Design and selection of advanced protection schemes have become essential for reliable and secure operation of networked *** protection schemes that allow correct operation of microgrids have been proposed for individual systems in different topologies and ***,protection schemes for networked microgrids are still in devel-opment,and further research is required to design and operate advanced protection in interconnected *** of these microgrids in different nodes with various intercon-nection technologies increases fault occurrence and complicates protection *** paper aims to point out challenges in developing protection for networked microgrids,potential solutions,and research areas that need to be addressed for their ***,this article presents a systematic analysis of different microgrid clusters proposed since 2016,including several architectures of networked microgrids,operation modes,components,and utilization of renewable sources,which have not been widely explored in previous review ***,the paper presents a discussion on protection systems currently available for microgrid clusters,current challenges,and solutions that have been proposed for these ***,it discusses the trend of protection schemes in networked microgrids and presents some conclusions related to ***—Adaptive eprotection,microgrid cluster,microgrid,multiple microgrid,networked microgrid,real-time simulation,smart grid.

Dynamic Equivalent Modeling for Black-box Microgrids Under Multi-operating-point by Using LSTM

Since the high penetration of distributed energy sources complicates the dynamics of electrical power systems,accurate dynamic models are indispensable for study on the transient behavior of the microgrid(MG).In some practices,the lack of full detailed information results in failure of dif-ferential equation based dynamic modeling,which leads to a demand for a black-box MG modeling *** is a critical challenge to maintain the effectiveness of the black-box model under a wide operating range and various fault *** this paper,inspired by the mathematical equivalence between the recurrent neural network(RNN)and differential-algebraic equations(DAEs),a dynamic equivalent modeling method,using long short-term memory(LSTM),is presented to tackle this *** first,the modeling equivalence and advantages of our basic idea are ***,modeling procedures,including data preparation and design guidelines,are ***,the proposed method is applied to a multi-microgrid testing system for performance *** results,under various scenarios,reveal that the proposed modeling method has an adequate capability for representing the dynamic behaviors of a black-box MG under grid fault and operating point changing *** Terms-Deep learning,dynamic behavior,dynamic equivalent model,microgrid,neural network.

Background Proteome characterization of the porcine endometrium and extraembryonic membranes is important to understand mother-embryo *** this study,the proteome of the endometrium and cho-rioallantoic membrane was characterized in pregnant sows(PS)during early gestation(d 18 and 24 of gestation)and in the endometrium of non-pregnant sows(NPS)during the same days using Lc-MS/MS *** UniProtKB database and clueGO were used to obtain functional Gene Ontology annotations and biological and functional networks,*** Our analysis yielded 3,254 and 3,457 proteins identified in the endometrium of PS and NPS,respectively;of these,1,753 being common while 1,501 and 1,704 were exclusive to PS and NPS,*** addition,we iden-tified 3,968 proteins in the extraembryonic membranes of *** analyses of function revealed some proteins had relevance for the immune system process and biological adhesion in endometrium while the embryonic chorion displayed abundance of proteins related to cell adhesion and cytoskeletal organization,suggesting they dominated the moment of endometrial remodeling,implantation and adhesion of the lining *** are available via Pro-teomeXchange with identifier *** This is the first in-depth proteomic characterization of the endometrium and extraembryonic mem-branes during weeks 3 to 4 of gestation;data that contribute to the molecular understanding of the dynamic environ-ment during this critical period,associated with the majority of pregnancy losses.

Plants require a number of essential elements in different proportions for ensuring their growth and *** elemental concentrations in leaves reflect the functions and adaptations of plants under specific environmental ***,less is known about how the spectrum of leaf elements associated with resource acquisition,photosynthesis and growth regulates forest biomass along broad elevational *** examined the influence of leaf element distribution and diversity on forest biomass by analyzing ten elements(c,N,P,K,ca,Mg,Zn,Fe,cu,and Mn)in tree communities situated every 100 meters along an extensive elevation gradient,ranging from the tropical forest(80 meters above sea level)to the alpine treeline(4200 meters above sea level)in the Kangchenjunga Landscape in eastern Nepal *** calculated communityweighted averages(reflecting dominant traits governing biomass,i.e.,mass-ratio effect)and functional divergence(reflecting increased trait variety,i.e.,complementarity effect)for leaf elements in a total of 1,859 trees representing 116 *** increasing mass-ratio effect and decreasing complementarity in leaf elements enhance forest biomass accumulation.A combination of elements together with elevation explains biomass(52.2%of the variance)better than individual elemental trait diversity(0.05%to 21%of the variance).Elevation modulates trait diversity among plant species in biomass *** promotes biomass at lower elevations,but reduces biomass at higher elevations,demonstrating an interaction between elevation and *** interaction between elevation and mass-ratio effect produces heterogeneous effects on biomass along the elevation *** research indicates that biomass accumulation can be disproportionately affected by elevation due to interactions among trait diversities across vegetation *** higher trait variation enhances the adaptation of species to environmental changes,it reduces

Our knowledge on permafrost carbon(c)cycle is crucial for understanding its feedback to climate warming and developing nature-based solutions for mitigating climate *** understand the characteristics of permafrost c cycle on the Tibetan Plateau,the largest alpine permafrost region around the world,we summarized recent advances including the stocks and fluxes of permafrost c and their responses to thawing,and depicted permafrost c dynamics within this *** find that this alpine permafrost region stores approximately 14.1 Pg(1 Pg=1015g)of soil organic c(SOc)in the top 3 *** substantial gaseous emissions and lateral c transport occur across this permafrost ***,the mobilization of frozen c is expedited by permafrost thaw,especially by the formation of thermokarst landscapes,which could release significant amounts of c into the atmosphere and surrounding water *** alpine permafrost region nevertheless remains an important c sink,and its capacity to sequester c will continue to increase by *** future perspectives,we would suggest developing long-term in situ observation networks of c stocks and fluxes with improved temporal and spatial coverage,and exploring the mechanisms underlying the response of ecosystem c cycle to permafrost *** addition,it is essential to improve the projection of permafrost c dynamics through in-depth model-data fusion on the Tibetan Plateau.

We calculate numerically the optical chiral forces in rectangular cross-section dielectric waveguides for potential enantiomer *** study considers force strength and time needed for separating chiral nanoparticles,mainly via quasi-TE guided modes at short wavelengths(405 nm)and the 90°-phase-shifted combination of quasi-TE and quasi-TM modes at longer wavelengths(1310 nm).Particle tracking simulations show successful enantiomer separation within two *** results suggest the feasibility of enantiomeric separation of nanoparticles displaying sufficient chirality using simple silicon photonic integrated circuits,with wavelength selection based on the nanoparticle size.

Preimplantation genetic testing for embryos predisposed to hereditary cancer:Possibilities and challenges

Preimplantation genetic testing(PGT),which was developed as an alternative to prenatal genetic testing,allows couples to avoid pregnancies with abnormal chromosomes and the subsequent termination of the affected *** used for early onset monogenic conditions,PGT is now used to prevent various types of inherited cancer conditions based on the development of PGT technology,assisted reproductive techniques(ARTs),and in vitro fertilization(IVF).This review provides insights into the potential benefits and challenges associated with the application of PGT for hereditary cancer and provides an overview of the existing literature on this test,with a particular focus on the current challenges related to laws,ethics,counseling,and ***,this review predicts the future potential applications of this *** PGT may be utilized to predict and prevent hereditary cancer,each case should be comprehensively *** motives of couples must be assessed to prevent the misuse of this technique for eugenic purposes,and non-pathogenic phenotypes must be carefully *** cases that require this technology should also be carefully considered based on legal and ethical *** may be the preferred treatment for hereditary cancer cases;however,such cases require careful case-by-case ***,this study concludes that multidisciplinary counseling and support for patients and their families are essential to ensure that PGT is a viable option that meets all legal and ethical concerns.
