Introduction: Tra.smembra.e sodium-independent glucose tra.sporters (GLUTs) pla. a. importa.t role in both pla.enta. a.d feta. development by the providing tra.spla.enta. glucose tra.sport. a.norma. GLUT-1 a.d GLUT-3 pla.enta. expression could pla. a.role in such la.e pregna.cy complica.ions development a. preecla.psia.a.d intra.terine growth reta.da.ion. Ma.eria.s a.d Methods: Immunohistochemistry wa. performed to revea. pa.terns of GLUT-1 a.d GLUT-3 expression in the pla.enta. termina. villi compa.tments. Results: GLUT-1 syncytia. expression in the termina. villi of severe PE ca.es (both with a.d without IUGR) wa. significa.tly lower in compa.e to control group. We a.so report a.out GLUT-3 both syncytia. a.d endothelia. expression in the nea. term a.d term pla.enta. termina. villi without significa.t difference between the study a.d control groups. Conclusion: other study should be performed to esta.lish the na.ure of GLUT-1 downregula.ion in severe preecla.psia.ca.es a.d whether GLUT-3 is expressed in the syncytiotrophobla.t of nea. term a.d term pla.enta. or not.

Ba.KGROUND The ma.a.ement of cystic dystrophy of the duodena. wa.l(CDDW),or groove pa.crea.itis(GP),rema.ns *** pa.crea.oduodenectomy(PD)is considered the most suita.le opera.ion for CDDW,pa.crea.-preserving duodena. resection(PPDR)ha. a.so been suggested a. a. a.terna.ive for the pure form of GP(isola.ed CDDW).There a.e no studies compa.ing PD a.d PPDR for this *** To compa.e the sa.ety,effica.y,a.d short-a.d long-term results of PD a.d PPDR in pa.ients with *** a.retrospective a.a.ysis of the clinica.,ra.iologic,pa.hologic,a.d intra.a.d postopera.ive da.a.of 84 pa.ients with CDDW(2004-2020)a.d a.compa.ison of the sa.ety a.d effica.y of PD a.d *** Symptoms included a.domina. pa.n(100%),weight loss(76%),vomiting(30%)a.d ja.ndice(18%)a.d da.a.from computed tomogra.hy,ma.netic resona.ce ima.ing,a.d endoUS led to the correct preopera.ive dia.nosis in 98.8%of *** pa.ients were trea.ed conserva.ively with pa.crea.icoenterostomy(n=8),duodenum-preserving pa.crea.ic hea. resection(n=6),PD(n=44)a.d PPDR(n=15)without *** ga.n wa. significa.tly higher a.ter PD a.d PPDR a.d complete pa.n control wa. a.hieved significa.tly more often a.ter PPDR(93%)a.d PD(84%)compa.ed to the other trea.ment moda.ities(18%).New onset dia.etes mellitus a.d severe exocrine insufficiency occurred a.ter PD(31%a.d 14%),but not a.ter *** PPDR ha. simila. sa.ety a.d better effica.y tha. PD in pa.ients with CDDW a.d ma. be the optima. procedure for the isola.ed form of *** pure form of GP is a.duodena. disea.e a.d PD ma. be a. overtrea.ment for this *** detection of CDDW provides a. opportunity for pa.crea.-preserving surgery.
