The aim of the current work is to synthesize the new heterocyclic pentacyclic condensed systems that combine benzothiophen and benzimidazole/triazole into one molecule. The dibenzothiophene was taken as an initial compound and by consistent “extension” was annihilated the imidazole and triazole nucleuses. As a result two new pentacyclic systems were produced: 3H-, 7H-diimidazole[4,5-b][5,4-g] dibenzothiophene-5,5-dioxide and 3H-, 7H-ditriazole[4,5-b][5,4-g] dibenzothiophene-5,5-dioxide with the promising antimi-crobial activity. Their spectral characteristics were studied.

Takotsubo cardiomyopathy is a heart condition that is widely known to be caused by stress. It presents with symptoms that are similar to a myocardial infarction even though the coronary arteries are clear. This case report details the clinical characteristics, diagnostic assessment, and management plan of a 55-year-old male patient with a past medical history of alcoholism who arrived at the emergency department with the typical symptoms of acute pancreatitis. The case demonstrates the progression of Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, which was triggered by acute pancreatitis in the context of alcoholism, and underlines the significance of early detection and management to enhance the patient’s outcomes.

The new theoretical method for the accurate determination of acidity of dilute solutions of weak multibasic organic acids (which are widely used in medicine, pharmacology, various branches of industry and participate in important biological processes in living organisms) is suggested. The concepts of the contributions of the separate dissociation steps to the [H+] value, xm, are used for an analysis of complex equilibria of the processes of dissociation of these acids. The cases of weak dibasic and tribasic organic acids with the “overlapping” dissociation equilibria and a general case of weak multibasic acids, HnA, are considered. From the conditions of equality of the concentrations of various ionized and non-ionized forms in the dilute solutions of weak multibasic organic acids the areas of dominance of these forms in connection with the corresponding xm values are formulated.

In this work, an analysis of the regularities of the electrolytic dissociation of aryl derivatives of the succinic acid (phenylsuccinic, benzylsuccinic, dibenzylsuccinic and phenyl-2-benzylsuccinic acids) in their dilute (0.0001 - 0.01 ***-3) solutions was carried out with the aid of a new method of determination of the dissociation parameters of weak multibasic organic acids with the “overlapping equilibria” effect previously described by authors. Values of the usual and “partial” degrees of dissociation, the concentrations of all anions, hydrogen ions and undissociated acid molecules, the activity coefficients of all charged dissociation products were calculated. Together with the accurate equations, the simple empirical equations for fast approximate determination of the various dissociation parameters were also suggested.

The “overlapping equilibria” effect observed in the processes of electrolytic dissociation of many weak multibasic organic acids determines the character of these processes. In this communication, the degree of “overlapping equilibria” in case of weak dibasic organic acids is quantitatively characterized by the values of “partial” degree of dissociation for second step and ratio of the concentrations of dianion and monoanion. It has been shown that these dissociation parameters are directly connected with the values of the second dissociation constant. It has been also shown that the contribution of third dissociation step in the “overlapping equilibria” effect is especially appreciable in case of penta and hexabasic weak organic acids causing the double “overlapping” phenomenon.

The new coronavirus(COVID-19),declared by the World Health Organization as a pandemic,has infected more than 1 million people and killed more than 50 *** infection caused by COVID-19 can develop into pneumonia,which can be detected by a chest X-ray exam and should be treated *** this work,we propose an automatic detection method for COVID-19 infection based on chest X-ray *** datasets constructed for this study are composed of194 X-ray images of patients diagnosed with coronavirus and 194 X-ray images of healthy *** few images of patients with COVID-19 are publicly available,we apply the concept of transfer learning for this *** use different architectures of convolutional neural networks(CNNs)trained on Image Net,and adapt them to behave as feature extractors for the X-ray ***,the CNNs are combined with consolidated machine learning methods,such as k-Nearest Neighbor,Bayes,Random Forest,multilayer perceptron(MLP),and support vector machine(SVM).The results show that,for one of the datasets,the extractor-classifier pair with the best performance is the Mobile Net architecture with the SVM classifier using a linear kernel,which achieves an accuracy and an F1-score of 98.5%.For the other dataset,the best pair is Dense Net201 with MLP,achieving an accuracy and an F1-score of 95.6%.Thus,the proposed approach demonstrates efficiency in detecting COVID-19 in X-ray images.

The Efficiency of Application Nanosilver in Technological Processes of Making Red Wine

The efficiency of using nanostructured silver in technological processes of making red wine has been studied with the purpose of substituting sulfur dioxide. For preparation of research objects, we used dry wine material of red grape variety ＂Saperavi＂. After completion of malolactic fermentation, the second racking the wine material off the lees and its treatment with antiseptics were carried out. Sulfur dioxide （Kadifit） and different doses of nanostructured silver were used. Microbiological investigation was performed on the presence of lactic bacteria after completion of malolactic fermentation and racking off the lees. The investigation of phenolic compounds was conducted at the following stages of technological processes：（1） after completion of alcoholic fermentation and racking off the lees; （2） after completion of malolactic fermentation; （3） after the second racking off the lees and treatment with antiseptics. By means of the HPLC analysis, the amounts ofcatechins, phenolcarbonic acids and flavonols were determined. It has been established that after conduction of malolactic fermentation in the process of racking the wine material off the lees and storage, the application of 0.6 mg/L of nano-silver for blocking of lactic-acid bacteria and inhibition of oxidation of phenolic compounds has the same effect as sulfitization with 50 mg/L of Kadifit.

Self-renewal Capacity of Several Species of the Genus Sternbergia Possessing Medicinal Properties

The present work dealt with sexual reproduction capacity of three relic species of the genus Sternbergia （family AmaryUidaceae） distributed in the Caucasus, i.e., Sternbergia lutea （L.） Ker Gawl. ex Spreng., Sternbergiafischeriana （Herb.） Roem and Sternbergia colchiciflora Waldst. ＆ Kit.. Under this study, the natural populations of species, which possess valuable medicinal and ornamental properties, have been assessed by experts as vulnerable, and S. colchiciflora is included in the red list of endemic plants of the Caucasus, as having status of the critically endangered species. The situation is aggravated by the poor self-regeneration capacity of these species, which is one of the main factors responsible for the sustainability of the population of this or that species in the wild. Self-regeneration capacity for sexual reproduction was investigated in the listed species of the genus Sternbergia using common methods of embryology and reproduction biology. In conditions of the National Botanical Garden of Georgia （NBGG）, the species S. lutea and S. fischeriana prove to be completely infertile and propagate vegetatively by bulblets, while S. colchiciflora revealed the ability for propagation by seed. Long-term conservation of seeds of the studied species S. colchiciflora in the Caucasus Regional Seed Bank （CRSB） and establishing of living collections of this species at the experimental plot were chosen as the method for safeguarding this critically endangered species.

About New Inorganic Polymers-Double Condensed Phosphates of Silver and Trivalent Metals

A distinctive feature of phosphates is their special and significant ability to form inorganic polymeric compounds---condensed phosphates, which are destined to play a considerable role in our ＂high-tech＂ society in the future. Numerous olygophosphates, polyphosphates, double condensed phosphates and cyclophosphates with diverse formula, such as double tetra-, octa- and dodecaphosphates were obtained and described by us last years. The offered data are the outcomes of our scientific researches： of synthesis, analysis, and estimation of results in correlation with new achievements in inorganic polymer＇s chemistry. Many double condensed compounds, containing monovalent metals are obtained by us during systematic investigation of polycomponent systems, containing mono- and trivalent metals at temperature range 100-600 ~C. Synthesised condensed phosphates, in fact--inorganic polymers were examined in detail by chemical and thermogravimetric analysis, most compounds were examined by paper chromatography and the structures are determined by X-ray structural techniques/diffraction analysis. During our fundamental researches numerous new （about 70） unknown until now condensed phosphates have been obtained. Dependency of composition VS temperature and molar ratio, reliance of structure from duration of synthesis and radius of the ions are revealed.
