The perfect combination of renewable energy and desalination technologies is the key to meeting water demands in a cost-effective,efficient and environmentally friendly *** desalination technique by humidificationdehumidification is non-conventional approach suitable for areas with low infrastructure(such as rural and decentralized regions)since it does not require permanent *** this study,this technology is implemented by using solar energy as a source of thermal power.A seawater desalination unit is considered,which consists of a chamber with two evaporators(humidifiers),a wetted porous material made of a corrugated cellulose cardboard and a condenser(dehumidifier).The evaporation system is tested with dry bulb temperature and relative air humidity *** results of numerical simulations indicate that higher inlet air velocities(from 0.75 to 3 m/s)lead to a decrease in theΔT,ΔRH,and *** the air remaining within the evaporator for 30 cm,the temperature differential increases to 5.7°c,accompanied by a 39%rise in relative humidity *** changes result in a significant enhancement in humidification efficiency,achieving a remarkable efficiency level of 78%.However,a wettability value of 630 m^(2)/m^(3)leads to a smaller reduction of these *** the pad thickness,particularly to 0.3 m,improves performance by boostingΔT,ΔRH,and effectiveness,especially for pads with a wettability of 630 m^(2)/m^(3),for which superior performances are predicted by the numerical tests.

In this editorial,we discuss the article in the World Journal of *** article conducts a meta-analysis of the diagnostic accuracy of the urea breath test(UBT),a non-invasive method for detecting Helicobacter pylori(***)infection in *** is based on radionuclide-labeled *** methods,both invasive and non-invasive,are available for diagnosing *** infection,inclu-ding endoscopy with biopsy,serology for immunoglobulin titers,stool antigen analysis,and *** guidelines recommend UBTs as the primary choice for diagnosing *** infection and for reexamining after eradication *** is used to be the first choice non-invasive test due to their high accuracy,specificity,rapid results,and ***,its performance remains unaffected by the distribution of *** in the stomach,allowing a high flow of patients to be *** its widespread use,the performance characteristics of UBT have been inconsistently described and remain incompletely *** are two UBTs available with Food and Drug Administration approval:The 13c and 14c *** tests are affordable and can provide real-time *** may prefer the 13c test because it is non-radioactive,compared to 14c which uses a radioactive isotope,especially in young children and pregnant *** there was heterogeneity among the studies regarding the diagnostic accuracy of both UBTs,13c-UBT consistently outperforms the *** makes the 13c-UBT the preferred diagnostic ***,the provided findings of the meta-analysis emphasize the significance of precise considerations when choosing urea dosage,assessment timing,and measurement techniques for both the 13c-UBT and 14c-UBT,to enhance diagnostic precision.

Adapted European seabass(Dicentrarchus labrax L.)larvae at 25 days post-hatching(dph)with a primary weight and length of 23 mg and 9.92 mm,start the weaning up to 46 dph using the weaning micro-diet(54%crude protein from fish meal,powder milk,and poultry egg)concurrently with Artemia enriched with fortification emulsions(0.6 g/L)of DHA selco®as a control group(DHAS)or Fish oil+20%Vitamin c(FOVc),or Fish oil+20%Vitamin E(FOVE),or Fish oil+10%Vit.c+10%Vit.E(FOcE),or Fish oil only(FO).At 46 dph,groups of larvae fed enriched Artemia with DHAS and FOVE exhibited the highest final body weight,weight gain,average daily gain,specific growth rate,feed intake,protein efficiency ratio,and survival%as well as the lowest feed conversion ***,larvae in FOVc displayed the lowest final body weight,total length,weight gain,average daily gain,specific growth rate,feed intake,protein efficiency ratio,and survival%as well as the highest feed conversion *** histological assessment exhibited no pathological alteration as well as an improvement in the structure with DHAS,FOVE,FOVc,and FOcE co-additives compared to *** peroxidase enzyme(GPx)recorded the highest rates(PcE and *** the lowest record for GPx activity was noted in the FO *** conclusion,Using augmented Artemia nauplii with fish oil+vitamin E in single or in companion with vitamin c as cheap antioxidants support *** larval growth,survival,and antioxidant efficacy during the critical weaning period.

Recently,research on hydrogel materials with a porous structure and superior water absorption capabilities significantly ***,the hydrogel under gravity-driven separation conditions often exhibit an unstable pore structure,poor mechanical properties,and limited *** this end,this work presents a novel approach that combines a macro-micro double bionic strategy with a triple crosslinking method to develop a multifunctional alginate composite hydrogel filter(2%-SA-κcG-PVA-ca^(2+),2%-SKP-ca^(2+)for short)with a stable pore structure and superior mechanical properties,which possessed an umbrella-shaped structure resembling that of *** 2%-SKPca^(2+)filter was synthesized using polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)as a stable structure-directing agent,and sodium alginate(SA)andκ-carrageenan(κ-cG)as polymer *** distinctive umbrellashaped hydrogel of 2%-SKP-ca^(2+)filter,formed through the triple crosslinking method,overcomes the limitations of unstable pore structure and poor durability seen in hydrogels prepared by traditional crosslinking ***,the utilization of the 2%-SKP-ca^(2+)filter in water treatment demonstrates its good selective permeability,excellent resistance to fouling,and extended longevity,which enables it to simultaneously achieve the multifunctional water purification and the coating of multi-substrate anti-fouling ***,not only does this research provide an efficient,multifunctional,highly pollution-resistant preparation method for designing a new filter,but it also confirms the application prospect of the macro-micro dual bionic strategy developed in this study in complex water treatment.

Macroalgae are multicellular,aquatic autotrophs that play vital roles in global climate maintenance and have diverse applications in biotechnology and eco-engineering,which are directly linked to their multicellularity ***,their genomic diversity and the evolutionary mechanisms underlying multicellularity in these organisms remain *** this study,we sequenced 110 macroalgal genomes from diverse climates and phyla,and identified key genomic features that distinguish them from their microalgal *** for cell adhesion,extracellular matrix formation,cell polarity,transport,and cell differentiation distinguish macroalgae from microalgae across all three major phyla,constituting conserved and unique gene sets supporting multicellular *** genes show phylum-and climate-specific expansions that may facilitate niche ***,our study reveals genetic determinants of convergent and divergent evolutionary trajectories that have shaped morphological diversity in macroalgae and provides genome-wide frameworks to understand photosynthetic multicellular evolution in aquatic environments.

In the present work,some novel α-amino nitriles were prepared:amino-2-(anthracen-9-yl)acetonitrile(AAN),and 2-(naphthalen-1-yl)-2-((triethoxysilyl)propyl)amino)acetonitrile(Si-AN).With the aid of other organic compounds(3-aminopropyl triethoxysilane“APTES”and tetraethyl orthosilicate“TEOS”),the following carbon nanotubes“cNT”and magnetite“Mag”based adsorbents were prepared:cNT-AAN,Mag-SiO_(2),Mag-SiO_(2)-APTES,Mag-SiO_(2)-*** FT-IR,1H and 13c NMR spectroscopy proved the formation of(c triple bond N)and(NH-)bonds which indicated successful amino nitrile modification of the *** ability of the above-mentioned adsorbents to remove cadmium“cd(II)”from water was studied at various pH *** modification with AAN reduced cd(II)uptake,while all Mag modifications increased cd *** addition of AAN to the extraction medium with cNT sorbent reduced cd(II)*** addition of TEOS and Si-AN to the extraction medium for cd(II)removal using Mag was studied where a positive impact was *** on the above experiments,it was decided to use Mag as adsorbent with the addition of Si-AN to the extraction *** optimization recommended pH 8 and cd:Si-AN molar ratio of 1:*** maximum adsorption capacity towards cd(II)achieved in this study was 65 mg g^(−1).The method selectivity,re-usability and applicability on well water and tap water samples gave appropriate *** adsorption of cd(II)on Mag in the presence of Si-AN was fast,endothermic,spontaneous,favored and physi-sorption was predominant.

We report on the structural,magnetic,and magnetocaloric properties of EuRhO_(3) *** oxidation states of Eu and Rh ions were studied using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).It is found that the Eu ions are mainly in the divalent oxidation state while the Rh ions have+4 ***_(3) powders are found to be antiferromagnetic with a second order magnetic transition at Neel temperature(T_(N)=2.9 K).Analysis of the magnetic susceptibility versus temperature data in terms of the curie=Weiss law:(χ=c/(T-θ_(W))) for T>T_(N),yields θ_(W)=-3.1 K and effective magne tic moment μ_(ff)^(exp),which is close to the theoretical value μ_(eff)^(theo).The magnetic entropy change(-Δ_(SM)),was determined by em ploying the thermodynam ic Maxwell's *** μ_0H=5 T and near T_(N),ΔS_(M)^(Max) and relative cooling power(RcP) exhibit large values of 33.7 J/(kg·K) and 238 J/kg,*** large magnitude of-Δ_(SM) and RcP show that the EuRhO_(3) compound could be a potential candidate to be used in cryogenic magnetic refrigeration.
