This paper aims to develop Machine Learning algorithms to classify electronic articles related to this phenomenon by retrieving information and topic *** Methodology of this study is categorized into three phases:the Text classiﬁcation Approach(TcA),the Proposed Algorithms Interpretation(PAI),andﬁnally,Information Retrieval Approach(IRA).The TcA reﬂects the text preprocessing pipeline called a clean *** Global Vec-tors for Word Representation(Glove)pre-trained model,FastText,Term Frequency-Inverse Document Fre-quency(TF-IDF),and Bag-of-Words(BOW)for extracting the features have been interpreted in this *** PAI manifests the Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory(Bi-LSTM)and convolutional Neural Network(cNN)to classify the cOVID-19 ***,the IRA explains the mathematical interpretation of Latent Dirich-let Allocation(LDA),obtained for modelling the topic of Information Retrieval(IR).In this study,99%accuracy was obtained by performing K-fold cross-validation on Bi-LSTM with Glove.A comparative analysis between Deep Learning and Machine Learning based on feature extraction and computational complexity exploration has been performed in this ***,some text analyses and the most inﬂuential aspects of each document have been explored in this *** have utilized Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Trans-formers(BERT)as a Deep Learning mechanism in our model training,but the result has not been uncovered ***,the proposed system can be adjustable in the real-time news classiﬁcation of cOVID-19.

Octreotide induces caspase activation and apoptosis in human hepatoma HepG2 cells

AIM: To investigate the role of octreotide on cellular proliferation and apoptosis of human hepatoma (HepG2) cells. METHODS: We studied cellular proliferation, apoptosis and the possible internal caspase-mediated apoptosis pathway involved, after treatment of HepG2 carcinoma cells with octreotide in comparison with the apoptosis caused by tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α). Activities of caspase-3, caspase-9, caspase-8 and caspase-2 were studied, while apoptosis was investigated through detection of DNA fragmentation and through identification of apoptotic cells with the annexin-V/propidium iodide flow cytometric method. RESULTS: After an initial increase in HepG2 cellular proliferation, a significant inhibition was observed with 10-8 mol/L octreotide, while TNF-α dose-dependently decreased proliferation. Early and late apoptosis was significantly increased with both substances. Octreotide significantly increased caspase-3, caspase-8 and caspase-2 activity. TNF-α signifi cantly increased only caspase-2. cellular proliferation was decreased after treatment with octreotide or TNF-α alone but, in contrast to TNF-α, octreotide decreased proliferation only at concentrations of 10-8 mol/L, while lower concentrations increased proliferation. cONcLUSION: Our findings are suggestive of caspasemediated signaling pathways of octreotide antitumor activity in HepG2 cells, and indicate that measurements of serum octreotide levels may be important, at least in clinical trials, to verify optimal therapeutic drug concentrations.

Template-Based Gait Authentication Through Bayesian Thresholding

While gait recognition is the mapping of a gait sequence to an identity known to the system, gait authentication refers to the problem of identifying whether a given gait sequence belongs to the claimed identity. A typical gait authentication system starts with a feature representation such as a gait template, then proceeds to extract its features, and a transformation is ultimately applied to obtain a discriminant feature set. Almost every authentication approach in literature favours the use of Euclidean distance as a threshold to mark the boundary between a legitimate subject and an impostor. This article proposes a method that uses the posterior probability of a Bayes' classifier in place of the Euclidean distance. The proposed framework is applied to template-based gait feature representations and is evaluated using the standard cASIA-B gait database. Our study experimentally demonstrates that the Bayesian posterior probability performs significantly better than the de facto Euclidean distance approach and the cosine distance which is established in research to be the current state of the art.

By and large,straw is not considered to be a building material,yet in comparison with traditional materials,building with straw bales is definitely more energy-efficient,eco-friendly,and low-cost;qualities that are desirable in sustainable *** paper presents information on three different straw bales buildings at the Kerkenes Eco-center,which is located in the village of Sahmuratli in central Anatolia,*** first of these was constructed with load-bearing straw bale walls;the second with straw bales as infill in a timber-frame structure;while the third utilized straw bales in combination with Autoclave Aerated concrete(AAc)*** last was a hybrid wall construction that has been tried for the first time to take advantage of the thermal-insulation property of straw combined with the humidity-regulating property of mud plaster inside and the weather-resistance property of AAc *** three buildings are being monitored for their temperature and humidity variances with the help of data loggers;this data is also presented herein.

Testing optically stimulated luminescence dating on sand-sized quartz of deltaic deposits from the Sperchios delta plain, central Greece

This study reports on the first investigation into the potential of luminescence dating to establish a chronological framework for the depositional sequences of the Sperchios delta plain, central Greece. A series of three borehole cores(20 m deep) and two shallow cores(4 m deep), from across the delta plain, were extracted, and samples were collected for luminescence dating. The luminescence ages of sand-sized quartz grains were obtained from small aliquots of quartz, using the Single-Aliquot Regenerative-dose(SAR) *** equivalent dose determination included a series of tests and the selection of the Minimum Age Model(MAM) as the most appropriate statistical model. This made it possible to confirm the applicability of quartz Optically Stimulated Luminescence(OSL) dating to establish absolute chronology for deltaic sediments from the Sperchios delta *** age results of the five cores showed that the deltaic sediments were deposited during the Holocene.A relatively rapid deposition is implied for the top14 m possibly as a result of the deceleration in the rate of the sea-level rise and the transition to terrestrial conditions, while on the deeper parts, the reduced sedimentation rate may indicate a lagoonal or coastal environment.

A review of self-assembled monolayers as potential terahertz frequency tunnel diodes

In this review, we describe the principles of the tunnel junction, self-assembled monolayer （SAM） application techniques, experimental testbed fabrication, and characterization of the films and devices. In addition, techniques for directed application, removal, and functionalization of the monolayers are discussed. Bottom-up fabrication techniques have seen increased attention because of their versatility and ease of use. These films see mechanical uses as surface modifiers and micro-scale lubricants. Advances in nanowatt electronics and ultra-low power sensors have opened up an energy harvesting niche for solutions which would have proven ineffective just some years ago. The focus of this study is the two- terminal junction which has potential applications in THz rectification for energy harvesting, medical imaging, and defense sensing. The quantum theory of operation behind these devices is touched on briefly---describing tunneling through the organic monolayers. commentary on trends in research and potential future work are presented as well.

Foodborne outbreaks in Brazil associated with fruits and vegetables:2008 through 2014

Objectives:Foodborne disease outbreaks linked to fruits and vegetables have been increasing in occurrence worldwide;therefore,the aim of this study was to identify the reported foodborne outbreaks associated with fruit and vegetable consumption in Brazil from 2008 to *** And Limitations:Thirty produce related outbreaks resulted in 2926 illnesses,347 hospitalizations,and no *** bacterial pathogens were identified as etiological *** these,Salmonella was the most frequent(30 per cent of outbreaks)followed by Staphylococcus aureus(23.3 per cent),Escherichia coli(10 per cent),Bacillus cereus(6.6 per cent),and thermotolerant coliforms(3.3 per cent),whereas etiological agents could not be determined for 26.6 per cent of *** most common food vehicles implicated in outbreaks were generically named as fruits and vegetables(46.6 per cent of outbreaks).The term salad was used generically and specifically like salads(two outbreaks),raw/cooked salads(four outbreaks),vegetable salad,tropical salad,caesar salad,and raw salad of cabbage and *** one outbreak was related exclusively to fruit(fruit pulp),whereas other outbreaks were related to cooked carrot,lettuce,cucumber,watermelon/cabbage,and chard/*** sources and issues related to the future control of produce-related foodborne disease outbreaks are discussed.
