Synchronous chemotherapy and radiotherapy,termed chemoradiation therapy,is now an important standard regime for synergistic cancer *** such treatment,nanoparticles can serve as improved carriers of chemotherapeutics into tumors and as better radiosensitizers for localized ***,we designed a Schottky-type theranostic heterostructure,Bi_(2)S_(3)-Au,with deep level defects(DLDs)in Bi_(2)S_(3) as a nano-radiosensitizer and CT imaging contrast agent which can generate reactive free radicals to initiate DNA damage within tumor cells under X-ray ***(MTX)was conjugated onto the Bi_(2)S_(3)-Au nanoparticles as a chemotherapeutic agent showing enzymatic stimuli-responsive release *** designed hybrid system also contained curcumin(CUR),which cannot only serve as a nutritional supplement for chemotherapy,but also can play an important role in the radioprotection of normal ***,this combined one-dose chemoradiation therapeutic injection of co-drug loaded bimetallic multifunctional theranostic nanoparticles with a one-time clinical X-ray irradiation,completely eradicated tumors in mice after approximately 20 days after irradiation showing extremely effective anticancer efficacy which should be further studied for numerous anti-cancer applications.

Groundwater is considered as one of the most important sources for water supply in *** Fasa Plain in Fars Province,Southern Iran is one of the major areas of wheat production using groundwater for irrigation.A large population also uses local groundwater for drinking ***,in this study,this plain was selected to assess the spatial variability of groundwater quality and also to identify main parameters affecting the water quality using multivariate statistical techniques such as Cluster Analysis(CA),Discriminant Analysis(DA),and Principal Component Analysis(PCA).Water quality data was monitored at 22 different wells,for five years(2009-2014)with 10 water quality *** using cluster analysis,the sampling wells were grouped into two clusters with distinct water qualities at different *** Lasso Discriminant Analysis(LDA)technique was used to assess the spatial variability of water *** on the results,all of the variables except sodium absorption ratio(SAR)are effective in the LDA model with all variables affording 92.80%correct assignation to discriminate between the clusters from the primary 10 *** component(PC)analysis and factor analysis reduced the complex data matrix into two main components,accounting for more than 95.93%of the total *** first PC contained the parameters of TH,Ca2+,and Mg2+.Therefore,the first dominant factor was *** the second PC,Cl-,SAR,and Na+were the dominant parameters,which may indicate *** originally acquired factors illustrate natural(existence of geological formations)and anthropogenic(improper disposal of domestic and agricultural wastes)factors which affect the groundwater quality.

BACKGROUND： Erythropoiesis is regulated by a range of intrinsic and extrinsic factors, including different cytokines. Recently, the role of catecholamines has been highlighted in the development of erythroid cell lineages. OBJECTIVE： This study focuses on the biological links interconnecting erythroid development and the sympathetic nervous system. The emerging evidence that underscores the role of catecholamines in the regulation of erythropoietin and other erythropoiesis cytokines are thoroughly reviewed, in addition to elements such as iron and the leptin hormone that are involved in erythropoiesis. METHODS： Relevant English-language studies were identified and retrieved from the PubMed search engine （1981-2017） using the following keywords：＂Erythropoiesis＂, ＂Catecholamines＂, ＂Nervous system＂, and ＂Cytokines.＂ RESULTS： Chronic social stress alters and suppresses erythroid development. However, the physiological release of catecholamines is an additional stimulator of erythropoiesis in the setting of anemia. Therefore, the severity and timing of catecholamine secretion might distinctly regulate erythroid homeostasis. CONCLUSION： Understanding the relationship of catecholamines with different elements of the erythroid islands will be essential to find the tightly regulated production of red blood cells （RBCs） in both chronic and physiological catecholamine activation.

OBJECTIVE: To focus a new chemoprevention approach that uses nanotechnology to deliver luteolin to human breast cancer cells(MCF-7), and its underlying ***: Water-soluble copolymer-encapsulated nanoparticle-luteolin(CENL) was formulated using the hydrophobic drug luteolin. The ability to load and release he anticancer drug into/from the synthesized hyperbranched polyester was evaluated by high-performance liquid *** successful synthesis of CENL was supported by analytical techniques including fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, gel permeation chromatography,and dynamic light scattering. Cell viability was measured using the 3-(4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2, 5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide color method. Reactive oxygen species(ROS) were measured using a dichlorofluorescein probe and intracellular calcium(Cai2+) was evaluated with a flu3-AM ***: The results showed that the drug delivery system is stable and that the loading capacity is high. Treatment with nanoparticles containing luteolin and free luteolin resulted in cell death in breast cancer cells at high concentrations (IC50(33 ± 4) and(48 ± 6) μM, respectively)At high concentrations,CENL reduced cell viability and increased ROS and Cai2+ ***: Our results demonstrate that CENL has potential for human breast cancer treatment.

Background:Veterans with purely physical disorders,such as ankle-foot neuromusculoskeletal disorders,are often neglected in psychological assessments because mental health evaluations are usually focused on those with a psychological disturbance or with a high percentage of *** purpose of this study was to evaluate the psychological condition of veterans with ankle-foot neuromusculoskeletal ***:A cross-sectional study was performed between 2014 and 2016 on veterans with war-related ankle-foot injuries living in two provinces of *** information form for demographic data and injury-related factors was ***,the previously validated Persian version of the Symptom Checklist-90-Revision(SCL-90-R)questionnaire was used for data ***:The respondents were 215 male veterans with a mean age of 51.7±7.5 *** most common mental health problems were observed for the somatization(24.7%),obsessions-compulsions(14.4%),and anxiety(12.6%).Based on the Global Severity Index(GSI),48.6%of individuals had a possible psychiatric/psychological *** to the multivariate regression analysis,GSI scores were significantly higher among veterans who were older than 27 years at the time of injury(P=0.005),had an associated injury(P=0.002),and had a history of hospitalization within the past 12 months for reasons other than their injury(P=0.035).Conclusion:Approximately half of the combat veterans with ankle-foot neuromusculoskeletal disorders likely had psychological *** evaluation of the patterns and predicting factors of psychological conditions may inform strategic planning efforts and decision-making,which,in turn,may provide a better quality of life for *** studies that utilize longitudinal designs are needed to evaluate and compare the psychological status of different groups of veterans and other groups in the general population.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate immunomodulatory effects of Astragalus polysaccharides(APS)on the co-culture of peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs)with He La cervical cancer cell ***:To assess the proliferation of PBMCs,carboxyfluorescein succinimidyl ester(CFSE)-labeled PBMCs were co-cultured with He La cells and treated with different concentrations of *** of cell culture were collected for cytokines assay via enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).The impact of APS on the proliferation of PBMCs,induction of regulatory T cells(Tregs),and myeloid-derived suppressor cells(MDSCs)was carried out by flow ***:It was observed that APS could increase the proliferation of PBMCs co-cultured with He La cells(P0.05).Furthermore,ELISA results demonstrated that APS could decrease IL-10 and TGF-βconcentration(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:The above-mentioned characteristics showed that APS might be able to modulate immune responses and improve anti-tumor effects through increasing the proliferation of PBMCs and decreasing inhibitory cytokines secretion as critical mediators of immune suppression in the tumor microenvironment.

Background:The ankle-foot injuries are among the war-related injuries that cause many serious secondary problems for a *** nationwide study aimed to assess health-related quality of life and the ability to perform activities of daily living in veterans with ankle-foot injuries due to the Iran-Iraq ***:A total of 1079 veterans with ankle-foot injuries were enrolled in a cross-sectional study from 2014 to *** characteristics,including age,gender,marital status,disability percent,educational level,employment and additional injuries,were *** ability to perform daily activities was assessed using the Barthel activities of daily living(ADL)and Lawton instrumental activities of daily living(IADL)*** and mental health-related quality of life(HRQOL)data were measured via the SF-36 *** data were compared with those of bilateral lower limb amputees(BLLAs)and of the general Iranian *** analyses,including Pearson’s correlation coefficient,one-sample t-test and analysis of variance(ANOVA),were performed using SPSS16.0.A multiple linear regression model was used to determine the contribution of independent variables to the Physical Component Summary(PCS)and Mental Component Summary(MCS).Results:The highest and lowest scores were observed for mental health(48.93±20.69)and bodily pain(28.16±21.74),*** mean scores of veterans with ankle-foot injuries on the SF-36 were significantly lower on all eight measures than those of the general Iranian male population and of the bilateral lower limb amputees(P<0.001).The mean scores of ADLs and IADLs were 83.9±16.3 and 5.3±2.0,*** higher dependency in ADLs(P<0.001)and IADLs(P<0.001),the higher disability rate(P<0.001)and additional injury(P<0.001)were significant determinants of the ***(P<0.001)and IADL(P<0.001)limitations,additional injury(P<0.001),history of hospitalization in the year preceding the study(P=0.007)and employment(P=

Objectives:Prevalence rates of overweight and obesity are dramatically ever-increasing across the ***,this study was to evaluate the effect of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy(MBCT)on weight loss,hypertension,and attentional bias towards food cues in a group of women affected with this ***:A total of 45 participants were selected out of women referring to the Nutrition and Diet Therapy Clinic affiliated to Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences,Iran,and then randomized into three groups of *** first experimental group was subjected to an energy-restricted diet therapy together with MBCT during 8 sessions,the second group took the diet therapy alone,and the third group received no *** mass index(BMI),hypertension,and attentional bias towards food cues were correspondingly evaluated before,at the end,and four weeks after the completion of the ***:The results of this study revealed that MBCT,along with diet therapy,had been significantly more effective in weight loss,decrease in BMI,lower systolic blood pressure(SBP),and attentional bias towards food cues compared with the diet therapy alone(P≤0.01).MBCT had no significant impact on the decline in diastolic blood pressure(DBP)in participants in the follow-up ***:This study demonstrated that MBCT along with the conventional diet therapy was more effective in weight loss,decrease in BMI,hypertension control,as well as attentional bias towards food cues than the diet therapy alone.
