Soil pore size distribution(PSD) directly influences soil physical,chemical,and biological properties,and further knowledge of soil PSD is very helpful for understanding soil functions and *** this study,PSD of three clayey soils collected from the topsoil(0-20 cm) of Vertisols in Northern China was analyzed using the N_2 adsorption(NA) and mercury intrusion porosimetry(mIP) *** effect of soil organic matter(SOm) on the PSD of clayey soils was also *** differential curves of pore volume of clayey soils by the NA method exhibited that the pores with diameter m accounted for more than 50%in the pore size range of 0.001 to 0.1 μ*** differential pore curves of clayey soils by the mIP method exhibited three distinct peaks in pore size range of 60 to 100,0.3 to 0.4 and 0.009 to 0.012 μm,*** the three clayey soils,the ultramicropores(5-0.1μm) were determined to be the main pore class(on average 35.5%),followed by macropores(> 75 μm,31.4%),cryptopores(0.1-0.007μm,16.0%),micropores(30-5 μm,9.7%) and mesopores(75-30 μm,7.3%).The SOm greatly affected the pore structure and PSD of aggregates in clayey *** particular,SOm removal reduced the volume and porosity of 5-100 μm pores while increased those of m pores in the 5-2 and 2-0.25 mm aggregates of clayey *** increase in the volume and porosity of m pores may be attributed to the disaggregation and partial emptying of small pores caused by the destruction of SOm.

Variation of nonlinear optical properties with surface roughness of ZnO thin films deposited on coming glass substrates at different annealing temperature （TA） was reported. The films were characterized by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, UV-Vis-NIR transmission and single beam z-scan technique using second harmonics of Nd：YAG laser. Surface morphology of the samples was investigated by atomic force microscopy （AFm）. Surface roughness was found minimum （8.4 nm） for ZnO sample annealed at 450℃. The nonlinear optical properties （NLO） were found to be dependent on surface roughness and the highest value of third order nonlinear susceptibility （X（3）=4.3x 10-7 esu） was obtained for ZnO at TA 450℃.

Emerging sub-synchronous interactions(SSI)in wind-integrated power systems have added intense attention after numerous incidents in the US and China due to the involvement of series compensated transmission lines and power electronics *** phenomenon occurs when two power system elements exchange energy below the synchro-nous *** phenomenon related to wind power plants is one of the most significant challenges to main-taining stability,while SSI phenomenon in practical wind farms,which has been observed recently,has not yet been described on the source of conventional SSI *** paper first explains the traditional development of SSI and its classification as given by the IEEE,and then it proposes a classification of SSI according to the current research status,reviews several mitigation techniques and challenges,and discusses analysis techniques for *** paper also describes the effect of the active damping controllers,control scheme parameters,degree of series compensation,and various techniques used in wind power plants(WPPs).In particular,a supplementary damping controller with converter controllers in Doubly Fed Induction Generator based WPPs is briefly *** paper provides a real-istic viewpoint and a potential outlook for the readers to properly deal with SSI and its mitigation techniques,which can help power engineers for the planning,economical operation,and future expansion of sustainable development.

This study derives the analytic solutions of boundary layer flows bounded by a shrinking sheet. With the similarity transformations, the partial differential equations are reduced into the ordinary differential equations which are then solved by the homotopy analysis method （HAm）. Two-dimensional and axisymmetric shrinking flow cases are discussed.

Genetic diversity among 45 Indian mustard （Brassica juncea L.） genotypes comprising 37 germplasm collections, five advance breeding lines and three improved cultivars was investigated at the DNA level using the random amplified polymorphic DNA （RAPD） technique. Fifteen primers used generated a total of 92 RAPD fragments, of which 81 （88%） were polymorphic. Of these, 13 were unique to accession ‘Pak85559＇. Each primer produced four to nine amplified products with an average of 6.13 bands per primer. Based on pairwise comparisons of RAPD amplification products, Nei and Li＇s similarity coefficients were calculated to evaluate the relationships among the accessions. Pairwise similarity indices were higher among the oilseed accessions and cultivars showing narrow ranges of 0.77-0.99. An unweighted pair-group method with arithmetic averages cluster analysis based on these genetic similarities placed most of the collections and oilseed cultivars close to each other, showing a low level of polymorphism between the accessions used. However, the clusters formed by oilseed collections and cultivars were comparatively distinct from that of advanced breeding lines. Genetically, all of the accessions were classified into a few major groups and a number of individual accessions. Advanced breeding lines were relatively divergent from the rest of the accessions and formed independent clusters. Clustering of the accessions did not show any pattern of association between the RAPD markers and the collection sites. A low level of genetic variability of oilseed mustard was attributed to the selection for similar traits and horticultural uses. Perhaps close parentage of these accessions further contributed towards their little diversity. The study demonstrated that RAPD is a simple and fast technique to compare the genetic relationship and pattern of variation among the gene pool of this crop.

A simple and efficient three component procedure has been developed for the synthesis of highly substituted spiro[indolo-3,100-indeno[1,2-b]quinolin]-2,4,11＇-triones by one pot three component condensation of enaminones, isatin and indane-1,3-dione in ethanol：water（1：1） in presence of ceric ammonium nitrate（CAN） as catalyst. This method provides several advantages such as lesser reaction time, high yield of products and operational simplicity. The antimicrobial activity of some of the compounds has been investigated against six microbial strains, some of the tested compounds showed good antimicrobial activity.

Cloud point （CP） determinations of 4-（1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl）phenyl-polyethylene glycol （TX-100 （nonionic surfactant）） was carried out in aqueous as well as in the attendance of drug （ceftriaxone sodium trihydrate （CFT））/（CFT ＋ different inorganic salts） and discussed thoroughly. Nonionic surfactants are employed exten- sively in different formulations. In aqueous solution, the values of CP of TX-100 are obtained to increase by means of enhancing of their concentration in the solution. The CP values of TX-100 solutions were found to de- crease in the presence of drug and their values decrease more with rising concentrations of the drug. The values of CP of CFT and TX-100 mixtures were found to further decrease in the attendance of inorganic salts in compar- ison to their absence. The effect of different sodium salts in decreasing CP values of TX-100 was achieved in the following order： NaCO3 〉 Na2SO4 〉 NaCl. However, in the case of potassium and ammonium salts, the decreasing order obtained is K2SO4 〉 KCO3 〉 KCI and （NH4）2SO4 〉 Na2CO3 〉 NH4Cl respectively. Various thermodynamic pa- rameters for example standard free energy （△G c）, standard enthalpy （△H c） as well as standard entropy （△S c） changes of phase separation were also evaluated and discussed in detail on the basis of their behavior.
