In this work,the impact of the doping process on the photoluminescence emission of CaWO_(4) as a function of the concentration of Eu^(3+) cation(0.01 mol%,0.02 mol%,0.04 mol%,0.06 mol%,0.08 mol%,and 0.10 mol%) is discussed in ***_(1-x)WO~4:xEu^(3+) samples were successfully synthesized by a simple coprecipitation method followed by microwave *** blue shift in the absorption edge confirms the quantum confinement effect and the band gap energy covers the range from 3.91 to 4.18 eV,as the amount of Eu^(3+) cations *** experimental results are sustained by first-principles calculations,at the density functional theory level,to decipher the geometry and electronic properties,thereby enabling a more accurate and direct comparison between theory and experiment for the Ca_(1-x)WO_(4):xEu^(3+) structure.

Mitochondrial DNA（mt DNA） variation has been implicated in many common complex diseases, but inconsistent and contradicting results are common. Here we introduce a novel mutational load hypothesis, which also considers the collective effect of mainly rare variants, utilising the Mut Pred *** apply this new methodology to investigate the possible role of mt DNA in two cardiovascular disease（CVD） phenotypes（hypertension and hyperglycaemia）, within a two-population cohort（n = 363; mean age 45 ± 9 yrs）. Very few studies have looked at African mt DNA variation in the context of complex disease, and none using complete sequence data in a well-phenotyped cohort. As such, our study will also extend our knowledge of African mt DNA variation, with complete sequences of Southern Africans being especially under-represented. The cohort showed prevalence rates for hypertension（58.6%） and prediabetes（44.8%）. We could not identify a statistically significant role for mt DNA variation in association with hypertension or hyperglycaemia in our cohort. However, we are of the opinion that the method described will find wide application in the field, being especially useful for cohorts from multiple locations or with a variety of mt DNA lineages, where the traditional haplogroup association method has been particularly likely to generate spurious results in the context of association with common complex disease.

Growth mechanism of octahedron-like BaMoO_4 microcrystals processed in microwave-hydrothermal:Experimental observations and computational modeling

Octahedron-like BaMoO4 microcrystals were synthesized by the co-precipitation method at room temperature and processed in microwave-hydrothermal at 413 K for different times （from 30 min to 5 h）. These microcrystals were analyzed by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, field-emission gun scanning electron microscopy （FEG-SEM） and transmission electron microscopy （TEM）. XRD patterns showed that this material presents a tetragonal structure without the presence of deleterious phases. FEG-SEM and TEM micrographs revealed that the BaMoO4 microcrystals present an octahedron-like morphology with agglomerate nature and polydisperse particle size distribution. These micrographs also indicated that the microcrystals grow along the [0 01 ] direction. The observed crystallographic planes in these structures were modeled computationally and a crystal growth model was proposed in order to explain the morphological changes as a function of processing time.

Mafic metavolcanic rocks and grey gneisses are the dominant components of many Archean terranes and preserve significant imprints and information of the crustal *** we present in situ zircon U-Pb geochronology,whole-rock geochemistry and Nd isotopes of the amphibolites and associated grey gneisses in the drill holes from the Jiaobei *** China *** LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb data show that the magmatic protoliths of two amphibolites and two grey gneisses crystallized at 2457-2503 Ma followed by the metamorphism at.8-1.9 *** rocks exhibit heterogeneous whole-rock Nd isotopic compositions,with the most radiogenic analyses(ε(t)=+3.8 to+6.9)plotting on or close to the depleted mantle evolution array and the most unradiogenicε(t)extending down *** data suggest that both.5 Ga depleted mantle and ancient continental crust at least as old as3.05 Ga contributed to the magma *** combination with previous zircon Hf isotopic data,it is suggested that the.5-2.6 Ga magmatic events in the entire Jiaobei terrane were mostly derived from the reworking of the pre-existing.7-2.8 Ga crustal ***,large variations in Hf-Nd isotopic compositions of abundant rocks at.5 Ga and.7-2.8 Ga in the Jiaobei terrane were likely to have resulted from interaction of mantle-derived juvenile magma with ancient crustal materials in the source ***,the peaks of zircon Hf crustal model ages from these rocks do not represent the actual time of crustal growth,but could be artifacts of interaction of magmas from different *** features show that the protoliths of the amphibolites are tholeiitic basalts and can be subdivided into two groups:high-Mg tholeiite basalts(GroupⅠ)and high-Fe tholeiite basalts(GroupⅡ).Trace element systematics indicate that the GroupⅠamphibolites show good affinity to subduction-related tholeiitic arc basalts,whereas the GroupⅡamphibolites represent back-arc lavas modified by subduction *** two groups

A simple way to prepare α- and β-CoMoO4 nanorods is reported in this paper. CoMoO4xH2O nanorod precursors were obtained using the microwave-assisted hydrothermal (MAH) method. By annealing the as-prepared CoMoO44xH2O precursor at 600℃ for 10 min in a domestic microwave oven, α- and β-CoMoO4 nanorods were prepared. These powders were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), Fourier transform Raman microscopy and ultraviolet visible absorption spectroscopy (UV-vis spectra) as well as photoluminescence (PL) measurements. Based on the results, these materials revealed nanorod morphology. PL spectra obtained at room temperature for α- and β-CoMoO4 particles exhibited maximum components around the blue light emission. The results show that the domestic microwave oven has been successfully employed to obtain α- and β-CoMoO4 nanoparticles.
