Crystallographic and microstructural properties of.Ho(Ni,Co,Mn)O3±dperovskite-type multif.rroic material are *** were synthesized with a modif.ed polymeric precursor *** synchrotron X-ray powder dif.raction(SXRPD)technique associated to Rietveld ref.nement method was used to perf.rm structural *** crystallographic structures,as well as microstructural properties,were studied to determine unit cell parameters and volume,angles and atomic positions,crystallite size and strain.X-ray energies below the absorption edges of.the transition metals helped to determine the mean pref.rred atomic occupancy f.r the substituent ***,analyzing the degree of.distortion of.the polyhedra centered at the transitions metal atoms led to understanding the structural model of.the synthesized phase.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)was perf.rmed to evaluate the valence states of.the elements,and the tolerance f.ctor and oxygen *** obtained results indicated a small decrease distortion in structure,close to the HoMnO3 basis *** addition,the substituent atoms showed the same distribution and,on average,pref.rentially occupied the center of.the unit cell.

AIM To evaluate the relation between 12 polymorphisms and the development of.gastric cancer(GC) and colorectal cancer(CRC).METHODS In this study,we included 125 individuals with GC diagnosis,66 individuals with CRC diagnosis and 475 cancer-f.ee individuals. All participants resided in the North region of.Brazil and authorized the use of.their samples. The 12 polymorphisms(in CASP8,CYP2 E1,CYP19 A1,IL1 A,IL4,MDM2,Nf.B1,PAR1,TP53,TYMS,UGT1 A1 and XRCC1 genes) were genotyped in a single PCR f.r each individual,f.llowed by f.agment analysis. To avoid misinterpretation due to population substructure,we applied a previously developed set of.61 ancestryinf.rmative markers that can also be genotyped by multiplex PCR. The statistical analyses were perf.rmed in Structure v.2.3.4,R environment and SPSS *** Af.er statistical analyses with the control of.conf.unding f.ctors,such as genetic ancestry,three markers(rs79071878 in IL4,rs3730485 in MDM2 and rs28362491 in Nf.B1) were positively associated with the development of.GC. One of.these markers(rs28362491) and the marker in the UGT1 A1 gene(rs8175347) were positively associated with the development of.CRC. Theref.re,we investigated whether the joint presence of.the deleterious alleles of.each marker could af.ect the development of.cancer and we obtained positive results in all analyses. Carriers of.the combination of.alleles RP1 + DEL(rs79071878 and rs28361491,respectively) are at 10-times greater risk of.developing GC than carriers of.other combinations. Similarly,carriers of.the combination of.DEL + RARE(rs283628 and rs8175347) are at about 12-times greater risk of.developing CRC than carriers of.other *** These f.ndings are important f.r the comprehension of.gastric and CRC development,particularly in highly admixed populations,such as the Brazilian population.

Recently, many programs have been developed f.r simulation or analysis of.the dif.erent parameters of.light propagation in optical f.bers, either f.r sensing or f.r communication purposes. In this paper, it is shown the COMSOL Multiphysics as a f.irly robust and simple program, due to the existence of.a graphical environment, to perf.rm simulations with good accuracy. Results are compared with other simulation analysis, f.cusing on the surf.ce plasmon resonance （SPR） phenomena f.r ref.active index sensing in a D-type optical f.ber, where the characteristics of.the material layers, in terms of.the type and thickness, and the residual f.ber cladding thickness are optimized.

The brown mussel Perna perna(Linnaeus,1758)is a valuable resource f.r aquaculture in tropical and subtropical coastal *** presents desirable characteristics f.r biomonitoring,including being sessile,widely distributed and abundant,and is a f.lter-f.eder able to accumulate several classes of.pollutants(e.g.,metals,hydrocarbons,among others).Mussels’biological responses to pollution exposure can be measured as biomarkers,which include alterations ranging f.om molecular to physiological levels,to estimate the degree of.environmental contamination and its ef.ects on *** f.ll review compiles two decades(2000–2020)of.literature concerning biological ef.ects on *** mussel caused by environmental pollutants(i.e.,metals,hydrocarbons,and emerging pollutants),considering environmental and f.rm-based *** markers related to mussels’oxidative status were ef.icient f.r the biomonitoring of.metals(i.e.,antioxidant enzymes associated with oxidative damage in biomolecules).Genotoxicity and cytotoxicity indicators(i.e.,comet,micronucleus,and neutral red assays)provided a depiction of.hydrocarbon *** neutral red assay gave a time-concentration cytotoxic response to a wide range of.pollutants,including emerging pollutants(e.g.,pharmaceuticals and biocides)and *** perna hemocyte parameters provided a usef.l approach f.r biocide *** paper summarizes usef.l biomarkers f.om molecular to physiological levels in this mussel species used to identif. and quantif. the degree of.coastal *** integrated biomarker analysis may provide a way to overcome possible biomarker variations and assess multi-polluted ***,it is necessary to investigate biomarker variations according to natural f.ctors(e.g.,season and gonad maturation stage)to standardize them f.r trustworthy biomonitoring.

Degenerative musculoskeletal disorders are one of.the top causes of.pain and disability in the adult *** available alternatives to mitigate symptoms include conservative treatments such as the administration of.pharmacological agents and an educative approach towards lif.style *** use of.certain analgesics,such as opiates and corticosteroids,delivers short term results but do not address the etiological source of.pain and ***,prolonged use of.such medications may cause additional ***,the demand f.r musculoskeletal tissue regeneration has led to an alternative approach ref.rred to as“orthobiologics”.This alternative is based on cellular and molecular components capable of.inducing and promoting tissue *** marrow(BM)aspirate(BMA)and concentrate are well-known orthobiologics used to treat musculoskeletal *** derived f.om the BM have been discussed in the literature;however,the lack of.standardization regarding collection and processing protocols presents a challenge f.r generalization of.study outcomes and determination of.*** BM-derived orthobiologics have not yet been classif.ed,to our knowledge,this manuscript proposes the ACH classif.cation system,which speaks to BMA(A),BMA and concentrate(C)and hybrid(H),which combines A and *** classif.cation proposes and describes 8 parameters that are relevant f.r the quality of.biological *** more parameters used would imply greater characterization and complexity of.the evaluation of.the biological product *** ACH classif.cation envisages a necessary contribution to the comprehension of.both clinical procedures and research outcomes,ultimately ushering in a standardization of.best practice.
