The strong societal demand to reduce pesticide use and adaptation to climate change challenges the capacities of phenotyping new varieties in the ***-throughput phenotyping is a way to obtain meaningful and reliable information on hundreds of genotypes in a limited *** evaluated traits related to growth in 209 genotypes from an interspecific grapevine biparental cross,between IJ119,a local genitor,and divona,both in summer and in winter,using several methods:fresh pruning wood weight,exposed leaf area calculated from digital images,leaf chlorophyll concentration,and LidAR-derived apparent *** high-density genetic information obtained by the genotyping by sequencing technology(GBS),we detected 6 regions of the grapevine genome[quantitative trait loci(QTL)]associated with the variations of the traits in the *** detection of statistically significant QTLs,as well as correlations(R^(2))with traditional methods above 0.46,shows that LidAR technology is effective in characterizing the growth features of the *** calculated with LidAR-derived total canopy and pruning wood volumes were high,above 0.66,and stable between growing *** variables provided genetic models explaining up to 47%of the phenotypic variance,which were better than models obtained with the exposed leaf area estimated from images and the destructive pruning weight *** results highlight the relevance of LidAR-derived traits for characterizing genetically induced differences in grapevine growth and open new perspectives for high-throughput phenotyping of grapevines in the vineyard.

Assessment and impact of anthropogenic disturbances in protected areas of northern Togo

These days, human activities in the savanna and the remaining dry and riparian forests of the Sudanian ecoregions continue to have their impact. These anthropogenic practices are still the main cause of disturbances in these areas. In order to investigate and assess the importance of these disturbances, caused by people bordering on protected areas and to determine the relation between these activities and the environment in which they are carried out, 220 samples were selected in the three main protected areas of northern Togo. The investigation was mainly qualitative, considering the floristic sampling of this drought area; any anthropogenic activities observed were recorded. A simple investigative questionnaire about the activities of rural people in the reserved areas was distributed to individuals encountered in the study area. Each sample in the investigation ended with a site description of its ecologi- cal characterization, i.e., soil features, topography, fauna footprints, dominant plant species and GPS position; we also took photo- graphs of the site. data processing was entirely based on descriptive statistics and a factor analysis. The results show that eight kinds of human activities, i.e., the use of pastures, tree cutting, bush fires, charcoal production, harvesting of plant material, fanning, honey harvesting and hunting, were noted to be serious disturbances to the integrity of the ecosystems. Among these disturbances, three are recurrent in all the sampled areas of which the use of pastures accounts for 31.88%, tree cutting for 30.35% and bush fires for 30.13%. Fire and pasture disturbances are closely linked and are responsible for the current features of the savanna area of the region. Tree cutting is more a direct function of the need for the production of wood fuel, generally used by city populations. Modeling of Heat Transfers in Bioreactive Household Waste Storage Facilities: Spatial and Temporal distributions

In order to enhance the production of biogas and to study the thermal behavior of waste, a numerical study of fluid flows and heat transfers within household waste was developed to predict the distributions of thermal fields. The mathematical model is based on the conservation of mass and energy equations. The resulting system of equations is discretized using the finite volume method and solved using the Thomas algorithm. The results of the model studied are compared with the numerical and site measurements results from other authors. The results have been found to be in good agreement. The results show that the mathematical model is able to reproduce the thermal behavior in anaerobic phase in landfills. The isotherms revealed that temperatures are lower in the upper part of the waste cell, very high in the core and decrease slightly in the bottom of the cell due to the biodegradation of waste.

甘薯(Ipomoea batatas L.)营养丰富,风味独特,是世界上重要的粮食作物。本论文旨在研究和比较三种切割方式(切丝、切片和切块)和四种烹调方法(油炸、煮沸、蒸煮和微波)对紫肉甘薯和黄肉甘薯在4 ℃贮藏6d期间品质和抗氧化活性的影响,主要结果如下:1.研究了不同切割方式对紫肉甘薯和黄肉甘薯在4℃贮藏6 d期间品质的影响。结果表明,切片和切块对两个品种甘薯的L*值、硬度、失重率和维生素C含量无显著影响(p>0.05),切丝会导致甘薯贮藏过程中失重率上升、硬度和维生素C含量下降。此外,随着切割强度的增大,两个品种甘薯的菌落总数(TABC)、丙二醛(MdA)含量和电导率逐渐增加,蔗糖、果糖和葡萄糖含量逐渐下降,黄肉甘薯的可溶性糖含量始终高于紫肉甘薯。由此说明,三种切割方式中切丝会导致两个品种的甘薯品质发生较大程度的下降。2.研究了不同切割方式对紫肉甘薯和黄肉甘薯在4℃贮藏6 d期间抗氧化活性的影响。结果表明,随着切割强度的增大,两个品种甘薯中活性氧(ROS)含量逐渐增加,多酚氧化酶(PPO)活性和超氧化物歧化酶(SOd)增强。切片和切块促进了两个品种甘薯中总酚、总黄酮和类胡萝卜素含量的上升和抗氧化能力的增强,其中以切片甘薯的抗氧化能力最高。切片处理还可以显著(p>0.05)提高两个品种甘薯中抗坏血酸过氧化物酶(APX)的活性以及黄肉甘薯中过氧化氢酶(CAT)的活性。由此说明,切块处理可以通过提高两个品种甘薯中总酚、类胡萝卜素等抗氧化物质的含量以及SOd、APX和CAT等抗氧化酶的活性增强甘薯的抗氧化能力。3.基于前期实验结果,在三种不同切割方式中选择切块的切割方式进一步研究不同烹调方法对鲜切紫肉甘薯和黄肉甘薯抗氧化能力和感官品质的影响。结果表明,在四种烹调方法中,煮沸使两个品种鲜切甘薯中总酚、类黄酮和类胡萝卜素含量增加最多,而油炸使鲜切甘薯中总酚、类黄酮和类胡萝卜素含量显著降低(p0.05)。煮沸、蒸煮和微波三种烹调方法提高了鲜切甘薯的dPPH自由基清除活性和铁还原抗氧化能力,而油炸降低了鲜切甘薯的抗氧化能力。此外,对于不同烹调方法的鲜切甘薯进行感官评定,结果表明油炸后的甘薯的风味和色泽评分最高,煮沸、蒸煮和微波烹调条件下的甘薯甜度评分最高,一般可接受性评分相同。以上结果表明,切块处理是保持紫肉甘薯和黄肉甘薯品质和提高其抗氧化能力的最佳切割方式,煮沸是提高鲜切甘薯抗氧化活性、保持鲜切甘薯甜度的最佳烹调方法。本研究结果为改善甘薯加工品的营养特性和开发功能性产品提供了科学依据。

Influence of Leachate Recirculation on Landfill degradation and Biogas Production

Population growth combined with the rising standard of living of people around the world is the reason for the ever-increasing production of waste which management is costing states a lot of money for its disposal. Among available waste treatment techniques, landfill is one of the most promoted waste management techniques with the emergence of the bioreactor concept. However, the control of biodegradation parameters in order to accelerate waste stabilization is an important issue. For environmental and economic reasons, the technique of leachate recirculation by injection into the waste is increasingly used to improve the degradation of landfilled waste. The injection of leachate is possible using vertical boreholes, horizontal pipes, infiltration ponds or a combination of these. Indeed, moisture is the main factor in waste degradation and biogas production. The migration of leachate to the bottom of the landfill creates low moisture in the upper areas of the landfill reducing the growth of microbial populations. This results in low or no biogas production. The main objective of the present work is to develop a numerical model of leachate recirculation by injection into the waste to rewet the waste and restart biological activity. The analysis of the results shows that the diffusion of the wet front increases with time and depth. The lateral widening of the wet front is slow in relation to the progression of the wet front towards the bottom of the waste cell. This indicates the predominance of gravity effects over diffusion phenomena. The results reveal that the distributed re-injection is the best mode of leachate recirculation because the moisture distribution on the whole waste mass is totally satisfactory and the biogas generation is more important. Leachate recirculation campaigns should be done periodically to rewet the waste, boost microbial activity and hope for a quicker stabilization of the landfill.

Introduction: Obesity and pregnancy is a major public health problem worldwide, both maternal and fetal. Objective: This is to describe the epidemiological and prognostic aspects of obesity and pregnancy in the gynecology-obstetrics department at the Sylvanus Olympio University Hospital Center (CHU SO) in Lomé. Methodology: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study concerning obesed pregnant women. The survey was conducted from the 1st to the 30th of June 2022 at the CHU SO. Results: We enrolled 55 obese pregnant women. The frequency of obesity and pregnancy was 5.14%. Resellers were represented at 41.8%. The average age was 31 years old. As risk factors, 85.5% claimed to have a fatty diet and 76% did not practice sports. The gestational pathologies found during pregnancy were hypertension in 47.4% of cases, preeclampsia in 24.6% and gestational diabetes in 7%. Caesarean section was the way of delivery in 63.6% of cases and those who gave birth vaginally presented a tear of the soft tissues in 85% of cases. Birth weight was abnormal (low weight and excess weight) in 61.8% of cases. Conclusion: The association between obesity and pregnancy constitutes an important risk factor for the mother and the fetus.

Achatina togoensis is a giant land snail taxa endemic to the northern sectors of the Monts Togo, which has been regarded as full species or subspecies of the highly variable, widespread A. achatina (L.). To address this issue, samples of snails were taken throughout the distribution range of the two taxa in the Dahomey Gap (West Africa) and separated into 112 A. achatina and 141 A. togoensis according to color of the columella and parietal wall. Maternal deaths after Obstetrical Referral and/or Evacuation to the Obstetrics Gynecology Clinic of the Sylvanus Olympio University Hospital Center, Togo

Introduction: Maternal death or maternal mortality is “the death of a woman occurring during pregnancy or within 42 days of termination, regardless of duration or location, for any specific cause or aggravated by pregnancy or its management, but neither accidental nor fortuitous. Methods: This was a descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study carried out from January 1st, 2021 to April 30th, 2022 at the Obstetrics Gynecology Clinic of the Sylvanus Olympio University Hospital Center (SOUHC). Results: we noted 86 cases of maternal deaths after referral/evacuation i.e. a maternal mortality rate hospital of 555 maternal deaths per 100,000 LB. The average age of the patients was 31.1 ± 6.3 years with extremes of 15 and 45 years. In 33.7% of cases our patients were resellers. Multiparas represented 33.7% of the sample, they had performed less than three antenatal consultations. Postpartum hemorrhage was the reference reason in 33.7%. In 74.4% of cases, the patients referred had arrived by taxi. In 87.9% of cases, the patients had died of direct obstetric causes. Immediate postpartum hemorrhage accounted for 44.6% of cases and anemia, 36.4%. There is a statistically significant association between the availability of blood product and the avoidability of maternal death after obstetrical referral and/or evacuation (p value = 0.0188 0.05). Conclusion: determining responsibility for maternal death is not always easy. There is an urgent need to strengthen the policy of reducing maternal mortality in Togo. This remains possible by developing communication strategies and a solid referral/counter-referral system.

Experimental Study of the Physical and Mechanical Behaviour of Mortar Formulations with Fine Sands of Recycled Glass

This work is part of an experimental contribution approach to the study of the incorporation of glass sand from the grinding of recycled glass waste in cement mortars and its influence on the physical and mechanical behavior of semi-rich mortars without adjuvants. For this purpose, after a physical characterization of the sands, eight (08) formulations of mortars based on cement CEM II B/L 32.5R and fine sands (0/2) of glass at mass contents of 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 75% and 100% of the silty sand (0/2) were made respectively to three (03) types of fine glass sand (white, brown, green) with water dosages on cement (W/C) of 0.50, 0.45, 0.40. The results obtained show that the fine sands of recycled glass have a higher water absorption than the silty sand and the physical properties of the mortars prepared are affected by the increase in the glass content. The mechanical performances are obtained for the ratio W/C = 0.50 and the formulation of glass mortars for an optimal compressive strength superior to glass-free mortar requires a substitution of 10% for fine white glass sand, 20% for sand fine green glass and 75% for fine brown glass sand. The comparative study between these different compositions of fine glass sand mortars shows that the mechanical performances of fine brown glass sand are better than other glass sands but generally remain inferior to the control mortar based on natural silty sand.

Renal Risk among diabetic Patients in Togo

Background: diabetic patients have risk of kidney disease. The aim of this study was to assess the level of renal risk in our study population and to identify the associated predictive factors. Methods: It was a descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study carried out over 5 years (January 1, 2016 to december 31, 2020). All patients were included regardless of the duration of diabetes and having achieved at least one serum creatinine and at least two (2) proteinuria in the 24 hours over a period of at least three months. The level of renal risk was assessed using the KdIGO 2012 classification. Results: A total of 320 patient medical files were retained. The sex ratio M/F was 1.2. The average age was 57.2 ± 11.8 years. Hypertension was the most common comorbidity (84.4%). diabetic nephropathy was found in 177 patients, a frequency of 42.8%. The very significant renal risk was found in 174 patients (54.4%). In multivariate logistic regression, the risk factors significantly associated with renal risk were: Male sex (OR = 2.50;95% CI = 1.29 - 4.84, p-value = 0.006);microangiopathy (OR = 5.54;95% CI = 1.82 - 16.85 p = 0.002) and beta-blockers (OR = 5.64;95% CI = 1.04 - 30.53 p = 0.004). The Oral Antidiabetes (OR = 0.23;95% CI = 0.10 - 0.55, p = 0.001), the blockers of Renin-Angiotensin system (OR = 0.58;95% CI = 0.41 - 0.90, p = 0.040) and the average socioeconomic level (OR = 0.50;95% CI = 0.25 - 0.98, p = 0.044) were rather the protective factors.
