Building Custom spreadsheet Functions with Python: End-User software Engineering Approach

End-user computing empowers non-developers to manage data and applications, enhancing collaboration and efficiency. spreadsheets, a prime example of end-user programming environments widely used in business for data analysis. however, Excel functionalities have limits compared to dedicated programming languages. This paper addresses this gap by proposing a prototype for integrating Python’s capabilities into Excel through on-premises desktop to build custom spreadsheet functions with Python. This approach overcomes potential latency issues associated with cloud-based solutions. This prototype utilizes Excel-DNA and IronPython. Excel-DNA allows creating custom Python functions that seamlessly integrate with Excel’s calculation engine. IronPython enables the execution of these Python (CsFs) directly within Excel. C# and VsTO add-ins form the core components, facilitating communication between Python and Excel. This approach empowers users with a potentially open-ended set of Python (CsFs) for tasks like mathematical calculations, statistical analysis, and even predictive modeling, all within the familiar Excel interface. This prototype demonstrates smooth integration, allowing users to call Python (CsFs) just like standard Excel functions. This research contributes to enhancing spreadsheet capabilities for end-user programmers by leveraging Python’s power within Excel. Future research could explore expanding data analysis capabilities by expanding the (CsFs) functions for complex calculations, statistical analysis, data manipulation, and even external library integration. The possibility of integrating machine learning models through the (CsFs) functions within the familiar Excel environment.

BACKGROUND Oral candidiasis(OC)is an oral health disease that could influence patients’oral health quality of *** To estimate prevalence of OC among disabled and non-disabled individuals and its potential risk factors in the Al-Baha region,saudi *** An observational cross-sectional study was carried out among 148 disabled and non-disabled *** technique of concentrated oral rinse employing the sabouraud Dextrose Agar medium accompanied with 0.05%chloramphenicol was conducted to assess and isolate *** examination using the World health Organization guidelines was conducted to examine participants’oral hea-lth status.A pre-designed questionnaire was also used to evaluate sociodemo-graphic,medical history,and oral hygiene habits of the studied *** Out of 148 participants(n=57,38%)had colonized *** of the studied population had visible Candida ***,Candida was found in the oral rinses without the subject presenting any lesions or issues caused by Candida(asymptomatic colonization).The most common prevalent OC among participants were Candida albicans,Candida glabrata,Candida dubliniensis,Candida krusei,Candida tropicalis,and Candida parapsilosis(n=35,61%;n=8,14%;n=6,10%;n=5,9%;n=2,4%;and n=1,2%)***,smoking,poor plaque,and gingival status were key potential risk factors that significantly associated with candida’s density and presence(P=0.001,P=0.001,P=0.01,and P=0.01)*** status had no statistically significant effect on presence and density of *** The prevalence of OC is almost third of the studied population;thus,may provoke a need to develop preventive strategies to reduce the OC rate and establish solid treatment plans.

Physio-biochemical and nutrient constituents of peanut plants under bentazone herbicide for broad-leaved weed control and water regimes in dry land areas

The abundance of broad-leaved weeds in peanut fields represents the handicap in weed management programs, since limited specific herbicides can be recommended to control them. Moreover, the physio-biochemical constituents and nutritional status in peanut plants as affected by available herbicides, i.e., bentazone under water stress conditions are not well known. Therefore, field trials were conducted during the growing seasons in 2016 and 2017 to investigate the interactional impact of irrigation levels(I_(50), I_(75) and I_(100), representing irrigation by 50%, 75% and 100% of crop evapotranspiration, respectively) and weed control practices(bentazone, bentazone+hoeing once, hoeing twice and weedy check as control) on dominant broad-leaved weeds as well as peanut physiological and agronomic traits. Result indicated that the efficiency of weed control for each weeded treatment under I_(50) significantly equaled with its counterpart under I_(75) or I_(100). Bentazone+hoeing once diminished weed biomass by 89.3% and enhanced chlorophyll content of peanut plants by 51.2%. Bentazone relatively caused a reduction in carotenoides. hoeing twice and bentazone+hoeing once under I_(100) in both growing seasons as well as hoeing twice under I_(75) in 2017 were the superior combinations for boosting pod yield of peanut plants. Treatment of bentazone+hoeing once and I_(75) recorded the lowest reduction in N utilization percentage and the highest increase in potassium utilization percentage of peanut plants. eliminating weeds enhanced water use efficiency by 37.8%, 49.6% and 34.7% under I_(50), I_(75) and I_(100), respectively. In conclusion, peanut seems to be tolerant to bentazone at moderate water supply, thus it can be safely used in controlling the associated broad-leaved weeds.

2-hydrazino-4-hydroxy-5h-[1]-benzopyrano-[4,3-d]-pyrimidin-5-one (3) was prepared via condensation of 2 with hydrazine hydrate. Treatment of 3 with methylene chloride, ethyl chloroformate, ethyl chloroacetate and benzaldehyde yielded the corresponding 2 - ( substituted ) hydrazino - 4 -hydro-xy-5h-[1]-benzopyrano-[4,3-d]-pyrimidin-5-one (4, 5, 6, and 10), followed by cyclization of 4, 5 and 6 with dimethyl formamide and fused sodium acetate under reflux, while compound 10 was cyclized with bromine and sodium acetate in acetic acid. Compound 3 reacted with β-(toloyl) acrylic acid, ethyl α-cyano-p-methoxycinnamate, diethyl malonate and acetyl chloride affording the corresponding 2-(substituted) hydrazino-4-hydroxy-5h-[1]-benzopyrano-[4,3-d]-pyrimidin-5-one (12, 13, 14, 15 and 16).

Determining the thermophysical properties of Al-doped ZnO nanoparticles by the photoacoustic technique

The thermal conductivity and specific heat capacity of undoped and Al-doped （1–10 at.%） ZnO nanoparticles prepared using the solvent thermal method are determined by measuring both thermal diffusivity and thermal effusivity of a pressed powder compact of the prepared nanoparticles by using the laser-induced photoacoustic technique. The impact of Al doping versus the microstructure of the samples on such thermal parameters has been investigated. The results reveal an obvious enhancement in the specific heat capacity when decreasing the particle size, while the effect of Al doping on the specific heat capacity is minor. The measured thermal conductivities are about one order of magnitude smaller than that of the bulk ZnO due to several nested reducing heat transfer mechanisms. The results also show that Al doping significantly influences the thermal resistance. Using a simple thermal impedance model, the added thermal resistance due to Al dopant has been estimated.

Characterization and separation of pyrite from Abu Tartur black shale

This work aimed for pyrite separation from Abu Tartur black shale as a source of sulfur to be an added economic value of Abu Tartur area. The considered samples in the present work were collected from a core drilled in Abu Tartur plateau representing the pyrite-rich black shale of the U. Cretaceous age, sample characterization was carried out using petrographic microscope, XRD, DTA/DTG, C/s and XRF techniques. Clay minerals, silt-sized quartz, calcite, and hematite were the main minerals associating pyr- ite （5.34g）. Liberation behavior of the sample was about 80% below 5 μm. sample processing was achieved through one-day soaking followed by classification using I inch Mozley hydro-cyclone where about 35.5% by weight went to underflow and 64.5% went to overflow. The underflow product was subjected to an advanced gravity separation process using sB-40 Falcon Concentrator through a CCD statistical design prepared by Design-Expert 6.0 software proposed to opti- mize the separation process through a study for the effects of frequency （hz） and water pressure （Psi） on both assay and recovery of the sulfur-rich heavy fraction. A heavy concentrate weighed 10.90% with inorganic sulfur content reached 11.37% （21.24% pyrite） with overall recovery （50.01%） was obtained after two cleaning at the optimum conditions.

study of Factors Associated with the Practice of Vaccination against COVID-19 among Medical science students in Dakar (senegal)

Introduction: Almost a year after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, senegal embarked on a vaccination campaign to protect its population. The objective of this study was to identify the factors influencing the COVID-19 vaccination practices within a health training university in Dakar. Methodology: This was a cross-sectional, descriptive and analytical study carried out from October 21 2021 to February 21 2022 among students at the elhadj ibrahima Niass private University in Dakar, senegal. A 28-question online questionnaire was sent to all students enrolled at the university during this period. Results: Of the 576 students who responded, the average age was 22.60 years, with females predominating (57.81%). Medical students accounted for 66.14% of participants, pharmacy 22.40% and dental surgery 11.46%. Of these, 42.01% were bachelor’s students, 29.51% master’s students and 28.47% doctoral students. Vaccination coverage was 50.35%. students who considered COVID-19 to be very dangerous were more likely to be vaccinated (OR = 5.05 [2.24-11.9]). Those with poor knowledge of vaccines were less likely to be vaccinated (OR = 0.07 [0.03-0.18]), as were those with poor knowledge of contraindications to vaccination (OR = 0.49 [0.28-0.86]). No association was found between vaccination status and socio-demographic or educational characteristics. Conclusion: In view of the importance of knowledge about COVID-19 vaccination, our results suggest that it is important to involve health students in the Ministry of health’s awareness-raising strategies, because their support is necessary for better public awareness.
