Responses of Annual Variability of Vegetation NPP to Climate Variables Using Satellite Techniques in Gadarif State, Sudan

Plants play an essential role in matter and energy transformations and are key messengers in the carbon and energy cycle. Net primary productivity (NPP) reflects the capability of plants to transform solar energy into photosynthesis. It is very sensible for factors affecting on vegetation variability such as climate, soils, plant characteristics and human activities. So, it can be used as an indicator of actual and potential trend of vegetation. In this study we used the actual NPP which was derived from mODIS to assess the response of NPP to climate variables in Gadarif State, from 2000 to 2010. The correlations between NPP and climate variables (temperature and precipitation) are calculated using Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient and ordinary least squares regression. The main results show the following 1) the correlation Coefficient between NPP and mean annual temperature is Somewhat negative for Feshaga, Rahd, Gadarif and Galabat areas and weakly negative in Faw area;2) the correlation Coefficient between NPP and annual total precipitation is weakly negative in Faw, Rahd and Galabat areas and somewhat negative in Galabat and Rahd areas. This study demonstrated that the correlation analysis between NPP and climate variables (precipitation and temperature) gives reliably result of NPP responses to climate variables that is clearly in a very large scale of study area.

Dysregulation of histone deacetylases(HDACs) is closely related to tumor development and progression. As promising anticancer targets, HDACs have gained a great deal of research interests and two decades of effort has led to the approval of five HDAC inhibitors(HDACis). However, currently traditional HDACis, although effective in approved indications, exhibit severe off-target toxicities and low sensitivities against solid tumors, which have urged the development of next-generation of HDACi. This review investigates the biological functions of HDACs, the roles of HDACs in oncogenesis, the structural features of different HDAC isoforms, isoform-selective inhibitors, combination therapies, multitarget agents and HDAC PROTACs. We hope these data could inspire readers with new ideas to develop novel HDACi with good isoform selectivity, efficient anticancer effect, attenuated adverse effect and reduced drug resistance.

Prognostic significance of peritoneal metastasis from colorectal cancer treated with first-line triplet chemotherapy

BACKGROUND Peritoneal metastasis from colorectal cancer(CRC)carries a poor prognosis in most *** majority of those studies used either a single-agent or doublet chemotherapy regimen in the first-line *** To investigate the prognostic significance of peritoneal metastasis in a cohort of patients treated with triplet chemotherapy in the first-line *** We retrospectively evaluated progression-free survival(PFS)and overall survival(OS)in 51 patients with metastatic CRC treated in a prospective clinical trial with capecitabine,oxaliplatin,irinotecan,and bevacizumab in the first-line setting according to the presence and absence of peritoneal ***,univariate and multivariate analyses for PFS and OS were performed to assess the prognostic significance of peritoneal metastasis at the multivariate *** Fifty-one patients were treated with the above triplet *** had peritoneal *** patient characteristics of both groups showed a significant difference in the sidedness of the primary tumor(left-sided primary tumor in 60%of the peritoneal group vs 86%in the nonperitoneal group,P=0.03)and the presence of liver metastasis(40%for the peritoneal group vs 75%for the nonperitoneal group,P=0.01).Univariate analysis for PFS showed a statistically significant difference for age less than 65 years(P=0.034),presence of liver metastasis(P=0.046),lung metastasis(P=0.011),and those who underwent metastasectomy(P=0.001).Only liver metastasis and metastasectomy were statistically significant for OS,with P values of 0.001 and 0.002,*** analysis showed that age(less than 65 years)and metastasectomy were statistically significant for PFS,with P values of 0.002 and 0.001,*** the other hand,the absence of liver metastasis and metastasectomy were statistically significant for OS,with P values of 0.003 and 0.005,*** Peritoneal metastasis in patients with metastatic CRC tre

The aim of this work is to study the stability and control of input of three-phase photovoltaic voltage source inverters connected to the LC （inductor and capacitor） filter. A PI （proportional-integral） classical controller approach is established in the control, including a mPPT （maximum power point tracking） based on incremental conductance algorithm, the mPPT improves the speed and the tracking accuracy, to rapidly track the mPPT from photovoltaic with various weather conditions, and effectively eliminate the oscillation phenomena near the mPPT. The control system can stabilize and improve the system performances, and the simulation results show the high stability, high efficiency and robustness of the proposed control with good performances.

Surgical Treatment of Complex Axillary Scare Contractures: One Case Report

Background: Axillary scar contracture is frequently observed after severe burn insult and is usually accompanied by scarred adjacent area. These scars result in adduction deformity, which may be severe and diffuse. The lack of adequate treatment in the acute phase leads to complex scars that require different surgical techniques depending on the clinical examination of surgeon. Aim: Expose the possible surgical techniques, their advantages and disadvantages in the case of burning of the entire axillary hollow. The surgical management of linear scares contractures will not be discussed in this article. Case presentation: This is a rare clinical case of a 12-year-old girl who was burned at the age of 5 with disabling functional sequelae of the axillary area (limitation of the abduction to 30 degrees). The patient is treated at ALGHASSANI Hospital in Fes city/morocco. Parental consent was taken for scientific publication. Results: We did two surgical interventions: the first starting with excision of the scar tissue leaving a loss of skin covered by a laterothoracic IC fasciocutaneous flap. The second one was a semi-thick skin graft to cover the supero and infero external quadrants of the left breast. We obtain the abduction at 110 degrees. Conclusion: Early surgical management of deep lesions within 21 days of the burn associated with prolonged rehabilitation and the wearing of compression garments and splints are essential elements in the prevention of these axillary contractures.

For thousands of years, cities have been the center of civilization. According to that, detecting, monitoring and controlling urban growth became the most urgent need in urban planning and urban development process to get the expected results that can build a concrete base for decision makers to drive the polices toward best track. The issue of this paper is about urban growth and planning models and techniques such as geographic information system (GIS), cellular automata (CA), genetic algorithm (GA), regression model (R model) and etc. The main objective of this paper is to summarize the 70 scientific papers concern about urban growth to make a review and find out the most important objective, factors, techniques and results for best approach to studying urban growth. The criteria of choosing the papers are that each paper should focus mainly on urban growth modeling and techniques, also, using wide variety of data and factors. This paper aims to fill the gap of absence of the best methods for studying urban growth, as there is a diversity in the methods used, and there is also an absence of exemplary methods or optimal methods for using analytical tools to study urban growth. So, this paper tries to make it easy for researcher to mix the suitable techniques to get acceptable result for their hypothesis. The results assert combining two or more than two techniques and model to assure that the simulation or prediction models can give real and right approaches. However, most researches focused on combining specific techniques with models such as Cellular Automata CA-markov Chain mC model-Logistic regression or Cellular Automata CA-markov Chain mC model or GIS-mCDm or GIS Based AHP etc. Although, in many references some of these techniques were combined together to extract best result.
