However, experimenta. limita.ions often preclude the a.quisition of high-resolution structura. a.d mecha.istic informa.ion for a.grega.ing systems. Computa.iona. methods, pa.ticula.ly those combine both a.-a.om a.d coa.se-gra.ned simula.ions to cover a.wide ra.ge of time a.d length sca.es, ha.e thus emerged a. crucia. tools for investiga.ing protein a.grega.ion. Here we review the current sta.e of computa.iona. methodology for the study of protein self-a.sembly, with a.focus on the a.plica.ion of these methods towa.d understa.ding of protein a.grega.es in huma. neurodegenera.ive disorders.
