This paper addresses the extended （G′/G）-expansion method and applies it to a couple of nonlinear wave equations. These equations are modified the Benjamin-Bona-Mahoney equation and the Boussinesq equation. This extended method reveals several solutions to these equations. Additionally, the singular soliton solutions are revealed, for these two equations, with the aid of the ansatz method.

The daily operations in the mining industry are still a significant source of risk with regard to occupational safety and health(OS & H). Various research studies and statistical data world-wide show that the number of serious injuries and fatalities still remains high despite substantial efforts the industry has put in recent years in decreasing those numbers. This paper argues that the next level of safety performance will have to consider a transition from coping solely with workplace dangers, to a more systemic model taking organizational risks in consideration. In this aspect, lessons learned from the nuclear industry may be useful, as organizational learning processes are believed to be more universal than the technologies in which they are used. With the notable exception of major accidents, organizational performance has not received all the attention it deserves. A key element for reaching the next level of performance is to include organizational factors in low level events analyses, and approach the management as a risk control system. These factors will then appear not only in the event analysis,but in supervision activities, audits, change management and the like. Many recent event analyses across various industries have shown that organizational factors play a key role in creating conditions for triggering major accidents(aviation, railway transportation, nuclear industry, oil exploitation, mining, etc.).In this paper, a perspective that may be used in supervisory activities, self-assessments and minor events investigations, is presented. When ingrained in an organizational culture, such perspective has the highest potential for continuous safety improvement.

This work aimed to tune the comprehensive properties of Fe-P-C-based amorphous system through investigating the role of microalloying process on the crystallization behavior,glass forming ability(GFA),soft magnetic features,and mechanical *** minor addition of elements into the system,it was found that the simultaneous microalloying of Ni and Co leads to the highest GFA,which was due to the optimization of compositional heterogeneity and creation of near-eutectic ***,the FeCoNiCuPC amorphous alloy exhibited the best anelastic/viscoplastic behavior under the nanoindentation test,which was owing to the intensified structural fluctuations in the ***,the improved plasticity by the extra Cu addition comes at the expense of magnetic properties,so that the saturation magnetization of this alloying system is significantly decreased compared to the FeCoPC amorphous alloy with the highest soft magnetic *** total,the results indicated that a combination of added elemental constitutes,i.e.,Fe69Co5Ni5Cu1P13C7 composition,provides an optimized state for the comprehensive properties in the alloying system.

Corrosion behavior of tempered dual-phase steel embedded in concrete

Dual-phase （DP） steels with different martensite contents were obtained by appropriate heat treatment of an SAE1010 structural carbon steel, which was cheap and widely used in the construction industry. The corrosion behavior of DP steels in concrete was investigated under various tempering conditions. Intercritical annealing heat treatment was applied to the reinforcing steel to obtain DP steels with different contents of martensite. These DP steels were tempered at 200, 300, and 400℃ for 45 min and then cooled to room temperature. Corrosion experiments were conducted in two stages. In the first stage, the corrosion potential of DP steels embedded in concrete was measured every day for a period of 30 d based on the ASTM C 876 standard. In the second stage, the anodic and cathodic polarization values of these steels were obtained and subsequently the corrosion currents were determined with the aid of cathodic polarization curves. It was observed that the amount of second phase had a definite effect on the corrosion behavior of the DP steel embedded in concrete. As a result of this study, it is found that the corrosion rate of the DP steel increases with an increase in the amount of martensite.

Glucagon-like peptide-2 （GLP-2） has potent anti-inflammatory effects and protects against experimental ischemia/reperfusion （I/R） injury in pulmonary, intestinal, and myocardial tissue. However, its protective abilities against I/R injury in the liver are unknown. We investigated the potential role of GLP-2 pretreatment on hepatic I/R injury in rats. A total of 24 rats were randomly divided into three groups （n = 8）. The first group was the control group; the second group was the vehicle-treated hepatic ischemia/reperfusion （HIR, vehicle saline-treated） group; and the third group was the GLP-2 pretreated I/R （GLP2-IR） group. Each rat in the third group was intraperitoneally administered 5 ~tg GLP-2 for 5 d before the procedure. A portal triad was created to induce ischemia with a vascular atraumatic clamp. After 40 min, the clamp was released to initiate hepatic reperfusion for 6 h. Blood samples and tissue specimens from the fiver were obtained. Alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, and total bilirubin levels significantly increased in the saline- treated HIR group （P 〈 0.001）, whereas GLP-2 pretreatment significantly decreased their levels （P 〈 0.01）. Our data suggested that GLP-2 pretreatment may have a protective effect on liver I/R injury. However, dose-response studies are necessary to determine the most effective dose.

Flood is becoming the severe hydrologic issue at the Kelantan River basin in *** joint distribution analysis amongst multiple interacting flood characteristics,i.e.,flood peak discharge flow,volume,and duration series usually provide a comprehensive understanding of the hydrologic risk assessments through visualizing the multivariate exceedance probability or return *** traditional copulas-based methodology is frequently employed under parametric settings where parametric family functions are often employed to model univari-ate marginal distribution before capturing their dependence ***,no universal rules and literature are imposed to model any flood vectors through any fixed or predefined density function,which would follow the different distribution and needs to model by fitting most parsimonious ***,the copula function already relaxes the restriction of selecting marginal distributions from the same distribution ***,incorporation of non-parametric kernel density estimations or KDE would be much stable and less biased smoothing alternatives than the parametric *** this literature,the semi-parametric copula-based methodology is incorporated,where the flood marginals are modelled under the kernel functions and applied as a case study for 50 years annual maximum(AM)flood samples of the Kelantan River basin at the Gulliemard Bridge gauge station in *** Archimedean families copulas(i.e.,Frank,Gumbel and Clayton)and Elliptical copula(i.e.,Gaussian copula)are tested,and thus best-fitted copulas are employed to model the bivariate joint distribution amongst flood characteristics,and which further employed to derive joint and conditional return periods.

AIM: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) strains isolated worldwide has been classified into eight genomic groups deduced from genome comparisons and designated as genotypes A to H. We aimed to investigate prevalence of HBV genotypes and subtypes in ***: A total of 88 chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients from 15 hospitals throughout the country were *** who were HBsAg positive in serum at least for 6 mo, who had HBV-DNA in serum and elevation of ALT levels more than two times upper limit of normal, and who had percutaneous liver biopsy within 6 mo were included. Genotyping of HBV was done by restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP). The patients received subcutaneous 9 MU interferon-α 2a thrice a week for a period of 6 ***: Genotype D was detected in 78 of 88 (88.7%)patients, however, genotyping failed in two patients (2.3%),while no product was obtained in eight (9.0%) *** subtypes, D2 was more prevalent (67 patients between 78% and 85.9%) followed by subtype D2+deletion (seven patients of 78 or 8.9%), subtype D1 (three patients of 78% or 3.9%) and subtype D3 (one patient of 78% or 1.3%). Thirty-three patients (37.5%) were HBeAg positive compared to 55 (62.5%) anti-HBe positive patients. The endpoint for the viral response of HBeAg positive patients was 27.2%, while it was found 52.7% in HBeAg negative patients (P＜0.05). Long-term persistent viral response was 29.5% for all ***: This multi-center study indicates that the predominant genotype with CHB patients in Turkey like in other Mediterranean countries is genotype D.

A Buffer Management Scheme for Packet Queues in MANET

We introduce a new scheme of buffer management to handle packet queues in Mobile Ad hoc Networks （MANETs） for fixed and mobile nodes. In this scheme, we try to achieve efficient queuing in the buffer of a centrally communicating MANET node through an active queue management strategy by assigning dynamic buffer space to all neighboring nodes in proportion to the number of packets received from neighbors and hence controlling packet drop probabilities. Our simulation study reveals that the proposed scheme is a way to improve the buffer management for packet queues in MANET nodes in terms of packet loss ratio, transmission efficiency, and some other important system parameters.
