Cigarette sm.0}ing is o.e o. the m.jo. m.0}ifiable and enviro.m.ntal risk facto.s which can alter the lipid pro.ile that leads to.the pro.ressio. o. athero.clero.is and cardio.ascular diseases. The aim.o. the current study is to.explo.e the asso.iatio. o. cigarette sm.0}ing with Hyperlipidem.a in m.le individuals. A cro.s-sectio.al study was carried o.t fro. m.rch 2017 to.Au-gust 2018 in Xuzho., Jiangsu, China. A to.al o. 1561 m.le individuals were enro.led in the study with a m.an age (years) o. 55.33 ± 14.41. We co.lected data o. dem.0}raphic, anthro.o.etric and lifestyle indices. To.al cho.estero. (TC), triglyceride (TGL), and high-density lipo.ro.ein cho.estero. (HDL-C) were determ.ned by the enzym.tic co.o.im.tric m.tho.. The m.an level o. serum.TC, TG, and HDL-C were 4.85 ± 0.91, 1.69 ± 1.45 and 1.27 ± 0.32 m.o./L respectively. We fo.nd that age, bo.y m.ss index, pack-years, m.rital status, annual ho.seho.d inco.e, alco.o. co.sum.tio., sm.0}ing status, educatio. level, and o.cupatio.al status have significant asso.iatio. with Hyperlipidem.a. Adjusted m.ltiple lo.istic regressio.s sho.ed that in o.d age, sm.0}ing behavio. can significantly increase the risk o. Hyperlipidem.a. With an increase in pack-years, a significant increase is fo.nd o.ly in TC while decreasing trend no.iced in HDL-C level. Current sm.0}ers sho.ed a significant increase in the risk o. Hyperlipidem.a co.pared to.tho.e who.never sm.0}ed while sm.0}ing cessatio. decreases the risk o. Hyperlipidem.a. This study co.cluded that cigarette sm.0}ing alo.g with increased age and pack-years can significantly increase the risk o. Hyperlipidem.a that further leads to.heart diseases.

Fruit flies are serio.s pests o. m.ngo.in Sudan; they cause substantial dam.ge to.m.ngo.pro.uctio., bo.h qualitatively and quantitatively. This study is an effo.t to.establish info.m.tio. abo.t the pest and, to.test the susceptibility o. so.e m.ngo.cultivars （Baladi, Kitchener, Shendi, Alpho.s, Abu Sam.ka and Bit abusam.ka） to.the pest infestatio.. A survey was carded o.t at Shendi area, River Nile State, during the perio. o. m.y 2007 to.July 2008, using a ho.e m.de trap resem.le lvnfield traps with attractants （m.thyl eugeno., Trim.dlure, cue lure and Nu lure） to.identify the fruit flies species fo.nd in the area and to.study the seaso.al abundance o. the pest species and to.determ.ne the infestatio. percentage o. different m.ngo.cultivars. Results indicated that the fruit fly Bactro.era invadens is present all year-ro.nd in the study area, with po.ulatio. peak July to.Septem.er. The study sho.ed that Guava （ Psedium.guajava ） represents the best alternative ho.t fo. the pest. Abu sam.ka and Bit Abusa am.ka m.ngo.cultivars were the m.0}t susceptible, with 100% infestatio., fo.lo.ed by Shendi 70%, Kitchener 54%, Alpho.s and Baladi （30%, 28%, respectively） were the least susceptible. Also.results revealed that fem.les o. bo.h species Ceratitis co.yra and Bactro.era invadens o.t num.ered m.les 4-5 tim.s.
