Musculoskeletal tissue interfaces are a common site of injury in the young,active *** particular,the interface between the musculoskeletal tissues of tendon and bone is often injured and to date,no single treatment has been able to restore the form and function of damaged tissue at the bone-tendon *** engineering and regeneration hold great promise for the manufacture of bespoke in vitro models or implants to be used to advance repair and so this study investigated the material,orientation and culture choices for manufacturing a reproducible 3D model of a musculoskeletal interface between tendon and bone cell *** models are essential for future studies focussing on the regeneration of musculoskeletal interfaces in ***-encapsulated fibrin hydrogels,arranged in a horizontal orientation though a simple moulding procedure,were shown to best support cellular growth and migration of cells to form an in vitro tendon-bone *** study highlights the importance of acknowledging the material and technical challenges in establishing co-cultures and suggests a reproducible methodology to form 3D co-cultures between tendon and bone,or other musculoskeletal cell types,in vitro.

The interplay between soil physical parameters during the recovery from anoxic stresses （reoxidation） is largely unrecognized. This study was conducted to chaxacterise the soil aeration status and derive correlations between variable aeration factors during reoxidation. Surface layers （0-30 cm） of three soil types, Haplic Phaeozem, Mollic Gleysol, and Eutric Cambisol （FAO soil group）, were selected for analysis. The moisture content was determined for a range of pF values （0, 1.5, 2.2, 2.7, and 3.2）, corresponding to the available water for microorganisms and plant roots. The variability of a number of soil aeration parameters, such as water potential （pF）, air-filled porosity （Eg）, oxygen diffusion rate （ODR）, and redox potential （eh）, were investigated. These parameters were found to be interrelated in most cases. There were significant （P 〈 0.001） negative correlations of pF, Eg, and ODR with eh. A decrease in water content as a consequence of soil reoxidation was manifested by an increase in the values of aeration factors in the soil environment. These results contributed to understanding of soil redox processes during recovery from flooding and might be useful for development of agricultural techniques aiming at soil reoxidation and soil fertility optimisation.

A METHOD OF AS-CAST CRACK PREDICTION BASED UPON NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF SOLIDIFICATION

Based on the numerical simulation of solidification of castings, a thermal stress formula and a thermal crack initiation criterion are established, which suggest that the cracks initiate at the two-thirds thickness of solidified layer from outside of castings. Cast steel wheels whose diameters are 800mm are employed to testify the positions of cracks through thermal ela- stic-plastic analyses and low magnifying structure observations conventionally. The results show that the numerical prediction of cracks coincides with the measured result, and the cracks do not necessarily follow where the defects such as shrinkage holes and porosities occur. It is also found that surface temperature control is an effective factor to avoid the crack formation.

The production of solar fuels via the photoreduction of carbon dioxide to methane by titanium oxide is a promising process to control greenhouse gas emissions and provide alternative renewable fuels. Although several reaction mechanisms have been proposed, the detailed steps are still ambiguous, and the limiting factors are not well defined. To improve our understanding of the mechanisms of carbon dioxide photoreduction, a multiphysics model was developed using COMSOL. The novelty of this work is the computational fluid dynamic model combined with the novel carbon dioxide photoreduction intrinsic reaction kinetic model, which was built based on three-steps, namely gas adsorption, surface reactions and desorption, while the ultraviolet light intensity distribution was simulated by the Gaussian distribution model and Beer-Lambert model. The carbon dioxide photoreduction process conducted in a laboratory-scale reactor under different carbon dioxide and water moisture partial pressures was then modeled based on the intrinsic kinetic model. It was found that the simulation results for methane, carbon monoxide and hydrogen yield match the experiments in the concentration range of 10^(−4) mol·m^(–3) at the low carbon dioxide and water moisture partial pressure. Finally, the factors of adsorption site concentration, adsorption equilibrium constant, ultraviolet light intensity and temperature were evaluated.

Kinetics of chemical leaching of chalcopyrite from low grade copper ore: behavior of different size fractions

The kinetics of the chemical leaching of copper from low grade ore in ferric sulfate media was investigated using the constrained least square optimization technique. The experiments were carried out for different particle sizes in both the reactor and column at constant oxidation-reduction potential （eh）, pH values, and temperature. The main copper mineral was chalcopyrite. About 40% of Cu recovery is obtained after 7 d of reactor leaching at 85℃ using -0.5 mm size fraction, while the same recovery is obtained at 75℃ after 24 d. Also, about 23% of Cu recovery is obtained after 60 d of column leaching for ＋4--8 mm size fraction whereas the Cu recovery is as low as about 15% for ＋8--12.7 and ＋12.7--25 mm size fractions. A 4-stage model for chalcopyrite dissolution was used to explain the observed dissolution behaviors. The results show that thick over-layers of sulphur components cause the parabolic behavior of chalcopyrite dissolution and the precipitation of Fe3＋ plays the main role in chalcopyrite passivation. In the case of coarse particles, transformation from one stage to another takes a longer time, thus only two stages including the initial reaction on fresh surfaces and S0 deposition are observed.

In this work, the effects of quantum confinement on the ground state energy of a correlated electron-hole pair in a spherical and in a disc-like quantum dot have been investigated as a function of quantum dot size. Under parabolic confinement potential and within effective mass approximation Ritz＇s variational method is applied to Hylleraas-like trial wavefunction. An efficient method for reducing the main effort of the calculation of terms like τekh exp （-λτeh） is introduced. The main contribution of the present work is the introduction of integral transforms which provide the calculation of expectation value of energy and the related matrix elements to be done analytically over single-particle coordinates instead of Hvlleraas coordinates.

Medical data tampering has become one of the main challenges in the field of secure-aware medical data *** of normal patients’medical data to present them as COVID-19 patients is an illegitimate action that has been carried out in different ways ***,the integrity of these data can be *** detection is a method of detecting an anomaly in manipulated forged *** appropriate number of features are needed to identify an anomaly as either forged or non-forged data in order to find distortion or tampering in the original *** neural networks(CNNs)have contributed a major breakthrough in this type of *** has been much interest from both the clinicians and the AI community in the possibility of widespread usage of artificial neural networks for quick diagnosis using medical data for early COVID-19 patient *** purpose of this paper is to detect forgery in COVID-19 medical data by using CNN in the error level analysis(ela)by verifying the noise pattern in the *** proposed improved ela method is evaluated using a type of data splicing forgery and sigmoid and ReLU phenomenon *** proposed method is verified by manipulating COVID-19 data using different types of forgeries and then applying the proposed CNN model to the data to detect the data *** results show that the accuracy of the proposed CNN model on the test COVID-19 data is approximately 92%.
