Lack of.Relationship between Testicular Echotexture and Seminal Characteristics in Adult Texel Rams

The objective of.this study was to determine the minimum representative area to evaluate testicular echotexture parenchyma and to identif. the correlations between the intensity of.pixels of.the testicular parenchyma and the f.brosis score with the physical and morphological characteristics of.the ejaculate of.Texel rams. The study used 88 Texel rams, aged between 10 and 12 months, and reared in a semi-extensive system. The animals underwent breeding soundness evaluation (BSE) and ultrasound of.the testicles. The images were transf.rred to a computer where they were def.ned in areas of.400, 1600, 3600, and 6400 mm2, af.er which the average intensity of.the pixels of.each image of.the testicular regions was evaluated. A testicular f.brosis score was assigned in order to quantif. the f.equency of.f.brotic lesions. In relation to the intensity of.pixels of.the predetermined regions, only the area of.400 mm2 presented a dif.erence (P mm2 being the smallest area that best represented the testicular parenchyma. There were no correlations between the intensity of.pixels of.the testicular parenchyma and the f.brosis score with the physical and morphological characteristics of.the ejaculate of.the rams.

The aim of.this study was to characterize the testicular isof.rm of.angio-tensin-converting enzyme (tACE) bef.re and af.er semen cryopreservation, and in the acrosome reaction of.sperm f.om Nelore bulls in vitro. Ejaculates of.10 sexually mature Nelore bulls were used. Af.er semen was collected, 1.0 mL of.the ejaculate was used f.r the analysis and the rest was subjected to cryopreservation. f.esh semen bef.re f.eezing, and f.ozen/thawed semen were centrif.ged twice and the pellet was resuspended intyrode’s albumin lactate pyruvate (TALP). Thereaf.er, 100 μL aliquots containing 100 × 106 spermatozoa were prepared. Aliquots of.samples were used f.r western blot analysis, subjected to capacitation, and thereaf.er, acrosome reaction assays were perf.rmed in vitro. With the help of.an anti-ACE monoclonal antibody, a 100 kDa protein band was identif.ed in the spermatozoa of.Nelore bulls. Cryopreservation reduced the intensity of.the protein bands obtained by western blot assay to less than half.of.that observed prior to f.eezing (P P f.ACE in these processes. It is concluded that tACE can be f.und in the spermatozoa of.Nelore bulls, and cryopreservation process decreases the intensity of.bands of.this enzyme;and that the inactivation of.tACE reduces the capacity of.spermatozoa to undergo the acrosome reaction.

f.iction stir welding （f.W） and stationary shoulder f.iction stir welding （SSf.W） were carried out f.r the butt joining of.dissimilar AA2024-T3 and AA7050-T7651 aluminium alloys with thicknesses of.2 mm. A comparison between the two processes was perf.rmed by varying the welding speed while keeping the rotational speed constant, Through the analysis of.the f.rce and torque produced during welding and a simple analytical model, it was possible to show that in SSf.W there is more ef.ective coupling with the tool and the heat produced is more ef.iciently distributed. This process decreases both the welding area and the dif.usion at the interf.ce of.the two alloys compared with f.W. The minimum microhardness occurred at the advancing side （AS） at the interf.ce between the thermo-mechanically af.ected zone （TMAZ） and the stir zone （SZ） in both processes, although the decrease was more gradual in SSf.W. This interf.ce is also where all specimens f.iled f.r both welding technologies. An increase in tensile strength was measured in SSf.W compared with standard f.W. f.rthermore, it was possible to establish the mechanical perf.rmance of.the material in the f.acture zone using digital image correlation.

Prebiotics are substances that can promote the growth of.benef.cial microorganisms, mainly in the intestinal tract, and will modif. the colonic microbiota. The f.llowing health benef.ts are attributed to prebiotics: relief.f.om poor digestion of.lactose, increased resistance to bacterial inf.ction, better immune response and possible protection against cancer, reduction of.the risk of.diseases such as intestinal disease, cardiovascular disease, non-insulin dependent diabetes, obesity and osteoporosis. This article presents a discussion of.prebiotics, with descriptions of.the concepts and its use in clinical practice, and a review of.some recent research showing the benef.ts that these ingredients provide to human health and providing data on the recommended intakes f.r consumption.

The development of.biotechnology-based active pharmaceutical ingredients, such as GLP-1 analogs, brought changes in type 2 diabetes treatment options. f.r better therapeutic ef.iciency, these active pharmaceutical ingredients require appropriate administration, without the development of.adverse ef.ects or toxicity. Theref.re, it is required to develop several quantif.cation methods f.r GLP-1 analogs products, in order to achieve the therapeutic goals, among which ELISA and HPLC arise. These methods are developed, optimized and validated in order to determine GLP-1 analogs, not only in f.nal f.rmulation of.the active pharmaceutical ingredient, but also during preclinical and clinical trials assessment. This review highlights the role of.ELISA and HPLC methods that have been used during the assessment f.r GLP-1 analogs, especially f.r exenatide.

A novel dual-rotation bobbin tool f.iction stir welding （DBT-f.W） was developed, in which the upper shoulder （US） and lower shoulder （LS） have dif.erent rotational speeds. This process was tried to weld 3.2 mm thick alunlinum-lithium alloy sheets. The metallographic analysis and torque measurement were carried out to characterize the weld f.rmabiliW. Experimental results show that compared to conven- tional bobbin tool f.iction stir welding, the DBT-f.W has an excellent process stability, and can produce the def.ct-f.ee joints in a wider range of.welding parameters. These can be attributed to the signif.cant improvement of.material f.ow caused by the f.rmation of.a staggered layer structure and the unbalanced f.rce between the US and LS during the DBT-f.W process.

This study f.cuses on the bonding interf.ce characteristics and mechanical properties of.the bobbin tool f.iction stir welded dissimilar AA6056 and AA2219 aluminum alloy joints using dif. erent welding *** arise solely in the stir zone at the AA2219 side.A distinct boundary with limited material mixing develops at the middle section of.the bonding interf.ce,while excellent material mixing with an irregularly jagged pattern f.rms at the top and bottom sections of.the bonding *** the welding speed,the material mixing is rarely changed at the middle section in comparison with the bottom ***,a small dif. erence between Guinier–Preston dissolution and Q phase precipitation leads to rare change of.hardness in the heat af. ected zone(HAZ)at the AA6056 *** increased hardness of.the HAZ at the AA2219 side is attributed to avoidance of.the dissolution of.’’phase precipitates.A maximum tensile strength of.181 MPa is obtained at 300 mm *** occur at the AA6056 side near the top and bottom surf.ces and at the bonding interf.ce in the middle section of.the *** regions close to the top and bottom surf.ces of.the joints show a better ductility.
