体物质从溶液中去除这些离子:硫酸根(SO_(4)^(2−))沉淀为重晶石(BaSO_(4)),钙(Ca^(2+))沉淀为羟基磷灰石(Ca_(5)(PO_(4))_(3)OH)。此外,探索一种用油酸和十二烷基胺作捕集剂的固体/液体分离方法(即浮选)。结果表明,在60℃、pH 11.5下用3.9 g/L BaCl_(2)·2H_(2)O和1.6 g/L Na_(3)PO_(4)对饱和溶液进行化学处理,促进硫酸钡和缺钙羟基磷灰石(Ca_(10−x)(HPO_(4))_(x)(PO_(4))_(6−x)(OH)_(2−x))的沉淀,钙和硫酸根的残余浓度分别低于0.10和5 mg/L。当反应剂用量相同、在低于上述温度和pH值下处理时,残余钙浓度增加到28 mg/L。用油酸作捕集剂、pH 9.5时羟基磷灰石的浮选回收率最高,约为80%;而用十二烷基胺作捕集剂、pH 6.5时重晶石的浮选回收率约为90%。

在pH值0.5~2.5、温度25℃和时间12 h的条件下,研究碳酸盐岩型黄铜矿在H_(2)SO_(4)−Fe_(2)(SO_(4))_(3)−FeSO_(4)−H_(2)O体系中的溶解行为。实验所用的颗粒粒度为53~75μm。在所有pH条件下,Cu的回收率均低于15%。浸出渣的XRD、SEm−EDS和光学显微镜(Om)分析结果表明,溶解过程中形成了中间相。pH为0.5和1.0时的中间相分别是Cu_(3.39)Fe_(0.61)S_(4)和Cu_(2)S,而pH值为1.5和1.8时的主要矿物为Cu_(5)FeS_(4)。热力学模拟预测产物的生成顺序为CuFeS_(2)→Cu_(5)FeS_(4)→Cu_(2)S→CuS。Cu_(5)FeS_(4) and Cu_(2)S为可溶性中间相,而CuS和Cu_(3.39)Fe_(0.61)S_(4)是难溶中间相,在整个溶解过程中不断积累。所得结果表明,CuFeS_(2)浸出过程中CuS和Cu_(3.39)Fe_(0.61)S_(4)的生成有助于形成钝化膜。

The application of machine learning models to predict material properties is determined by the availability of high-quality *** present an expert-curated dataset of lithium ion conductors and associated lithium ion conductivities measured by *** *** dataset has 820 entries collected from 214 sources;entries contain a chemical composition,an expert-assigned structural label,and ionic conductivity at a specific temperature(from 5 to 873°C).There are 403 unique chemical compositions with an associated ionic conductivity near room temperature(15–35°C).The materials contained in this dataset are placed in the context of compounds reported in the Inorganic Crystal Structure Database with unsupervised machine learning and the Element movers *** dataset is used to train a CrabNet-based classifier to estimate whether a chemical composition has high or low ionic *** classifier is a practical tool to aid experimentalists in prioritizing candidates for further investigation as lithium ion conductors.

Data on rice harvest and postharvest loss in Sub-Sahara Africa(SSA)is scanty making it difficult for stakeholders to appreciate the loss and set priority areas for loss reduction along the value *** address this problem,a protocol was developed and validated for postharvest loss(PHL)quantification in *** losses at each segment were determined by field *** effect of origin of rice(domestic versus imported)and type of processing(white versus parboiled milled)on rice price in 33 markets in Africa was used to estimate qualitative loss for both white and parboiled milled *** PHL for rice in SSA in 2018 is estimated at about US$10.24 billion,representing 47.63%of the expected total *** highest loss recorded was quantitative loss before and during harvesting,followed by qualitative loss along the entire value chain,quantitative loss during milling,parboiling,threshing in that order,with the lowest being quantitative loss during *** areas to be targeted for PHL reduction in SSA and some loss mitigation tools and technologies piloted or suitable for SSA are proposed.
