Background/Aims: Determining the levels of oral health and the quality of dental care are fundamental to building concepts of oral health. This study aims to assess toothbrushing techniques using a technical and physical model, clarifying how children and pre-adults learn to brush their teeth. Materials and Methods: Data were recorded from 23 participants, both male and female of various ages, using a proposed electronic toothbrush equipped with X-Y-Z axes pathways. The data, collected before and after training experiments, were processed with MATLAB to generate plots for the three axes. Results: The study revealed that most parameter values, such as Mean Difference Between Amplitudes (MAV, 6.00), Wilson Amplitude (WAMP, 179.419), and Average Amplitude Coupling (AAC, 1.270), decreased from before to after the experiments. Furthermore, the average overall epoch lengths (AVG) showed a 75% reduction in movement amplitude between the two experiments. Conclusion: Dentist observations indicated which brushing methods were acceptable or not. Analytical values suggest that individuals learn the toothbrushing technique effectively, and medical observations clearly demonstrate the success of the proposed method.

Objective:To determine the proportion of imported frozen fish contaminated with Salmonella among retail food stores and supermarkets in the Eastern Province of Saudi ***:A total of 223 frozen freshwater fish purchased from different supermarkets and grocery stores were analyzed for the presence of foodborne pathogen *** isolation of Salmonella was determined and confirmed by using the methods of US Food and Drug Administration's Bacteriological Analytical *** Salmonella plus,biochemical tests and API 20E *** susceptibilities of Salmonella isolates were determined by the disk diffusion method on Muller-Hinton agar,as described by *** accordance with the guidelines of the Clinical and Laboratory Standards ***:Out of the total 223 fish samples(20 of catfish,18 of carfu,20 of mirgal,25 of milkfish,35 of mackerel,75 of tilapia,and 30 of rohu),89(39.9%)were tested positive for *** prevalence of positive samples were reported for the freshwater fish of pangas(60.0%,n=12),carfu(27.7%,n=5),mirgal(35.0%,n=7),milkfish(52.0%,n=13),mackerel(31.4%,n=11),tilapia imported from Thailand(64.0%,n=16),tilapia imported from India(28.0%,n=14),rohu imported from Thailand(26.6%,n=4)and rohu imported from Myanmar(46.6%,n=7).A total of 140 isolates of Salmonella *** yielded from at least seven different types of frozen freshwater fish imported from 5 different countries and were tested for their susceptibility to 16 selected antimicrobial *** highest antibiotic resistance was observed to tetracycline(90.71%)followed by ampicillin(70%)and amoxicillin-clavulanic acid(45%).Conclusions:The obtained results of this study shows that these raw retail imported frozen freshwater fish are contaminated with potentially pathogenic Salmonella *** the study recommend and suggest that there is a need for adequate consumer measures.

Satellite Based Augmentation Systems(SBASs)improve the positioning accuracy and integrity by broadcasting to the civil aviation community the corrections and integrity parameters.A snapshot algorithm based on the minimum variance estimation is investigated in this study to calculate the satellite clock and orbit corrections.A chi-square test is performed on the remaining errors in the corrected ephemeris to guarantee the *** Differential Range Error(UDRE)and scaling matrix contained in Message Type 28 are derived using the covariance information based on the assumption that one of the reference stations failed.A software package is developed and applied in the real data collected at 26 *** GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System)Service(IGS)precise clock and orbit products are taken as the references to assess the accuracy of *** both Global Positioning System(GPS)and BeiDou Navigation Satellite System(BDS),the range accuracy of 0.10 m can be achieved with the employment of the derived *** obvious performance difference between GPS and BDS is *** for all visible satellites are generated with the maximum index of 12 and minimum index of *** geometric range differences calculated with IGS precise products and broadcast ephemeris are employed to assess the integrity of *** is found that the UDRE is able to bound the residuals with 99.9%confidence which meet the requirement of aviation *** ionospheric delay corrected by Global Ionosphere Map(GIM),the positioning accuracy of 0.98 m with GPS corrections and 0.80 m with multi-constellation augmentation can be achieved which indicates a significant improvement of GPS standalone results.

Introduction:Multi-temporal land-use and land-cover data provides a historical vehicle for determining and evaluating long-term trends in bio-physical ***-use and land-cover assessment and mapping is one of the most useful applications of geographic information system(GIS)for planning,management,and *** study analyses the spatio-temporal pattern of forest cover dynamics for three decades in Falgore Game Reserve in Kano,*** dynamics of forest cover transition during 1985–2015 was analysed using multi-temporal Landsat ***:The spatio-temporal analysis shows that moderate woodland dominated in 1985(46%)and 2005(57%)but was replaced by open woodland in 2015 which accounts for 58%of the total area of Falgore Game Reserve(FGR)*** woodland occupied the least area of the total forest estate that varied between 17%in 1985 and 1%in *** results indicate that dense woodland,moderate woodland,and very open woodland were decreased at annual average rate of 3,1,and 0.4%.Open woodland had expanded from 21,127 ha in 1985 to 53,392 ha in *** main drivers of forest resource degradation in the area were found to be excessive fuelwood collection,overgrazing,agricultural expansion,and forest ***:These findings suggest that protection strategies employed in FGR were not effective as deforestation is still evident in the *** and environmental based NGOs should therefore prioritize effective and efficient conservation strategy for present and future use of forest resources,in addition to the provision of alternative livelihood sources to communities proximate to the *** will ensure the socio-economic well-being of the locals and sustainable conservation of biological diversity in the area.

Introduction:In the recent decades,there has been growing interest in the contribution of non-timber forest products(NTFPs)to livelihoods,development,and poverty alleviation among the rural *** has been prompted by the fact that communities living adjacent to forest reserves rely to a great extent on the NTFPs for their livelihoods,and therefore any effort to conserve such resources should as a prerequisite understand how the host communities interact with ***:Multistage sampling technique was used for the study.A representative sample of 400 households was used to explore the utilization of NTFPs and their contribution to households’income in communities proximate to Falgore Game Reserve(FGR)in Kano State,*** statistics and logistic regression analysis were used to analyze and summarize the data ***:The findings reveal that communities proximate to FGR mostly rely on the reserve for firewood,medicinal herbs,fodder,and fruit nuts for household use and *** from NTFPs accounts for 20–60%of the total income of most(68%)of the sampled *** utilization of NTFPs was significantly influenced by age,sex,household size,main occupation,distance to forest and ***:The findings suggest that NTFPs play an important role in supporting livelihoods,and therefore provide an important safety net for households throughout the year particularly during periods of hardship occasioned by *** is suggested that stakeholders should prioritize technical and financial support programs on agricultural value addition and handcrafts that would promote off-farm income generating activities,in addition,provision of alternative domestic cooking energy such as biogas in communities proximate to FGR in order to reduce pressure relating to fuelwood gathering from the forest,this will help to improve forest resources quality.

Paleozoic rocks in the Wadi El Sahu area are affected by many major faults in different directions.A reverse fault trending NE-SW is exposed for about 300 m of its length as it cuts through the Abu Hamata and Adedia formations on the south side of Wadi El Sahu.A secondary ascending hydrothermal solution carrying heavy metals and radioactive minerals passed through the fault plain and the surrounding fractures,forming mineralized and radioactive *** mineralized zone thickness ranges from 60 cm to 200 cm along the fault *** rocks were analyzed radiometrically using a portable gamma-ray spectrometer,chemically by employing ICP-ES and ICP-MS,as well as mineralogically by both binocular and Environmental Scanning Electron *** content was also determined by fire *** and U contents reached up to 2682 and 1216 ppm,*** investigations indicated the presence of uraninite,torbernite,autunite,sklodowskite,kasolite as uranium minerals,thorite as a thorium mineral,monazite,allanite and xenotime as REE-bearing minerals,zircon and columbite as accessory minerals,gold and nickel as precious and base metals,in addition to cassiterite,chalcopyrite,chalcocite and *** REE and U contents are attributed to the circulation of epigenetic U and REE-bearing hydrothermal solutions along the fault plain and its surrounding *** alteration processes could then be confirmed by the presence of the M-type tetrad effect in the REE-patterns of the ferruginous *** non-chondritic ratio of Nb/Ta,Zr/Hf and Y/Ho in the studied sandstone may be attributed to the tetrad *** Ce and Eu anomaly with unusual REE-patterns was represented by the presence of conjugated M-W tetrad effects,indicating either the dual effect of hydrothermal solutions or groundwater with *** results clarify that the tetrad-effects could be used as evidence for the environment of deposition and as an indication for gold minerali

The Lower Carboniferous sediments at Wadi Abu El Mogheirat consist of four stratigraphic formations, from base upwards: Um Bogma, El Hashash, Magharet El Maiah and Abu Zarab formations. The most-concentrated radioactive anomalies at Wadi Abu El Mogheirat are in the middle member of the Um Bogma Formation. The gibbsitic marl in this formation shows the highest uranium contents(around 710 ppm). Gibbsitic marl and black gibbsite of the middle Um Bogma Formation show higher enrichment in Co, Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb, Zn, U, V, Ce and Th. Black gibbsite contains the highest total rare earth elements concentration, especially in terms of LREEs, while gibbsitic marl contains the highest content of HREEs. Anomalous contents of gold at Wadi Abu El Mogheirat are recorded for the first time in the gibbsitic marl(content: 10.4 ppm), black gibbsite(2.8 ppm) of the middle member of the Um Bogma Formation and in the siltstones of the El Hashash Formation(0.6 ppm). Gibbsitic marl shows the presence of uranothorite, celestite, zircon, atacamite, barite, xenotime and rutile. These characteristic demonstrate that the middle member of the Um Bogma Formation constitutes a potential source for gold. This conclusion is reinforced by the potential to exploit other metals such as Co, Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb, Zn, U, V, Th and Ce as by-products.

Objective:To determine the prevalence and antimicrobial resistance rates of nosocomial pathogens isolated from cancer patients and hospital ***:A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted between December 2010 to May 2013 at Radiation and Isotopes Centre of Khartoum,Sudan.A total of 1 503 samples(505 clinical and 998 environmental)were *** were identified,and their antimicrobial susceptibility was determined using standard laboratory ***:Out of 505 clinical samples,nosocomial pathogens were found as 48.1%.Among hospital environment samples,bacterial contaminants were detected in 29.7%of *** main microorganisms recovered from cancer patients were Proteus spp.(23.5%),Escherichia coli(22.2%),Pseudomonas aeruginosa(***)(21.0%)and Staphylococcus aureus(20.2%).The most frequent isolates from hospital environments were Bacillus spp.(50.0%),Staphylococcus aureus(14.2%)and ***(11.5%).The proportions of resistance among Gram-negative pathogens from cancer patients were high for ampicillin,cefotaxime,ceftazidime and *** resistance rates were recorded to ciprofloxacin,such as 51.0%for ***,21.7%for Klebsiella pneumoniae and 55.5%for Escherichia *** Klebsiella,there were no significant differences(P0.05)of resistance rates between Gram-negative isolates from cancer patients to those from the hospital *** proportions of extended-spectrum b-lactamase producing isolates from cancer patients were not differ significantly(P=0.763)from those collected from the hospital environments(49.2%;91/185 vs.47%;32/68).Conclusions:The prevalence of nosocomial infection among cancer patients was high(48.1%)with the increasing of antimicrobial resistance *** environments are potential reservoirs for nosocomial infections,which calls for intervention program to reduce environmental transmission of pathogens.

Land use/land cover(LULC)indices can be considered while developing land surface temperature(LST)*** relationship between LST and LULC indices must be established to accurately estimate the impacts of LST *** study developed novel machine learning models for predicting LST using multispectral Landsat images data of Freetown city in *** neural network(ANN)and gene expression programming(GEP)were employed to develop LST prediction *** of multispectral bands were obtained from Landsat 4-5 and 8 satellites to develop the proposed *** extracted data of LULC indices,such as normal difference vegetation index(NDVI),normal difference built-up index(NDBI),urban index(UI),and normal difference water index(NDWI),were utilized as attributes to model *** results show that the root-mean-square error(RMSE)of the ANN and GEP models were 0.91oC and 1.08 oC,*** GEP model was used to yield a relationship between LULC indices and LST in the form of a mathematical equation,which can be conveniently used to test new data regarding the thematic *** sensitivity analysis revealed that UI is the most influential parameter followed by NDBI,NDVI,and NDWI towards contributing LST.
