Objective:To evaluate the antifeedant,oviposition deterrent,ovicidal and larvicidal activities of benzene,dichloromethane,diethylether,ethyl acetate and methanol extracts of Indian medicinal plant,Caesalpinia bonducella(***)at different concentrations against Lepidopteran agricultural field pest Helicoverpa armigera(Lepidoptera:Noctuidae).Methods:Antifeedant activities of the selected plant extract were studied using leaf disc no-choice method and oviposition deterrent,ovicidal and larvicidal activities were also assessed by adapting the standard ***:The antifeedant activity of *** showed significant antifeedant activity in methanol *** deterrency is higher in methanol extract than the other solvent ***,maximum egg mortality was observed in methanol leaf extract of *** Lethal concentration,LC_(50)value of benzene,diethylether,dichloromethane,ethyl acetate and methanol extract of *** were 470.02,469.00,465.47,460.52 and 443.87 mg/L *** Chi-square values are significant at P<0.05 *** five solventextracts,the methanol extract was responsible for strong lethal activity observed against selected pest ***:Results of this study show that the selected Indian medicinal plant *** could be a potent source of natural antifeedant,oviposition deterrent,ovicidal and larvicidal agent against the field pest Helicoverpa armigera.

Six different indigenous plants were screened for antifeedant and insecticidal activity against fourth instar larvae of Epilachna beetle, Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata, which is a severe pest on brinjal. Among the plants screened, Achyranthes aspera showed higher activity against the selected pest. Ethyl acetate extracts of A. aspera showed higher antifeedant index and insecticidal activity against fourth instar larvae of H. vigintioctopunctata. Preliminary phytochemical analysis revealed that the presence of alkaloid and quinines in the ethyl acetate extracts indicate higher percentage of activities. Hence, it may suggest its use for controlling the vegetables insect pest, H. vigintioctopunctata.

In this work a three-dimensional, time-quantified Monte Carlo model that efficiently describes diffusion through and from nanotubes is implemented. Controlled delivery from Halloysite Nano-tubes (HNT) is modeled based on interactions between the HNT’s inner wall and the nanoparticles (NPs) and among NPs themselves. The model was validated using published experimental data. The validated model is then used to study the effect of multiples parameter like HNT diameter and length, particle charge, and ambient temperature on the release of encapsulated NPs. The results show that release profiles depend on the size distribution of the HNT batch used for the experiment, as delivery is sensitive to HNT lumen and length. A very good agreement with the experiment is observed when a weighted average release profile is compared to the experimental profile. Although the NP dynamics is temperature-dependent, the effect is minimum within the range of temperatures relevant to biomedical applications, but will be relevant for other applications at temperatures significantly different from room temperature. This model can be used to predict the best conditions for a particular delivery need.

为探究兰州市浅层地下水水质演化过程,通过对兰州市浅层地下水所取的40组水样进行分析测试,运用描述性统计、相关性分析、Piper三线图、Gibbs模型、离子比例系数方法对该区地下水特征进行分析,并运用PHREEQC软件反向模拟地下水演化规律。结果表明:兰州市地下水pH平均值为7.59,地下水呈弱碱性,地下水TDS值相对较高,其平均值为2353.21 mg/L;SO^(2-)_(4)和Na^(+)分别是研究区地下水中优势阴、阳离子;SO_(4)·Cl-Na·Mg和SO_(4)·HCO_(3)-Na·Ca型为主要地下水化学类型。研究区地下水化学组分主要受蒸发-浓缩作用影响;在两路径模拟中,均为方解石发生溶解,Na^(+)和Ca^(2+)发生阳离子交替吸附作用,白云石、岩盐、石膏均发生沉淀。

Objective:To assess the efficacy of gabapentin in the treatment of low back pain ***:This prospective observational study was conducted over 6 months to assess the efficacy of gabapentin in patients suffering from low back *** medical history,pain severity by Visual Analogue scale(VAS)and sleep quality by Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PQSI)were *** scores and PQSI scores before and after gabapentin treatment were compared,and gabapentin satisfaction post treatment were ***:This study included 100 low back pain patients with 65 males and 35 females,and the mean age was(39.0±10.5)*** commonest presentation was non-radiating low back pain(40%).The mean VAS score and the mean PQSI score in the study before treatment were 7.70±1.91 and 10.95±5.02,*** treatment with gabapentin,the mean VAS score and the mean PQSI score decreased to 2.75±1.79 and 4.90±2.20,respectively,and the differences before and after the treatment were significantly different(both P=0.001).Overall,62%of the patients were extremely satisfied with gabapentin because they reported no adverse drug ***,31%of the patients were satisfied and 7%were strongly dissatisfied with the ***:Gabapentin can improve sleep quality and reduce lower back pain as measured by the VAS and *** efficacy of this drug is relatively good,but further improvement is required.
